Chapter 432 Easily Solved
Han Shuo frowned, glanced at the rabbit in the fat man's hand, and said softly.
"Keep your voice down. We're already quite deep inside. Don't alert them."
"Okay, okay..."
The fat man nodded, stopped examining the rabbit, took off his coat and put it inside, then tied it up and slung it over his shoulder.
His backpack was already full of various weapons, leaving no extra space, so this was the only way to do it.
After a brief, alarming incident, the two cautiously continued their advance.
...
About five minutes later, Han Shuo suddenly noticed a lot of footprints ahead.
The footprints left a dense trail in the mud, and even on a nearby tree branch, there were a few scraps of cloth that had been torn off.
"It looks like we're almost there. This dead forest is definitely not normal."
He thought to himself, because since they entered the dead forest, they had not found a single zombie-like creature.
It now appears that there are indeed zombies here, but rather that the area has been manipulated into the heart of the dead forest.
...
At this point, the two had unknowingly walked through the dead forest for nearly an hour.
Following the footprints on the ground, Han Shuo continued forward for a while and finally arrived at his destination.
And there it was!
Suddenly, a large open space appeared ahead, and the surrounding trees showed obvious signs of being felled by humans.
Through the gap, he saw a dark, horde of corpses standing silently in place, their numbers terrifying, stretching as far as the eye could see...
The next moment, he quickly positioned himself behind a dead tree and made a hand gesture towards the fat man.
The fat man immediately understood, found a hiding place, and together with Han Shuo, took out their binoculars.
...
"My God, so many zombies, it really looks like the scene we saw in the zombie city the other day."
The fat man couldn't help but shiver and said softly.
Han Shuo narrowed his eyes and gave a simple reply.
"Hmm, it seems the silver-haired guy wasn't lying after all. But did you notice? There are many zombies ahead, but no alien species."
"Yes, there isn't a single mutant. Strange, could it be that the Corpse-Wearing People can't control the mutants?"
The fat man was very puzzled and couldn't help but ask.
"Who knows? Let's go, let's go somewhere else."
Han Shuo didn't think about this question too much.
Seeing that the zombies in front of him were very dense and not a good place to attack, he quickly left a mark on a tree trunk next to him, and then carefully walked to the left.
The fat man said no more and followed closely behind him.
...
The two walked around the outer edge for about half a circle before finally finding a spot where zombies were relatively scarce.
Han Shuo decided to make his move right there, because they didn't have much time left.
As dusk approached, he needed to catch a zombie before darkness completely enveloped the area.
Otherwise, if it gets dark and the two of them still haven't left the withered forest, this night might really be difficult to get through...
However, before taking any action, he still needed to observe the surrounding environment to prevent any unexpected incidents.
Through the binoculars, he once again gazed intently ahead.
This time, he discovered a fence enclosed not far from the horde of corpses.
Through the gaps in the fence, Han Shuo could vaguely see a group of rabbits moving around inside.
Only then did he realize that the rabbit the fat man had caught on the way had escaped from here.
He then stopped dwelling on the matter and quickly shifted his attention elsewhere.
Half a minute later, Han Shuo put away the binoculars.
"Fatty, there aren't any lone zombies left. I'm going to go for it. You stay here to protect yourself and provide cover for me."
"Okay, I understand! Go ahead and relax."
The fat man nodded, and seeing Han Shuo begin to act, he quickly took out a small biological grenade from his backpack, ready to provide emergency support at any time.
...
Meanwhile, Han Shuo had quietly made his way to the vicinity.
"Phew~"
He looked at the nearly one hundred zombies in front of him and kept his composure.
Immediately afterward, his eyes changed, and he quickly slipped out between the two fallen, dead trees.
The next second, the moment he emerged, he was already standing in front of the zombies.
Han Shuo moved swiftly, and in the blink of an eye, he arrived next to the nearest zombie.
Without waiting for the other person to react, he pulled out a burlap sack and put it directly over the other person's head.
Then, just as he was feeling nervous, a delightful scene unfolded.
He saw that even when the nearby zombies saw him, growled, or even made tearing motions in their mouths, they did not take a single step forward.
"Damn it, they really are being manipulated. Why aren't they coming to eat me?"
Han Shuo exclaimed inwardly. Seeing this opportune moment, he didn't hesitate for a second. He simply tied the zombie a few times with a rope, then hoisted it onto his shoulder and ran back.
Even when he left, the zombies were still standing in the same spot.
At this moment, Han Shuo finally believed that there really was an evil organization controlling the zombies here.
Without their orders, the zombies couldn't move an inch.
...
Ten seconds later, even after Han Shuo ran back carrying the zombie, the fat man beside him was still in a daze.
He asked incredulously.
"Oh my God, it went so smoothly?"
"Stop dawdling and get out of here. Although we haven't seen the Corpse-Clad Man, I'm not sure if he noticed us when I made my move."
Han Shuo shouted as he quickly retreated outside.
"This is not a place to stay for long. If the zombie horde moves, it will be troublesome if they chase after us."
As soon as he finished speaking, the fat man realized what was happening. He put away the bio-grenade in his hand and then turned and ran.
...
In the withered forest, Han Shuo ran outside, his brow beaded with sweat.
Along the way, he no longer cared about making any noise; at this moment, all he wanted was to get out of the dead forest as quickly as possible.
The fat man glanced back every now and then, and only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that no zombies were chasing after him.
"Haha! This is so easy. Those zombies are like idiots."
A smile appeared on Han Shuo's face, and within a few minutes, the two of them had already run a long distance.
At this moment, he felt much more at ease.
To be honest, even if he were discovered by that evil organization while he was capturing zombies, he wouldn't be too panicked.
After all, that horde of zombies was composed of ordinary zombies, and the two of them were much faster than those zombies at their running speed...
The journey back was much smoother than the way there.
Because they were both running at full speed, they were out of the forest in less than half an hour.
And so, the two of them completed the mission with ease.
...
