You are a traitor
Wen Yan carried Jiang Lin on his back and walked towards Base A. They were walking in front and the surroundings were very quiet.
Jiang Lin leaned on his back and could hear the heartbeat coming from his chest.
"Wen Yan, I think I like you a little bit." Jiang Lin said sullenly.
Wen Yan almost tripped over the small stones in front of him. Although Jiang Lin's voice was very soft, he still heard it clearly. She said that she liked him a little.
Jiang Lin looked at the tips of Wen Yan's ears, which were rapidly turning red, and blew a breath: "Why are your ears so red?"
The heartbeat in my ears became faster.
"We're almost at your house." Wen Yan said dryly, but his heart was already beating fast.
"Thank you." Jiang Lin got off his back and kissed him lightly on the side of his face.
About three or four minutes later, Wen Yan was still standing there in a daze. Jiang Lin had already returned to his house, and he was still savoring the light kiss they had just shared.
"Minister, are you okay?" A member of the special forces team asked worriedly when he saw Wen Yan standing alone on the side of the road, covering his face and grinning foolishly.
Wen Yan's expression quickly turned cold and returned to his expressionless state: "Yeah." He responded lightly and left.
The special forces members were left looking at each other in bewilderment. Was he dazzled just now?
"Host, are you in love with him?" 110's voice sounded quite joking.
"I can't say I like you, at most I have a good impression of you." Jiang Lin suddenly became a little flustered when it asked him this question.
110 was speechless. If it had a body now, it would definitely roll its eyes at Jiang Lin. He kissed someone he didn't like, even though he clearly liked her.
"Okay, I'm going to rest now. Don't disturb me." Jiang Lin lay on the bed and blocked all the roads before 110 could speak.
The system looked at her still active brain waves and decided not to continue mocking its host.
Song Si from Base B looked at Shen Xu, who had suddenly become depressed, and sighed, squatting beside him. "I'm talking to you. You tried so hard to get out when you were at the bottom of the sea, but what are you doing like this now? Are you scared?"
“If you’re afraid, go back to the sea, return to Utopia, and continue being a turtle.”
"The next generation cannot be guaranteed, but we should be able to survive for many years." Song Sixiang went to the sunroom and the gym he often went to.
It’s a pity that she can’t go back now. If Shen Xu really wants to go back, she would be happy to go back to the bottom of the sea.
"Who said I'm scared? I'm just not used to it." Shen Xu stood up from the ground.
Song Si glanced at him and said, "Okay, I misjudged you. Come on, Captain Shen." She patted Shen Xu's shoulder.
He grabbed her hand and said, "You are also Captain Song. I want to see the complete patrol list tomorrow."
After saying that, Shen Xu walked towards the office without looking back. He must become stronger quickly and adapt to life on land as soon as possible. Those who cannot adapt will not be able to survive.
"Tsk tsk tsk, it's really unnecessary to worry about you." Song Si looked at the lighthouse in the distance. It seemed that she would have to stay up late to work. Chen Wei was still too wise, she secretly sighed in her heart.
Shen Wei, who was lying in the sun room drinking lemonade, sneezed loudly. Could it be that he had a cold? Why did he sneeze so often recently?
Shenmu fled back to City A in a panic, still in shock and angry at Chen Guanghai's mistakes at work.
"Jiang Lin has been away from City A for so long, and you didn't even know about it! Your intelligence error this time has set our territory expansion back a lot!"
Chen Guanghai stood in front of the sacred tree with his back bent. It was not that he wanted to bend, but the huge pressure made it impossible for him to stand up straight. This was the first time he encountered such an angry sacred tree.
"It was my subordinate's fault. It was almost there. If there was nothing wrong with the mutant, I would have told you this news before Jiang Lin found you." Chen Guanghai tried hard to put the blame on others for the mistake.
"I understand. I will look into this matter."
"But I am very disappointed in you."
Chen Guanghai's back stiffened, and the bone-chilling cold made his brain go blank for a moment.
"Since you've been with me for so long, I forgive you this time. I hope it won't happen again."
"Yes." Chen Guanghai felt the pressure on his back disappear. He raised his head and looked at the sacred tree. The sacred tree waved its branches, signaling him to leave.
He left with a gloomy face. Chen Guanghai couldn't fall asleep lying in the hammock. After finally falling asleep in a daze, he suddenly dreamed of Wen Tingjun's kind smile.
Cui Yawen's calm, slightly wrinkled face, and Chen Huimin and Chen Yu, whose heads were bleeding, stared at him blankly: "Dad, why?"
Chen Guanghai suddenly woke up from his dream. He gasped for breath and picked up the water next to him and drank it in big gulps.
He was not wrong, he would not be wrong. Chen Guanghai looked down at his hands, trying hard to get rid of the strange emotions from his mind.
But his hands couldn't stop shaking, and finally the water cup fell to the ground. The glass shattered into pieces instantly, and many fragments pierced his legs.
But the wound that was bleeding just now healed in an instant.
He watched everything happening before his eyes and felt a tightness in his chest, as if something had really gone off track and he could never go back.
Li Qi was sleeping soundly in the bedroom, but she woke up suddenly the next second, and a familiar yet unfamiliar voice came to her mind.
"Li Qi, come find me."
She felt something was wrong. Shenmu usually wouldn't look for someone in the middle of the night. Thinking of what she had done before, she felt a little panicked. Qu Mo, who was sleeping next to her, was woken up by her noise.
"What's wrong?"
"Shenmu asked me to come over." Li Qi's voice was soothing: "You can continue to sleep, it's okay."
Qu Mo frowned and lifted the quilt: "Why do I call you over now? I'll go with you." Qu Mo looked at Li Qi and saw panic on her face for some reason.
The clone of the sacred tree in the southern base has grown to the height of five or six stories. Its canopy blocks out the sun and looks spectacular, but there is also an inexplicable sense of oppression.
"You're here." Shenmu's voice showed no emotion.
"What do you want from me?"
"Li Qi, I thought I treated you well, why did you betray me?"
The branches of the sacred tree stretched out towards Li Qi, strangling her throat without explanation: "I never thought that the key to sabotaging this operation would be you."
"You are a traitor!"
Li Qi was strangled to the point of being unable to breathe. Qu Mo rushed forward to attack the branches of the sacred tree, but was swept ten meters away and fell to the ground in pain.
"Tell me why?" The branches of the sacred tree loosened a little, and Li Qi immediately gasped for breath. The feeling of suffocation just now was really uncomfortable.
"No reason, I just did it because I wanted to." Her eyes were fixed on the giant tree in front of her.
Qu Mo probably knew what had happened. Li Qi had betrayed the sacred tree, and this inhuman monster was likely to kill her.
"It was my idea. I instructed her to do it." Qu Mo shouted.
"Do you think I'm a stupid human? If I want to know what's going on in your head, it will only take a moment." Qu Mo was swept out by the branches again and tied to the ground by vines.
"Do you know what the consequences will be if you betray me?" The thorny vines of the sacred tree stroked Li Qi's face, leaving a long bloody mark on her face. This time, Li Qi's body did not start any self-repair.
The sacred tree in the sky was watching Li Qi's eyes.
She saw panic, fear, and confusion in it, but no regret.
The branch suddenly loosened and Li Qi fell to the ground.
"You are the one I chose, but now it is clear that my cooperation has come to an end. I will give you a life, but I will also take back my gift to you."
"Where do you think you can go if you leave me?"
"Jiang Lin won't accept you. You've killed so many people, and everyone is afraid of you. You can no longer be a human being. You will become a monster caught between two creatures."
Li Qi laughed, his eyes showing a genuine gratitude: "Thank you for sparing my life. Don't worry about the rest. I have my own way of living."
"Hmph, arrogant." Shenmu personally erased Li Qi's spiritual nodes in his spiritual sea of consciousness.
But what she didn't expect was that Qu Mo's spiritual nodes were rapidly turning gray.
Shenmu had experienced Jiang Lin using his mental power to erase Zhong Xin’s spiritual nodes, but how did Qu Mo, this inconspicuous guy, do it?
"Please, let me go with her." Qu Mo's voice trembled a little. He was afraid that if he did not cut off contact with Shenmu, living with Li Qi would be like Shenmu's surveillance.
"Forget it, I'm just trying to be a good person for once." Shenmu's tone didn't change, but her heart was still weak. She didn't want to let Qu Mo go.
But he actually broke free from the mind control on his own.
Li Qi and Qu Mo, who had lost their regenerative abilities, walked out of the southern base with life-threatening injuries.
"Will you blame me?" Li Qi looked at Qu Mo with some guilt.
"No, because you are my only spiritual support from the beginning to the end." Qu Mo smiled, accidentally pulled the wound on his face, and couldn't help but cry out in pain.
Li Qi looked at him and smiled, but tears fell as she smiled: "I will let you live, do you believe me?"
"Believe, always believe."
The morning sun had risen, but the land was still quiet. The golden light shone on them, and Li Qi rarely felt the warmth of the sun.
"Let's go." Qu Mo was more seriously injured than her, so Li Qi could only carry him on her back.
In City B, Jiang Lin was awakened by the first ray of sunlight. She was still a little sleepy, but the communicator kept ringing.
"You'd better have something very important." Her tone revealed a faint smile.
Tang Xiaoyan knew Jiang Lin had woken up when she heard this: "Of course, do you want to come over? I think I've discovered the direction of the ocean changes."
Tang Xiaoyan's voice was hoarse with excitement. Jiang Lin frowned and asked, "How long have you not slept?"
"Two nights, I think. Maybe three? Anyway, it's not important. Come here."
There was a busy tone on the communicator. Jiang Lin was speechless about this workaholic. She put on her clothes and walked out the door.
