Landing in City C

Landing in City C

Returning to her house, she breathed a long sigh of relief, and the tension in her body and emotions slowly relaxed.

Jiang Lin took a hot shower and lay down on the bed. She fell asleep soon after. She had hardly any rest during her time in City C. Once she relaxed, she quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Shen Xu mustered up his energy and sent a message to City C, which was still on the seabed, informing them that the Homo sapiens in City C had been basically dealt with.

Jiang Lin slept until the next morning and was awakened by the morning light.

"City C has decided to go ashore today." Shen Xu got the exact news early in the morning and came to Base A.

"Are we going to help?"

Jiang Lin glanced at the estimated number of people and supplies coming from City C. "No need. City C is well-preserved thanks to Homo sapiens. It should be easy to find shelter. And there are no signs of mutant plants for the time being."

It was originally a metal city with little exposed land and greenery, so there was no trace of mutated plants.

Shen Xu paused: "I plan to form an alliance with them."

"Alliance?" Jiang Lin frowned. "Do you have a specific plan?"

"Yes, I asked them to share resources with me." Shen Xu's tone was calm, obviously after careful consideration. The dark circles under his eyes showed that he had not rested for a long time.

"I don't plan to get involved with them for the time being." The overall operation of Base A is very smooth and the resources are sufficient. Jiang Lin doesn't know the people in City C and doesn't plan to take any risks.

"I'll give them a small base in City B." Shen Xu drew a circle on the map.

This small base is located on the edge, quite far away from Base A and Base B, and its equipment is not very complete, so it has never been used.

Jiang Lin took a look and said nothing.

This short meeting ended quickly and Shen Xu returned to his office.

Song Si walked in: "Didn't you sleep last night?" She now admired Shen Xu a little. This person simply didn't need to rest and was always busy.

"Well, I'll sleep for two hours." He walked to the folding bed in the office.

Shen Xu originally didn't want to establish close ties with City C in such a short period of time, but he couldn't refuse the conditions offered by City C.

They have mature automation and intelligent equipment, as well as maintenance personnel. Shen Xu needs them to come and build the overall system of Base B to facilitate personnel management.

Song Si silently closed the office door and walked out.

On the other side, Wen Yan and Jiang Lin had a rare moment of free time, wandering around outside.

"Have you ever considered the issue that Shen Xu has raised now? Base A will inevitably have to come into contact with several other bases in the future." Wen Yan said.

Now more and more people are coming up from the underwater base, and they don’t know what Shenmu’s next move will be and the development of the mutant plants.

"Let's talk about the future later. It's impossible to predict it now." Jiang Lin has no such plans for the time being.

Wen Yan: "There's another reason City C is called Metal City. It's because they produce a special metal that's used in most of the protective clothing we use now."

"It would be a good thing if they could restart mining and start the original clothing factory."

Most of the combat resources in the warehouse now are left over from before. City A and City B do not have the ability to reproduce them, but City C does.

They also have intact factories and unique geographical resources.

Jiang Lin raised her eyebrows. She didn't quite understand these things.

"Maybe you can have them customize a weapon for you."

“They can surprise you with these things.”

After Wen Yan finished speaking, he looked into her eyes and clearly felt that Jiang Lin was interested in City C.

"But there's no rush now. Let's wait until they successfully reach land." Wen Yan looked ahead and the two of them unknowingly walked to the vicinity of the cafeteria.

Since arriving at Base A, Jiang Lin has never been to the cafeteria; meals are always delivered to his door by the base.

Cui Yawen was in charge of almost all the logistics. Jiang Lin walked in, wondering what new things had been grown recently. Breakfast was already past, and it wasn't time for lunch yet.

It was very empty inside, and Cui Yawen was confirming the quantity of food to be supplied and the menu for the next few days with the staff inside.

"Plants are really not in short supply now, but meat is still a big gap." Cui Yawen and the other two sat in a corner.

There were originally many chickens in the first base, but due to the previous earthquake, there are only a few left. Even if there are still some, we have to wait for them to lay eggs.

The development of animal husbandry was very difficult in the end times, and only a few animals that could be hatched remained.

Cui Yawen hopes that there will be cities that develop animal husbandry well, so that she may be able to eat meat freely in the future.

"Are there no animals around City B anymore?"

"We sent people to look for them before, but couldn't find them." Cui Yawen felt helpless. The wild animals had disappeared, and she had no way to raise them in a centralized manner.

City A.

Chen Guanghai has searched all the places where the mutant plants exist, but still hasn't found what Shenmu said. He returned to the southern base somewhat helplessly.

"I still can't find it. I've searched almost all of City A, but I haven't found what you're talking about."

After hiding for a while, Shenmu's mentality has improved a lot: "Impossible, I can feel its presence, it is still very weak now."

Chen Guanghai sighed. This was really too difficult for him.

"Thank you for the time. I will find the exact location as soon as possible." The sacred tree shook its branches. She would not be able to rest easy until she found this thing that suddenly appeared and brought her a sense of crisis.

She felt the heat in the air. It seemed like she hadn't seen her old friend Jiang Lin for a long time, and she didn't know how Jiang Lin was doing now.

Shenmu laughed and slowly formed a plan in his mind.

Shen Xu arrived in City C at the appointed time, just in time to see several huge submarines slowly rising from the sea level.

The underwater base in City C is a movable submarine, which is much more flexible than those in City A and City B.

The submarine in front was the largest and cast a large shadow on the beach, almost blocking out the sun behind it.

Shen Xu stood in the shadows, not knowing what he was thinking.

"Captain Shen, long time no see." Song Shian jumped down from the unfolded deck of the submarine. "How is life on land?"

Shen Xu smiled and said, “It’s not bad, but the damage in City B is quite serious, so it’s still quite difficult.”

Song Shian looked at the person in front of him. So many years have passed, and time has left some traces on Shen Xu's face, but he is still in good spirits.

The fine lines and dull complexion could not conceal the vitality in him.

"That's good. I will activate all the usable factories as soon as possible, but you need to tell me everything you know quickly in exchange." Song Shian squinted and looked at the city in the distance.

"I only know the basics." Shen Xu told her everything as they walked.

Behind him, the democrats of City C were carrying their luggage. The city of City C was not damaged. Song Shian planned an area as a base and did not build a separate one.

After listening to what Shen Xu said, she remembered one person the whole time: "Jiang Lin? She is really a special person. I hope I can meet her sooner."

"I will inform you of the follow-up news of the factory as soon as possible. I have another request. I want to meet her." Song Shian looked at Shen Xu.

Shen Xu was stunned for a moment: "Then you may have to go to City B. She doesn't seem very interested in cooperation."

Song Shian: "Of course, I will go to see her in person and show my full sincerity."

At night, there was a rare rainstorm, which dispelled much of the summer heat.

The bracelet issued a warning that the weather would drop rapidly in the next week. Jiang Lin looked at the curve of the weather fluctuations, which was becoming more and more strange.

Logically, it should be a smooth transition to autumn, but looking at the weather forecast on the bracelet, they will go straight into winter in almost a week.

As winter approaches, it becomes difficult to obtain various foods, and travel will also be slightly hindered.

Moreover, Jiang Lin had a bad feeling that this cold wave would probably last for a long time, so they had to prepare in advance.

On the planet under the night sky, a city lights up again.

City C is brightly lit. The Homo sapiens who originally occupied the city were directly recovered and dismantled by Song Shian. After all, Homo sapiens are treasures all over, and the materials used for their bodies are all rare and good materials.

The factory resumed operations overnight.

Standing on the stable ground, Song Shian looked at the rain outside the window, feeling a rare sense of peace. Sure enough, she had to stay on land. She felt the solid ground beneath her feet.

Tomorrow she will take the first batch of finished products to City B, and hopes Jiang Lin will not let her down.

The next day, Jiang Lin woke up from the cold. The temperature had dropped by ten degrees, and the thin blanket on the bed was no longer enough to keep up the temperature.

The constant temperature device was not turned on to save resources. Jiang Lin rubbed his cold hands and put on a coat over his usual clothes.

There were only a few pieces of clothing in the wardrobe besides the combat uniforms. It was obvious that if the temperature continued to drop, everyone would have to wear temperature-regulating clothing.

I don’t know if the inventory at Base A is sufficient.

Shen Xu felt the temperature outside. Finally, there was good news today. Early in the morning, he received the news that Song Shian's factory had returned to normal.

Song Shian will arrive in City B in an hour.

"It's so cold today." Song Si was almost frozen to death after patrolling in the morning.

"Thermal-regulating clothes need to be distributed quickly, otherwise we'll all be tortured to death by this awful weather sooner or later."

Shen Xu looked at her helplessly: "The inventory may not be enough to cover the loss of so many people."

"That's it. We'll probably freeze to death before winter ends."

"Speaking of which, shouldn't it be autumn now? Why is it so cold?"

Shen Xu poured Song Si a cup of hot tea: "I don't know. It's the end of the world now, so even if it's extremely cold, it doesn't seem strange."

"You jinx, talk less." Song Si glared at him. If it was really extremely cold, she might as well have stayed in the underwater base.

"The good news is that we may have a stable source of clothes and weapons in the future." Shen Xu's brows relaxed.

"There is also bad news for you. Song Shian will be here soon."

Song Si opened her eyes wide in surprise. That terrifying woman, she slipped and slid out of the office, deciding not to go out today.
