Chapter 21 Strong Man
Soon, a jeep stopped, positioned directly in front of Han Shuo and the others, allowing Han Shuo a clear view of the situation.
The Jeep was turned off and the door was opened, and five people got out.
All five were men, dressed in identical camouflage uniforms.
Han Shuo became cautious because he saw that all five men were holding guns!
"Han Shuo, they have guns! Judging from their attire, they seem to be military personnel."
The fat man whispered to himself.
"Shh! Let's observe and confirm first."
Han Shuo did not appear rashly. If these people were really military personnel, Han Shuo would not mind revealing his identity and joining them.
Han Shuo has always held soldiers in high esteem.
...
"Captain Wang, why don't you rest here for a while?"
One of the tall, thin men spoke to a strong man who appeared to be a leader.
The strong man was about two meters tall and his whole body was covered in muscles.
Han Shuo's first impression upon seeing him was that the man was like a human tank. The fat man was already fat enough, but compared to this man, he looked like a doll.
Although the man was broad-shouldered and burly, he did not appear bulky at all.
"This, this physique, he must weigh at least 400 pounds! And he's so strong too. Is he a bodybuilding champion?" The fat man was also shocked by the strong man, looked down at his own belly, and felt a little envious.
The strong man, Team Leader Wang, looked up at the sky.
"Yes, let's rest for a while. There's still time to get out of the city."
Then Han Shuo saw the five people sitting together, taking out food from the car and eating.
Presumably because they all had guns, the five men weren't very nervous. Instead of looking for a house, they rested next to the car.
It was more of a casual chat than a break.
"Gao Zai, have you gained weight recently? You used to be as thin as a bamboo pole, but now you look a bit chubby."
One of the men joked.
Gao Zai was the tall, thin man who had just been talking to Captain Wang.
"Haha, I have gained a little weight," Gao Zai laughed and replied.
"In this situation, it's not easy for others to find food, but you're doing well, and you're even gaining weight."
...
Han Shuo learned from the group that these five people must possess strong survival skills, undoubtedly due to their guns. This was especially evident in their expressions and demeanor. Surprisingly, they had been living quite comfortably since the catastrophe.
Team Leader Wang didn't join in the others' chatter. He looked around, seemingly puzzled by the absence of zombies. After observing again and finding nothing unusual, he stopped thinking about it.
Soon, Han Shuo saw that Captain Wang's expression suddenly brightened, as if Captain Wang had thought of something.
About 20 minutes later, Gao Zai got up and walked to Wang's side.
"Captain Wang, we've rested enough, how about we continue our journey?"
"Wait a little longer!"
Team Leader Wang closed his eyes to rest, and casually replied with a sentence.
"Oh." Gao Zai clearly obeyed Captain Wang's instructions without asking why. He didn't bother him any further and returned to his original spot to continue chatting with the other three.
"Han Shuo, what do you think Captain Wang is waiting for?"
The fat man looked puzzled and turned to ask Han Shuo in a low voice.
Han Shuo shook his head. After observing for a long time, he couldn't discern anything amiss; the group's behavior remained perfectly normal. He also didn't glean any useful information from their casual conversation.
"Should we go over there? They have guns. It would be safer if we went with them."
Li Shurou asked from the side. Although she knew Han Shuo was quite capable, in this day and age, no matter how well one wielded a cold weapon, it was not as effective as a bullet.
"Let's see what they're waiting for. If there's nothing major going on, we'll go out when they're ready to leave." Han Shuo wasn't insistent; having a safer backer was a better option for everyone.
After Han Shuo finished speaking, the three of them fell silent and continued to observe quietly.
About ten minutes later, Han Shuo saw that Captain Wang, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes and turned to look warily into the distance.
Han Shuo quickly became serious, sharpening his eyes and staring in the direction of Captain Wang's gaze.
Five seconds later, Han Shuo heard a commotion, followed by a ragged man running rapidly towards them. Behind him were at least 30 zombies.
"Help! Help me!" From the man's position, he could already see Captain Wang and his group below. The man's face showed some joy as he shouted for help.
"A survivor? Is Captain Wang waiting for a survivor?" Han Shuo thought to himself.
"Also, this person has incredibly sharp hearing; they can detect sounds from so far away!"
Han Shuo continued to observe.
Team Leader Wang looked at the survivors in the distance, shook his head, and sighed.
At this moment, Gao Zai and the others also stood up from the ground. They raised their guns and came to Captain Wang's side.
The four men showed no sign of tension, and Han Shuo knew that this stemmed from their confidence in guns.
If a few people have good marksmanship, they can easily take out more than 30 zombies without each person needing to use a whole magazine!
Captain Wang reached out and pressed down on the guns in Gao Zai and the others' hands.
"I'll handle this. Don't waste your bullets. It's been a day since we've stretched our muscles. It's time to loosen up."
Seeing that Captain Wang was about to make a move, Gao Zai and the others looked on with anticipation and put down their guns.
Han Shuo, on the second floor, was even more surprised and narrowed his eyes. He had always been very curious about this guy known as Captain Wang, especially his exaggerated muscles, which were clearly not just for show.
"What? Is he going to charge in alone? He doesn't have a gun!" the fat man said in surprise. He felt that this guy called Captain Wang was a fool, having a gun but not using it, and insisting on showing off.
With over 30 zombies around, charging in alone would be tantamount to suicide.
Han Shuo was naturally aware of this, having fought against zombies for so long.
Han Shuo estimated that he could only face a maximum of about 10 at a time. He would also need a Tang sword. Zombies don't have any combat skills; they rely solely on their physical instincts.
The most important thing in fighting zombies is that they don't feel pain; unless you hit their head, they will keep attacking. Another crucial point is that you can't get injured!
Even if Han Shuo could fight 10 of them, he would never take risks. He would usually retreat to play it safe when facing 5 or more at the same time.
However, Han Shuo always sensed that Captain Wang possessed a mysterious confidence. Things weren't as simple as he thought!
...
Then, Captain Wang took off his jacket, revealing that he was only wearing a tank top underneath.
He stretched his arms briefly, then quickly rushed forward.
At this moment, the zombies were less than 50 meters away from the group.
The instant Wang rushed into the zombies!
The fat man's eyes widened, and he exclaimed in disbelief.
"Holy crap, that's amazing!!"
