Chapter 128 Searching for the Armory
Before we knew it, two days had passed.
The three remained in the room without taking any substantial action.
Han Shuo wasn't in a hurry, and Fatty and Li Shurou were even happier to have some free time. After all, days without having to rush or fight were rare for them.
Over the past two days, Han Shuo has been using binoculars to draw a detailed map of the military base. He needs to understand the layout before he can proceed with his plans; otherwise, he'll just be wandering around aimlessly like a headless fly.
Of course, the map is very detailed, but it is not complete because there are blind spots and some places that cannot be seen from here.
The most crucial point is that he couldn't pinpoint the exact location of the armory within his line of sight.
You see, they came specifically for the various weapons and ammunition in the armory.
As for the fat guy and his companion, they practically turned the building upside down. Besides a few clean bedding sets, they also found two binoculars, so now each of the three of them had one.
This building is a dormitory building.
Today, after the three of them finished lunch, Han Shuo was still by the window, looking out with his binoculars. After a while, he put away the binoculars and turned to walk towards the fat man.
"Fatty, let's go, stretch our legs, come with me for a bit."
"Huh? Where are we going?" The fat man asked reluctantly, lying on the bed with his legs crossed.
When he had free time, his laziness returned, and he went back to his old life as a homebody.
"Stop being lazy, hurry up. The view is limited here. There's a building over there that looks like a command center. Let's sneak over there and I'll see what's behind the command center."
After Han Shuo finished speaking, he immediately began packing his things.
"Oh, okay."
The fat man finally got out of bed, and soon the two of them had each grabbed their weapons.
"Shurou, you stay here and keep watch for us. If a large number of zombies head in our direction, alert us with the communicator."
Han Shuo gave Li Shurou another instruction, since the fourth floor offered a better view and allowed her to see the situation in the distance.
“Okay, don’t worry.” Li Shurou readily agreed.
"I'm leaving. Take care of yourself."
"Okay, you two be careful too!"
Han Shuo waved goodbye to the fat guy, went down to the first floor, and carefully walked out of the dormitory building.
The dormitory building was several hundred meters away from the command center, a distance that would be quite troublesome for the two of them to get there.
"Fatty, try not to fire if you can avoid it. Try to resolve this with only melee weapons," Han Shuo whispered.
"Understood, Fatty. My shield and axe aren't to be trifled with either," the fat man said confidently.
They both knew that there were too many zombies in the distance. Killing a few on the road was fine, but as long as there was gunfire, it would inevitably attract a large number of zombies.
Han Shuo looked around, positioned himself against the surrounding zombies, and immediately set off.
"Follow me!"
After saying that, without waiting for the fat man's reply, he quickly ran forward. About 30 meters away, there were two abandoned cars parked together.
Soon, Han Shuo arrived at the car's location, quickly dispatched two zombies next to it with his knife, and then hid inside the car as cover.
The fat man followed closely behind and also hid inside. The two of them made it through the first step relatively smoothly.
"Shurou, what's the situation over there?" Han Shuo asked through the communicator.
"You two are safe around here, but you can't go any further than the car about 50 meters ahead. There are a lot of zombies behind that car, and it's a blind spot that you can't see."
Li Shurou kept a close eye on the two of them from upstairs with binoculars.
"Okay, I understand."
Han Shuo responded, then turned to the fat man and said.
"Going straight ahead is impossible, let's take a detour."
"Okay, I'll listen to you." When the fat man is serious about something, he's very obedient and reliable.
"Let's go hide among the containers on the right."
Soon, the two moved to the back of the container.
And so they moved on, sometimes hiding, sometimes dodging, sometimes slashing...
It took Han Shuo more than half an hour to walk just a few hundred meters to reach the building that served as the command center.
As soon as he entered the building, Han Shuo quickly locked the door, because dozens of zombies were already chasing after him from afar.
After exchanging a glance with the fat man, Han Shuo rushed to the top floor at top speed. Since it was a temporary stop, the two of them did not need to completely clear out the zombies here.
...
At this moment, the two rushed into a very large room. As soon as they entered, Han Shuo blocked the door with his body.
Outside the door, four zombies were frantically ramming against it. The reason Han Shuo didn't deal with them was that there were more zombies surging towards them from the corridor.
It's clear that the zombies in the command center building are different from those in the dormitory building. Instead of being confined to rooms, most of the zombies are gathered in spacious areas such as the corridors.
"Fatty, hurry up, move something to block the door."
"Okay, I'm coming right away!"
The fat man quickly killed several zombies inside the house with an axe, then pushed over tables and other heavy objects to block the door.
A few minutes later, the door was completely blocked. Judging from the situation, even if several zombies were ramming the door from outside, they wouldn't be able to get in anytime soon.
That's enough. After all, Han Shuo only wanted to observe the distance from here temporarily, and he didn't plan to go back through this door.
The two men brought ropes, and after they finished their search, they climbed down through the window.
After a brief period of safety, Han Shuo briefly looked around.
This was indeed the command center. In the middle was a long table with computers, communicators, and other complex electronic devices that Han Shuo couldn't understand.
Opposite the long table, a wall has been transformed into a screen, which has been divided into dozens of smaller screens.
These small screens monitor various corners of the military base.
However, the power had been out for a long time, and the screen was currently completely black.
Without looking any further, Han Shuo said, "Alright, Fatty, forget about what's outside. Quickly get out your binoculars and come with me to search the area."
"Looking for what?" the fat man asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Arsenal!"
"good."
The two men took out their binoculars and began to search carefully.
Han Shuo watched for a minute, then frowned and muttered to himself.
"That can't be right. How come we can't find the weapons depot in such a large military base?"
Just then, the fat man excitedly jogged over.
"Are you stupid? Use your imagination! Such an important place as an armory, if it's not built above ground, then it must be built underground, right?"
As he spoke, the fat man pointed into the distance.
After hearing what the fat man said, Han Shuo immediately realized what was going on, quickly raised his binoculars, and looked in the direction the fat man was pointing.
Sure enough, 200 meters to the north, there was an inconspicuous little mound, and there was a big gate there.
The door was slightly ajar. Han Shuo had only glanced at it briefly and hadn't paid much attention before, but now, upon closer inspection, he noticed something amiss.
This is clearly an entrance leading underground!
It turns out that the armory really was built underground.
