Chapter 20 New Weapons

Chapter 20 New Weapons

Just as Han Shuo was about to explain, Li Shurou walked over.

"All that nonsense, he's just trying to find medicine to treat you."

"Huh? There's someone else here?" The fat man had just woken up and hadn't noticed, only now realizing that there were more than just Han Shuo and his companion here.

"Yes, her name is Li Shurou, she's a doctor. I brought her to treat your wounds. She was rescued from the hospital," Han Shuo said with a smile. Ignoring Li Shurou, the fat man was overjoyed at having just woken up.

"A hospital? A place with such a dense population must have a lot of zombies, you..." The fat man didn't expect Han Shuo to run to such a dangerous place to save him. But before he could finish speaking, Li Shurou interrupted him.

"Shut up, you're a patient now. Take your medicine and drink your water!"

To Li Shurou, the two people in front of her were indeed a bit slow; in her eyes, the fat man was a patient. Perhaps due to her profession, the image of a doctor unconsciously surfaced in her mind.

"Oh, so fierce..." Li Shurou's attitude was firm, but the fat man obediently took the pills and swallowed them with water.

After more than a day and a night without drinking water, I finally felt my mouth was dry.

After drinking the water, the fat man's complexion improved considerably.

"How long will it take him to get up?" Han Shuo turned to Li Shurou and asked.

Li Shurou reached out and checked the fat man's temperature. "He should be fine now, the fever has gone down. It wasn't a serious illness, just a bit weak. Later, feed him something easy to digest."

After saying that, Li Shurou re-injected an IV into the fat man.

"He's in good health. He'll be able to get out of bed tomorrow, and in two days he'll be jumping around again. All that's left is to change the dressing on his wounds every day."

"Thanks."

After listening to Li Shurou's explanation, the fat man knew he was completely out of danger. He thanked Li Shurou.

He then turned to look at Han Shuo. Although Han Shuo hadn't described the specific details of his unconsciousness, the fat man could imagine the danger that had occurred. He was deeply moved.

"Alright, alright, enough talk. We'll have plenty of time to catch up once you're healed," Li Shurou said, turning and walking back to her room.

Han Shuo patted the fat man on the shoulder and told him to rest well. He also told him that the three of them were relatively safe for the time being and there was no need to worry. They would stay here for a few days until the fat man recovered before continuing their journey.

And so, Han Shuo fed the fat man some more food that evening.

In the time that followed, Han Shuo spent his time either searching for food or tinkering with things on the first floor of the hardware store. Fatty, on the other hand, was responsible for recovering from his injuries, and Li Shurou would check on him daily and change his dressings.

The three of them became increasingly familiar with each other.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and the fat man finally returned to normal.

...

"Hey sis, come change my dressing."

After recovering, the fat man was full of energy and started shouting at Li Shurou early in the morning. Perhaps because there was a woman by his side, the fat man became even more talkative.

"You fatso, are you even fully grown yet? How dare you call me that!" Li Shurou slammed open the door and went straight for the fat man, her eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Keep your voices down, you two."

Han Shuo called out to the two of them helplessly. He had become quite accustomed to this scene over the past two days. He was fiddling with something in his hands, playing along with them.

Although Li Shurou was angry, she still changed the fat man's dressing after kicking him twice.

After spending these past few days together, she's come to understand things better.

Han Shuo was the leader of the team. He was like a block of wood, always thinking and planning. Calm and composed—that was the impression Han Shuo left on her. Although very strong, he was incredibly boring.

The fat guy, on the other hand, was very outspoken and said whatever came to mind. He probably had some ability because he had spent a lot of time with Han Shuo, but he was too talkative and always annoyed Han Shuo.

Even so, Li Shurou still preferred to spend time with the fat man, at least it wasn't so boring.

They had been through life and death together and had a deep friendship.

She had also considered that with Han Shuo leading the team, their chances of survival were greatly increased. If she wanted to integrate more deeply into the team, she had to fulfill her responsibilities.

"Alright, Wu Chengbin! If you dare call me that again tomorrow, change your clothes!"

Li Shurou worked swiftly and quickly treated the fat man's wound.

"Alright, you two, stop fooling around. Come here, here's something nice for you!"

Han Shuo called the two of them over.

"Wow, what have you been up to these past few days? So many good things!" the fat man exclaimed.

At this moment, a pile of weapons was placed in front of the two of them.

These were all tools that Han Shuo had found at the hardware store over the past few days, which he gradually modified.

It was a spear with a wooden handle, which Han Shuo modified with a long-handled fork. He felt that it affected the balance, so he removed the spikes on both sides, leaving only the longest and sharpest one in the middle.

There was a long-handled axe, which was readily available. Han Shuo simply lengthened the end of the wood and sharpened it. This way, it could be used for both chopping and stabbing.

There were also some small, scattered pieces of iron, most of which were sharpened to a fine point and could be used as daggers or throwing knives.

During the last battle with the Corpse Dogs, Han Shuo had already seen the weakness of Fatty's steel pipe. Now, out of the three members of the team, only he had a suitable weapon.

Now that Fatty's injuries have healed, Han Shuo has decided to set off again soon, as he's not comfortable keeping him in the city all the time.

"You two each choose a main weapon. Fatty, don't use your steel pipe, it's not sharp enough. Li Shurou may be a woman, but she also needs to be able to fight."

Han Shuo continued speaking as he watched the two choose their weapons.

"Take one of the smaller metal pieces and use it as a dagger. I'll keep the rest as throwing knives. Don't throw them randomly if you two don't have good aim. We'll practice when we have a chance."

In the end, the fat man chose the axe; it was more powerful, but also heavier. After his recent training, the fat man was no less strong.

Li Shurou, on the other hand, chose a spear. It was lightweight and agile.

Han Shuo wasn't surprised by their choice. To put it simply, he created the product based on their individual characteristics.

"Make do with these for now, and we'll replace them with proper weapons later."

"That's good enough, that's good enough, much better than my old steel pipe." The fat man was obviously excited about his new weapon. He picked it up and swung it around, finding the weight just right.

"Damn it, watch out, you almost smacked my hair!"

Han Shuo smiled and shook his head when he saw the two of them start again.

Li Shurou's name sounds gentle, but she has a fiery temper. He clearly saw that the fat man's axe was at least half a meter away from Li Shurou. He really didn't know how someone with her personality could have chosen the profession of doctor.

The two argued for a while longer, and after Han Shuo's criticism, they lowered their voices somewhat this time.

After lunch.

Suddenly, the roar of a car engine rang out in the distance.

"Someone's coming!"

Han Shuo quickly silenced the two of them.

The three then hid in a corner and quietly observed through the window.
