Chapter Twenty-Five: Sister Su Li, you are a good person!

Su Li, of course, would not accept Lin Dong's invitation.

Even if the invitation is well-intentioned.

Although she did want to find people to form a team, in her mind, a team of about five people would be enough.

Otherwise, with too many people, there will be too many thoughts, and consequently, more conflicts and more malice!

Moreover, she felt that the name Lin Dong sounded familiar. Perhaps it was mentioned in the original book, but it was a minor character, so she couldn't quite remember it!

However, since it's mentioned in the book, he'll definitely have a relationship with the female lead. But Su Li can't be sure if the relationship is good or bad, nor can she be sure if Lin Dong is a good guy or a bad guy.

So it's best to stay away from this person!

Fortunately, the group didn't seem to have any ill intentions towards them. Of course, it's also possible that they were more eager to search for supplies in the mall.

So after Su Li politely declined, the group didn't make things difficult for her and quickly went inside the mall.

The conversation between the group and Su Li lasted only a few dozen seconds. There were not many zombies outside the mall. Su Li and the others ran around in the direction the zombies were chasing them, until they were out of sight of the mall entrance, before taking out their car and driving away.

There's no need to come back to this mall, so Su Li doesn't plan to go back to the beauty studio from yesterday for tonight.

She was running low on gas and decided to go to a nearby gas station to get some more to store.

The gas station I was going to was located at an intersection, with the largest fresh produce wholesale market and the small commodity market in Yucheng on the southeast side.

If we can collect the supplies from both places, then Zuli's stockpiling plan can be completed one-third of the time!

It's already 2 PM, the hottest time of day, and probably the time when zombies are least mobile.

However, the zombies at this time of day are still much more agile than yesterday; they are even more agile than they were this morning!

Su Li watched from a distance in the car and noticed that some of the zombies had already started jogging!

It seems that once zombies start to evolve, the speed of evolution will probably be very fast!

She drove very carefully, her attention completely focused on the road ahead, afraid that if she wasn't careful, the wheels would get stuck on a tree root protruding from the road!

Just as the car passed by a residential building, Qi Zhi suddenly pointed in a direction and exclaimed, "Sister Su Li, there are people over there!"

Upon hearing this, Su Li looked in the direction he was pointing.

At a glance, I saw a group of more than twenty people standing outside a small supermarket downstairs in the residential area. Each of them was holding a stick, and the ground around them was littered with zombie corpses.

The supermarket's glass door was shattered. As Su Li turned to look, the broken door frame was being pulled open.

Just as their car was passing by, someone in the crowd saw them, immediately started waving at them, and tried to bypass the potholes in the ground damaged by the mutated plants to stop the car.

Su Li watched expressionlessly from inside the car, but silently increased the pressure on her feet, quickly driving away just as the group was about to reach the roadside!

Qi Zhi was still curiously peering through the car window, trying to see the group of people behind him. He thought he had just seen flames coming from the palm of one of the people in that group.

Before he could even see them a second time, a girl's cool voice came from behind him: "There are quite a lot of them, and it's safer with more people. If you want to join them, I can take you back."

Qi Zhi: "Huh?"

The boy turned his head blankly to look at Su Li. Before he could react, the black cat that had been quietly lying on his lap suddenly jumped out of his arms!

The cat jumped directly onto the back of the girl's chair and lay down. Its big, round eyes had black pupils that had shrunk to pinpoints, and its icy blue eyes made him feel inexplicably cold.

He suddenly realized the meaning behind Su Li's words and hurriedly waved his hands and shook his head in a panic:

"No, no, no! Sister Su Li, I didn't mean it that way. There are so many of them, and I... I... I have social anxiety, I can't handle it!"

After a series of denials, he began to explain his actions: "I was watching, and one of them had a fireball in his palm. I was wondering if it was a fire-based ability!"

Lin Xi was surprised for a moment when she heard him say that!

Is it another superpower?

It seems that as zombies rapidly evolve, human superpowers are also awakening at the same time!

Nature is fair after all; it has at least left humanity a glimmer of hope!

but……

She suddenly turned her head silently and glanced at the nervous-looking boy beside her. Then, as the boy nervously picked at his fingers, she suddenly asked:

"I haven't asked you yet, how come you were alone in the mall yesterday? Was that scream from upstairs in the mall yesterday caused by someone you were with?"

Originally, Su Li just wanted to understand Qi Zhi's situation. She had planned to formally invite him to join her team as long as Qi Zhi's escape story was reasonable.

As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Qi Zhi's expression froze, and then his mood plummeted.

He nodded somewhat forlornly: "That's not me, that's my friend."

“We were neighbors living in the same building, and also very good childhood friends. After the apocalypse, my family… my dad turned into a zombie, my mom was bitten by my dad, and only I escaped. At that time, he was the only one at home; his parents were away on a business trip.”

Qi Zhi's voice was low, as if he were recalling something, or perhaps he was telling a story:

"Later, we hid in his house for six days. There was no food left in the house. Fortunately, I had awakened my superpower and still had water to drink, but we couldn't rely on water alone. Just that day, a dozen or so survivors from our building found us and said that we should all go out to find supplies together, so we went to the mall."
