◎Happy Day 65: Winter Preparation Plan◎
Zhao Jiahao and Li Anxuan were not unable to walk now. The main reason they called for help was because they had brought back a car and the pulley system could not transport it up.
That’s right, Zhao Jiahao and Li Anxuan drove back.
It's not an ordinary car.
It's the kind of off-road go-kart whose four wheels are almost taller than the car body. You can tell at a glance that it can't be legally driven on the road and can only be used in scenic spots for a few dozen dollars to ride for ten minutes.
Jiang Muyun walked around the car and asked curiously, "Is this car powered by electricity? Or does it run on gasoline? Where did you two drive it back from?"
Zhao Jiahao slapped the wheel proudly. "It's a gasoline-powered car. I found it from a resort on the outskirts of Liu City and drove it all the way back."
Jiang Muyun saw them carrying guns and knives, even wearing tactical vests, and asked, "Did you pick up an oil drum on the road?"
Now that even military equipment has been leaked out of Hai City, it seems normal to pick up oil drums.
Zhao Jiahao was even more pleased with himself. "You haven't seen the chaos surrounding Hai City. The various factions are seizing control of the region, forming alliances and vying for supremacy. Some are on the verge of becoming village kings. You can discard the excess iron rods, but the generators can't be shut down. The chances of finding a wild oil drum outside are lower than picking up a box of AKs."
Li Anxuan didn't continue to make up stories and said bluntly, "That resort is quite remote and was about to close down before the temperature dropped. The car and the oil were left there for a long time, so we drove straight back."
Zhao Jiahao's story was cut short before it even began, but he said unwillingly, "You still don't know how we found such a remote supply point, right?"
Li Anxuan: "On the way back, we ran into a company that hadn't yet disbanded. Someone in the company knew the place and, seeing they had enough cars, gave us one. The gas was also stored at the resort."
Li Anxuan frowned slightly at this. "Their original mission was to escort someone to a new location, but now... it's no longer a mission. The situation in Hai City is out of control, and from what I hear, they seem to be moving to Nan City, looking for a more stable place to settle down."
Jiang Muyun was very fond of this survival base established by soldiers. She said thoughtfully, "If they choose to settle near South City, it might not be a bad thing. At least under the absolute suppression of force, South City will be much more peaceful."
The Chinese people have a natural trust and awe for the military and police. If a military troop is stationed here, it will be a deterrent both spiritually and practically to those thugs who wantonly start a doomsday carnival.
There is no large-scale outflow of arms in Nanshi. More than 90% of the lethal weapons that can turn Nanshi into a real-life battle royale game are lying in Jiang Muyun's space.
The remaining scattered forces were not enough to arm a force composed of ordinary citizens that could challenge a well-organized and professionally trained army.
Li Anxuan was silent for a moment before saying, "I hope so. Although the company's organization has not been disbanded, it is not complete. The entire team has only about fifty people in total."
If it is a relatively sound company with more than one hundred armed soldiers, without a large-scale outflow of arms from Nanshi, it can indeed form an absolute military suppression of the surrounding areas of Nanshi.
But there were only about fifty people, and they were carrying a lot of good stuff...
Li Anxuan, who had experienced the chaos in Liu City, did not dare to jump to conclusions.
Chu Buwen patted Li Anxuan's relatively intact right shoulder and said, "The situation around South City is not bad. Everyone is fighting with cold weapons. We haven't entered the era of hot weapons yet. Don't worry too much."
Zhao Jiahao put his arm around Li Anxuan's right shoulder and said, "You're suffering from post-war psychological syndrome. As for the gate to our Nanshan Army's arsenal, unless we blow up the mountain, no one can get the contents inside. Those little things outside won't have much of an impact."
Jiang Muyun, who had retrieved everything from the mountain without blowing it up, remained calm and composed: "Let's get the things up the mountain first. You two also need to take care of your injuries."
Zhao Jiahao and Li Anxuan's mountain kart couldn't carry much stuff, so they only brought two boxes in total, which looked very similar to the boxes of ammunition that Jiang Muyun had found in the Nanshan military arsenal, and half a 50L tank of diesel.
One of the boxes contained various daily necessities, which Wang Qingqing and Zhou Ying could easily lift. After fixing the pulley system here, Qin Shiwen and Qin Shiwu on the mountain would pull it up.
As for the other box, Wu Xingyue and Zheng Xiang originally wanted to help, but they tried for a long time but the box didn't move at all.
Zhao Jiahao opened the box to show them what was inside: "Let's take this one, it's too heavy."
Jiang Muyun took a quick glance and saw that apart from a few submachine guns and Type 56 rifles, there were only bullets of various calibers inside.
It seems that what Zhao Jiahao said about picking up guns easier than picking up oil around Hai City is indeed not nonsense.
"It's not all 7.62." Chu Buwen walked forward and motioned Zhao Jiahao to step back.
These two people together can't put together a complete set of limbs, so it's better to use less force at this moment.
Li Anxuan said, "Guns can be found anywhere, but usable bullets are hard to find. Besides, I'm thinking things might get dicey in the future, so I'd like to get some extra bullets so everyone can practice, just in case."
Indeed, most guns are not afraid of water. Even if they are soaked in water for half a month, they can still be used after being taken out and maintained.
But bullets themselves are consumables, and their consumption rate is countless times faster than the gun itself, and there is no way to maintain them.
Even if you apply a waterproof layer, it may not be able to withstand long-term immersion. Once it gets soaked in water, it is ruined. There is no such thing as repairing it or saving it.
So it is easy to pick up guns in the apocalypse, but what is really hard to find are bullets.
This is also one of the reasons why Jiang Muyun and Chu Buwen, although their marksmanship is not very good, can accurately identify whether there are bullets in other people's guns.
In the apocalypse, there are many people who pick up guns to scare others. If you don’t have the ability to distinguish whether the other party is a real tiger or a paper tiger, eight hundred lives will not be enough to try and make mistakes.
Jiang Muyun lifted the other side of the box, and he and Chu Buwen exerted force at the same time. The veins on the back of their hands popped out before they lifted it up.
Jiang Muyun shook his hands: "Can the pulley system of this thing hold up? Don't let it break halfway."
Chu Buwen tried to tie it to the rope: "No, the box has fallen to the bottom and I can't pull it up at all."
No matter how steep the two ends where they installed the pulleys were, they were not straight up and down cliffs, but still had a certain slope.
This box will fall to the bottom as soon as it is hung up. If you pull it hard, the fixed pulleys at both ends may be damaged.
None of them brought any bags when they went down the mountain. The supplies that Jiang Muyun and Chu Buwen had hidden at the foot of the mountain had been transported back long ago after the heavy haze had passed. Now they were really worried about looking at this box.
Jiang Muyun thought for a moment and took off his coat: "Let's carry half of it up first, put the rest in the car and carry it up with the car."
The go-kart they drove back, which was specially provided for the scenic spot, could not be put on the pulley.
It’s not because it’s heavy, but mainly because I’m afraid of damaging this still usable motor vehicle.
Several people took out all the guns in the box, wrapped the bullets in clothes, and finally tied them into a bundle to prevent the bullets from rattling all over the car.
According to Zhao Jiahao, most of the bullets in the box were stolen by them. Except for the commonly used 7.62mm ones, they would pick out some and pack them, and pile the rest in without paying attention. They would then go home and sort them out slowly.
The two wounded men staggered up the mountain, but after only two steps, Jiang Muyun urged them to walk ahead.
"With you two following me like this, I'm afraid that when I turn around, I'll find you two are gone." Jiang Muyun said.
Jiang Muyun's words were not an exaggeration at all.
When Qin Shiwu checked their wounds, several people helped him and witnessed the difficulty of the real-life battle royale with their own eyes.
Li Anxuan's left arm was pierced by a bullet, but thankfully no bone was broken. His left knee, struck by a heavy object, has limited mobility, and Qin Shiwu suggests it may be a fracture. His right elbow was dislocated and poorly reconnected, requiring reattachment. He also suffered numerous other minor injuries.
Zhao Jiahao didn't have any serious injuries, but he had more minor injuries, and he looked even scarier than Li Anxuan.
His right ear was lost vertically. According to Zhao Jiahao, if he had reacted a little slower, it would not have been his earlobe that was lost, but half of his head.
This wasn't the only time Zhao Jiahao reacted quickly.
A piece of flesh was cut off from his right shoulder. Judging from the angle of the knife, if he had been slower, he would have lost half his head.
Zhao Jiahao had countless cuts of varying sizes on his body. They looked like they had been there for quite some time, and some were almost healed. However, some had been covered in clothing, and when he opened his clothes, the edges of the wounds had turned white, and some were even oozing pus.
Jiang Muyun followed Qin Shiwu's movements to clean his wound while laughing, "You were tied up, and someone carved the word 'miserable' on your back before putting you in the pot, right?"
Zhao Jiahao lay on the lifeboat to help them treat the wound on his back. After hearing what Jiang Muyun said, he pounded the ground in anger: "We were ambushed just after we got back! Li Anxuan and I didn't dare to kill them at first, so they took advantage of us!"
Later, when the gang saw that they couldn't beat them, they just pulled out their guns, and that's how Zhao Jiahao lost his earlobe.
Fortunately, they encountered this incident just after they returned, which gave them the first wave of supplies and made them alert. They did not show mercy when they met people again, so they were able to escape from Liu City safely.
After treating the wound, Jiang Muyun asked about what he had been thinking about.
"A patient with redness all over his body?" Zhao Jiahao thought for a moment and said, "I don't have much impression of him, but now that you mention it, I seem to have seen him somewhere."
He turned to look at Li Anxuan, who confirmed, "We ran into him on our way back. Do you remember the guy who got pecked to death by a flock of ducks?"
Killed by a duck...
After hearing this, the expressions of several people were indescribable.
"I remember!" Zhao Jiahao slapped his thigh, and the slap happened to hit his wound. Not only did he jump up in pain, but he was also hit on the back of his head by Qin Shiwu.
Zhao Jiahao rubbed the back of his head in frustration and continued, "It was when we first arrived in Nanshi that we saw a buddy being chased and pecked by a duck. I'm not saying anything about that duck, it looked strange. It was bigger than a goose and the same color as your two chickens."
Everyone thought about the two chickens in Jiang Muyun's family that had a metallic sheen all over their bodies, and nodded with sympathy.
This certainly looks very wrong.
"The ducks flapped their wings and pecked directly into the man's eyeballs. They walked away without even looking at us." Zhao Jiahao continued, "The unlucky guy's hands and feet were red, but his face was fine. We thought it was just a sunburn or something."
Jiang Muyun thought about it for a moment and felt that it made sense.
Ducks are omnivorous animals. Since the plants haven't grown outside yet, it's obvious that they usually eat more meat. It's completely unreasonable for them to just peck at people and leave.
Unless there is something wrong with that person, just like Xiaobai who also rejects the blood of those people in Yi City.
There was no reaction on his face, probably because he had not been infected for long, so the ducks could not tell the difference and thought the food in front of them was fine. But after taking a bite, they found that the taste was not right, so they avoided it directly.
Just like Xiaobai pestered Jiang Muyun to rinse his mouth after biting someone.
Like the attacker in the haze whose face was red, Xiaobai didn't bite him at all, but would rather learn from Dabai to scratch him with his claws.
Qin Shiwu packed up the medicine and said, "From your description, this disease should have appeared recently, or spread. The source of infection may have come from the direction of Yi City. When Xiaowen and I left the urban area of Nanshi, we didn't encounter such people."
Qin Shiwen added, "It's possible that we bumped into him but didn't notice. But we definitely haven't seen anyone with a red face."
According to Jiang Muyun's description, the patient's face was not simply red on the cheeks, but his forehead and eye sockets were also red, which was a bit like the state of being drunk.
If they had seen such a person, it would be impossible for them not to have an impression of him.
"However, you saw infected people in Yi City who were already terminally ill before the smog, while Zhao Jiahao and his team arrived in Nan City after the smog. There was a gap of almost ten days between them, and they only saw one mild case." Qin Shiwu stood up and said, "We have three people here with wounds on their bodies who had close contact with infected people. Two of them were not wearing masks. They seem to be fine at the moment."
Qin Shiwu didn't elaborate on the "infection route" or "transmission route" and simply stated his conclusion: "Just take precautions when you go out and remember to disinfect when you get home. To prevent problems with the source of infection, deworming must continue."
Jiang Muyun had seen countless infectious diseases in his past life. No matter how they mutated, they all shared one characteristic: a high mortality rate and a narrow transmission range. Unless the source of infection was problematic, like the plague, or the entire Blue Planet's water supply was a source of some disease, viruses that could spread widely had a moderate mortality rate. Jiang Muyun had weathered these many times on his own.
This characteristic is more obvious in the end times when the land is vast and the population is sparse.
Jiang Muyun had seen a lot of situations in dealing with infectious diseases and knew that the virus was not yet at the point where they needed to stay at home.
She didn't dwell on the virus, but instead raised her biggest concern: "It's not just about our own protection. We also have to consider how to disinfect the supplies we bring back from outside. If we rely on spraying disinfectant every time, I'm afraid the supplies we have won't last long."
In Jiang Muyun’s previous life, epidemic prevention basically depended on fate. If he could get epidemic prevention materials, he would protect himself well for a while. If he couldn’t get them, it would be up to fate.
But wasn't it a last resort at the time? There was nothing else to rely on, so I could only rely on my strong horoscope.
Now that he was rich, he didn't have to do the rough work anymore. Jiang Muyun didn't want to continue checking the balance of his eight-character hardness after his rebirth, so he had better be honest and take good precautions.
Qin Shiwu spread his hands: "I think it would be enough to use ultraviolet disinfection on the supplies we brought back, if our mountain is not invaded by the virus."
It's sunny every day now, but the sun isn't as strong as it was before the acid rain. If all else fails, they still have ultraviolet lamps, which they removed from sterilizers and use to disinfect supplies, which is kind of like returning to their roots.
Now they can take out the vegetables they grow every day to bask in the sun, and there is no need to keep the lights on in the cave for a long time. Turning on the ultraviolet light for a few hours is enough to disinfect the supplies.
Jiang Muyun mentally calculated the time of the new spring: "In that case, we still have to prioritize collecting materials like wood that are in high demand."
Chu Buwen added: "If we really want to prepare for winter, we'd better build a kang in the cave."
The topic changed so quickly that Wang Qingqing couldn't follow it for a moment: "Huh? They're going to make a kang already?"
It's still around 30 degrees Celsius outside, isn't it too early to discuss building a kang? Besides, this winter might not even get to dozens of degrees below zero, especially in Nanshi!
Jiang Muyun did the math for her: "There are ten of us. Chu Buwen, Wu Ge, and Wen Jie all live alone. If you guys live together, we'll need six kangs in total. We don't know how to make yellow mud bricks, so at most we can use some yellow mud instead of cement to bond them together. We'll have to go downtown to find red bricks for the rest."
"With so many bricks and enough wood to burn for a whole winter, if we don't bring them back to dry early while the sun is still shining, if winter comes suddenly like last year, we will have to rely on ultraviolet lamps for disinfection until the end of the year." Jiang Muyun said.
Wang Qingqing frowned when she heard her say that. "That's true. Sunlight disinfection is much more efficient."
Li Anxuan agreed: "More than six. My suggestion is that we should also build a large kang in the big cave. If this winter is the same as last year, it will be more fuel-efficient if we all live together."
Zhou Ying thought of her vegetable drying plan: "Then let's plant our recent vegetables together. Before winter comes, while there's still sunshine, we can dry all the harvested vegetables into dried vegetables."
After a few people discussed it, they immediately decided on a plan for preparing for the winter.
The first are Jiang Muyun and others who are currently in good health. They are responsible for going out every day to collect supplies, with wood and red bricks as the main targets.
Jiang Muyun and Chu Buwen simply removed the wheels of the bicycle and made a flatbed cart that could carry more supplies.
Qin Shiwen and Qin Shiwu, whose injuries have almost recovered, are mainly responsible for transporting supplies, processing supplies, drying and disinfecting, and taking care of vegetables. When the vegetables are ripe, they are also responsible for drying the vegetables according to the tutorial provided by Zhou Ying.
In order to recover from their wounds as quickly as possible, the two seriously injured soldiers are temporarily unable to make any major movements, but they can work with Qin Shiwu and the others to handle supplies.
One of them had an injured left arm, the other had an injured right shoulder, so together they had a pair of intact arms, one doing the work while the other supported them, and they were able to complete the tasks of chipping away the painted wood and knocking down the bricks. However, due to safety concerns, their speed was a bit slow.
The processed and dried wood and bricks were piled up in an open space with more stones.
After the acid rain, green plants obviously appeared on the mountain and the number of insects increased. The cave where they lived was not prone to insect pests because they often sprayed pesticides for disinfection, but the same could not be said for other uninhabited caves.
If the wood piled there ends up becoming a breeding ground for insects and ants, then all their work would be in vain.
When the people who went out to collect supplies came back at night, everyone gathered together to discuss the problem of making a kang.
Jiang Muyun said seriously, "Back when the internet was still around, wasn't there a book called 'Extreme Cold Survival Manual'? I don't know if you've read it. It has very detailed instructions on how to make a kang, and even blueprints."
Wang Qingqing raised her hand enthusiastically: "I've seen it! I even printed it out! But I forgot to bring it with me when I ran away during the tsunami."
Chu Buwen directly drew a diagram: "I specifically looked at the schematic diagram and the video tutorial recommended by the author. If I remember correctly, this is how it is done."
The original author Jiang Muyun took a look and found that the tutorial she had created at the time was probably related by ancestors from the same village.
Jiang Muyun clearly remembered that he had used the sickle kang type with a connected kang, which was the type with a "7" shape and could be used for cooking.
The one drawn by Chu Buwen is obviously a floor kang. To put it simply, the whole floor is covered with beds, and you can sleep on the spot as soon as you enter the room, wearing slippers.
But no one here is from the north, and no one has ever known how to make a kang before. At most, they have taken a look at it in the "Survival Manual" made by Jiang Muyun.
Now compare Chu Buwen's drawings with their memories. After all, they are stove flues and fire walls, so the similarity is enough to fool them.
However, this type of kang is indeed more suitable for their current situation, but the size needs to be controlled, and the location of the chimney is a bit troublesome.
It is definitely impossible to let them dig the mountain with their bare hands, so the smoke outlet can only be placed at the entrance of the cave.
The big cave was easy to deal with since they hadn't installed a door yet, but their own home was a problem.
A group of people studied the hole for a long time but could not come up with a solution that would satisfy both parties. In the end, they could only knock off a corner of the door panel to heat the kang and exhaust the smoke.
The bricks they have collected so far are far from enough to build seven kangs, and Qin Shiwen and Qin Shiwu have not yet mixed the yellow mud adhesive.
According to Zhou Ying, yellow mud walls in rural areas are usually built by mixing dry straw into the mud. Since they don't have dry straw, they can only use various rags instead, which should have a similar effect in increasing tensile strength.
However, Qin Shiwen and Qin Shiwu tried every possible method, but the yellow mud they mixed either didn't stick at all or cracked when it dried and baked. After finally getting the required firmness, the outer layer of the paste was still falling apart like crazy, as if it was about to become bald.
Mixing the mud required water, which was shared equally by each company. Every failure meant some water wasted. Even if they only tested a small amount at a time, the amount of waste was heartbreaking. Qin Shiwen was so worried that he broke out in a pimple.
Finally, Zhou Ying found a dry riverbed, dug up a pile of clay and pasted it on the outside, which solved the problem of falling off.
The first finished kang was born in the Wen family during the Qin Dynasty.
After a group of southern children came back from collecting supplies, they heard Qin Shiwen say that the kang had dried up. Their curiosity and sense of accomplishment soared to the highest point at the same time. They immediately hurriedly brought some wood and said they wanted to try to make a fire.
The kang was being heated in an environment with a temperature of over 20 degrees. Once the temperature rose, the cave became like an oven. Xiaobai and Dabai kicked their legs and flew out eight feet away.
After confirming that the flue was operating normally and the kang surface was heated evenly, Qin Shiwen quickly put out the fire with a basin of soil.
If she let it burn a little longer, she wouldn't have any sleep tonight.
A group of people who were sweating from the smoke hurried out of the cave to get some fresh air. As they walked towards the big cave, they sighed that the heated kangs in the north were quite effective, and they were worthy of being able to settle down in an environment of dozens of degrees below zero!
Qin Shiwen fanned himself for a long time before he calmed down from his excitement.
Qin Shiwen murmured, "That's not right. It's still a long way from winter. We're not even sure if there will be winter this year. Why are we so excited right now?"
This one sentence silenced everyone.
Wang Qingqing said quietly, "You really are good at chatting."
Jiang Muyun, a contestant in the atmosphere group, didn't care at all: "It won't burn me now, but I can use it as a bed. It's been a long time since we've properly slept in a bed."
“That’s right!”
According to the habits of many Chinese people, no matter how many things are put on the ground, they are still sleeping on the floor, which is completely different from the feeling of having a proper bed.
Everyone will soon become a bed-owner, which is also a happy event. We can continue to play music and dance!
Especially today they also harvested the first batch of dried leeks, so it was a double blessing.
Zheng Xiang said, "It's just that this kang can't be heated for a while. How about we block the chimney first to prevent insects from crawling into the house through the flue?"
Zhao Jiahao waved his good arm. "We have to block it! It's neither too hot nor too cold outside, just right. It's comfortable for us and the bugs too."
"Spring is here after all," Jiang Muyun said with a smile, dividing the bricks and wood they had brought back today into two piles. "I even saw a branch growing halfway up the mountain today. It looks like a sapling, and it's sprouting up quite quickly."
Jiang Muyun's first thought when she saw the sapling was that she wanted to take advantage of the situation and plant the fruit tree as well.
Many trees can be rooted by cuttings, such as apples, pomegranates, pears, etc.
Even if she couldn't plant the finished saplings, it would be okay to wait until there were more plants on the mountain and then mix a few branches in and try her luck.
As long as one of these seedlings grown from cuttings grows up and does not mutate into a strange taste or become toxic, they will have fruit to eat in the future.
Thinking further ahead, if the company that Li Anxuan and the others mentioned established a survival base around Nanshi and gradually developed and took shape, then the fruit trees on their mountain would become cash cows.
Jiang Muyun always tries to put the best first, but he also has to consider the realities: "There are more and more plants popping up on the mountain now. I plan to take Dabai and Xiaobai for a walk up the mountain sometime. If there are any poisonous ones, we'll get rid of them first."
After the end of the world, all kinds of poisonous animals and plants mutated. There are also many plants that are not poisonous themselves but have a poisonous smell. It would be troublesome if one of these appeared on their mountain.
Chu Buwen took out the little coal ball that had just jumped back into his pocket and said, "Let Dabai go. He's been sneaking out at night these past few days, and every day he comes back with his paws full of dirt. I followed him out a couple of days ago. He was out patrolling his territory at night, digging up all the poisonous grass."
Unlike mutated plants and animals, their appearance remained largely unchanged. Even so, few of them could recognize the names of the grasses on the mountain.
If Chu Buwen were asked what specific types of grass Dabai had dug out, he would definitely not be able to tell you, but he knew what those grasses looked like.
Chu Buwen said with such certainty that it was poisonous grass, so there must be one he knew among them.
Qin Shiwu asked curiously, "Dabai can also distinguish this? What about the grass it dug out?"
Chu Buwen said, "It's so small, it can only pull out the grass. It breaks the roots of the grass and leaves it there."
Fortunately, after the acid rain, they took into consideration that many plants were emerging on the mountain, so they did not restore the nail trap for the time being. Otherwise, Dabai would have been hit by a nail sooner or later if he had kept running like this.
Qin Shiwu was very excited: "What a waste to throw it away. Didn't we always think that the nail trap was too weak? Since Dabai can identify poisonous plants, why not get these plants out and poison the nails?"
"Then can we use all that stuff we cleared out earlier?" Jiang Muyun thought of the large amount of sulfur-containing dirt they had shoveled out after the smog. It was still in plastic bags, and he didn't know what to do with it.
These dirt might have the same origin as the things in the acid rain. Jiang Muyun was afraid that if they were buried carelessly, some strange things would grow into them.
Qin Shiwu shook his head: "Those things are not toxic enough, but they can contaminate wounds."
Zhao Jiahao was helping to collect the dried wood while listening to their conversation. Suddenly, he poked his head in and asked, "How can we medical students make poison if we don't learn how to do it?"
The question marks on Qin Shiwu's face were almost overflowing.
After a moment of silence at the cave entrance, there was a burst of wild laughter, and two rocks on the mountain were almost shaken down by them.
These are the exact words Qin Shiwu said when he was preparing the pesticide.
Qin Shiwu angrily threw the wooden board in his hand and was about to fight with Zhao Jiahao.
Jiang Muyun hurriedly tried to stop the fight. She hugged Qin Shiwu and said, "Don't throw things, brother! You can't beat him without a weapon!"
Zhou Ying shouted more sincerely than anyone else: "Beans! Beans! Don't step on them! They're almost cooked! I'll eat anyone who dares to touch them!"
Zhao Jiahao was bewildered. "Beans? What beans? Are we developing a new business?"
Zhou Ying dragged several pots out of the battle circle with a distressed look on her face. Inside were potato leaves that had already turned mostly yellow. "What other beans can we have at home? Potatoes! They might be your life-saving food in the future. Can you please be a little more respectful to them?"
