Chapter 80 The Enemy is About to Arrive on the Battlefield
"Xiao Jiu, are you sure you really saw a gun in their hands?" The one-eyed woman's eyes were fierce.
"Boss, I would never lie! Today I saw the man who came out on patrol carrying a gun, and I have a feeling that the others must have more!"
Xiao Jiu felt genuine fear towards the woman in front of him. He knew that this one-eyed woman was able to become the leader of a camp of more than 20 people by means of ruthless and insidious methods!
Xiao Jiu dared not say any more nonsense and told him everything he had seen that day in detail.
"Besides the guy with the gun, there's another person in the building wearing a military uniform. Boss, do you think there would only be one gun in the team if there were soldiers?"
The woman sat back down in her chair and pondered for a while.
"Are there soldiers? Are all four of them soldiers?"
"There should only be one of them. The other two don't seem to fit the description. I saw a medicine box in the other woman's hand, so she might have been a doctor before."
Unbeknownst to Han Shuo, Xiao Jiu had been observing the area for two or three days. Through Han Shuo and the others' daily actions, Xiao Jiu's analysis turned out to be quite accurate.
"Boss! If we can take the guns from them, things will be much easier from now on."
"Of course I know, but unfortunately we don't have guns. Although we outnumber them, we don't stand a chance of winning in a direct confrontation!"
Hearing the one-eyed woman say this, Xiao Jiu became a little anxious. The boss he knew was not someone who would give up so easily.
"So we're just giving up? Aren't we going to try again?"
"snort!"
The one-eyed woman snorted coldly, a wicked smile playing on her lips.
"Give up? How can you let a duck that's already in your hand fly away?"
"So, what do you mean, boss?"
The one-eyed woman tapped her head with her long, slender fingers and spoke.
"If you can't win by force, you have to use your brain. Little Jiu, do you understand what it means to outsmart others?"
"Boss, Xiao Jiu will obey your orders!"
Sure enough, Xiao Jiu was very excited and replied respectfully that her boss wasn't so easily given up.
"Take another person with you and keep an eye on things these next two days, night and night. If there's anything unusual at the factory, tell me immediately. We can't let them get away!"
"As for the guns! Hmph, I'll find a way to make them obediently deliver them to me!"
"Yes, sir!"
...
...
Factory direction.
Han Shuo had no idea that just now, the actions and information of the four of them had been completely exposed to others.
Little did he know that a few kilometers away, in a camp of more than 20 people, a pair of ruthless eyes were watching them intently and plotting against them!
...
"Although we came up empty-handed, at least we didn't find too many zombies nearby."
Han Shuo muttered to himself as he toured the factory, but found nothing of value.
Before we knew it, another day had passed, and the sky gradually darkened.
Han Shuo walked back into the building and went to the room where he was temporarily stationed.
"How are you three doing?"
At this moment, Fatty and Xiao Zhao were lying on the bed on either side of each other, while Li Shurou was flipping through a book she had found somewhere.
"I'm not vomiting or having diarrhea anymore, but I just feel completely weak." The fat man listlessly looked up at Han Shuo.
"Brother Han, I'm about the same, I'm a bit weak," Xiao Zhao added.
"Who told you two to eat so much? Now you're enjoying yourself! Come on, take your medicine first."
Li Shurou was somewhat gloating, but she still took good care of the two of them, stepped forward, and helped them take the medicine.
Han Shuo gave a wry smile. He remembered that Li Shurou wasn't like this before; in fact, she was even colder than him.
I guess she's been spending too much time with the fat guy, and she's kind of caught his gloating habit...
"Hey, hey, hey? Rou-mei, how can you talk like that? We're doing this out of selfless courage, absorbing so much toxins for you and Han Shuo. Instead of being grateful, you're criticizing us. Xiao Zhao, isn't that right?"
The fat man was still as talkative as ever.
"Yes, yes, yes, Fatty is right!"
Although Xiao Zhao usually appears calm and steady, like an honest kid, after spending more time with everyone and becoming more familiar with them, he has begun to reveal his true nature, and his behavior has become much more unconventional.
The two of them spoke in unison, leaving Li Shurou speechless, as if every word they said made sense.
Of course, these are all fallacies.
But I must say, the fat man really knows how to win over his followers and manipulate people.
"Alright, Shurou, stop arguing with them. We can't win an argument with two people."
Han Shuo came over and tried to mediate, and the three of them finally calmed down.
"You two should talk less and be nicer to Shurou. Without her, would you have recovered so quickly?"
"That's true," the two admitted.
"Han Shuo, when do we plan to leave?"
Li Shurou chimed in from the side and asked a question.
"Their condition will probably take another two or three days, until they're completely healed. I just checked, and the area seems quite safe," Han Shuo replied.
"All right."
The three of them were somewhat disappointed upon receiving Han Shuo's response.
Although most of us were bedridden for the past week, we did get to relax for a few rare days.
No need to worry about zombies outside, and no need to travel in fear anymore.
However, everyone knew that this was not a long-term solution. Only by successfully reaching the underground research institute would they be truly safe and the situation would be calmed down.
"What's wrong? You guys don't seem too happy. How about you go find a few more cans of food, Fatty, and we can all stay in this factory for a few more days?"
Han Shuo saw through their thoughts at a glance and said jokingly.
"No, no, no, it's more comfortable not to be sick." The fat man quickly waved his hand in refusal.
"Take a proper rest and recuperate."
After Han Shuo finished speaking, he ignored everyone and, before it got completely dark, spread out the map and began to study it carefully.
In the southernmost center of the map, Xiao Zhao drew a circle with a red pen, because this is the location of the underground research institute.
Currently, Han Shuo and the others are located in the suburbs of a city called G.
G City is located in the central-eastern part of the country, so the two places are still quite far apart.
However, Han Shuo was not discouraged; he was never one to give up easily.
The destination was quite far away, but Han Shuo kept searching for the route on the map.
Before they knew it, it had completely darkened, and Han Shuo put away the map.
The four of them did not light a fire for warmth. Others outside might not know this, but Han Shuo knew that a fire in the suburbs could easily attract other infected creatures.
Moreover, we're no longer in the north, and it's not unbearably cold here.
And so, by the light of the moon, the group ate a simple meal, filled their stomachs, chatted for a while, and then went to rest.
