Mental Game

Mental Game

She had not forgotten the conversation she had just had with Ashin. Instead, she was a little curious about who would be better if they really met in the sea of spiritual consciousness.

Jiang Lin and Tang Xiaoyan were just about to step out of the hospital gate when a shrill alarm suddenly sounded.

Tang Xiaoyan instantly had a bad premonition. Jiang Lin looked at her, and they both ran towards the isolation ward where Ashin was.

"Ah, ah!" Many nurses ran out from that direction: "Doctor Tang, the patient in the isolation ward has gone crazy."

"Who? Which one are you talking about?" Tang Xiaoyan asked anxiously.

"There's no name tag. It's the one who has been living in there." The nurse said and ran outside.

"It's Ashin, Ashin is in trouble." Tang Xiaoyan was running very fast in front, and Jiang Lin hurried to catch up. He was still a little bit unconvinced in his heart, after all, he had just finished talking with him.

When Jiang Lin arrived, the isolation room was a mess, with broken glass and various equipment scattered all over the floor. Ah Xin stood in the middle, his head lowered, his expression unclear.

"Zhong Xin, look at me and remember who you are." Tang Xiaoyan stood up with the help of the cabinet. She must have bumped into something and her movements were a little slow.

Hearing her words, Ashin slowly raised his head, his familiar green eyes, and Jiang Lin took a breath: "Go away, he is not Ashin."

Tang Xiaoyan's combat effectiveness is very low, and staying here will only cause more injuries.

After hearing Jiang Lin's words, she looked up at Jiang Lin in confusion, and finally left in the opposite direction. Ashin's green eyes stared straight at Jiang Lin.

Jiang Lin watched without showing any weakness. They were the only two people at the scene. She carefully walked around the sharp fragments on the ground and approached him.

"You are the sacred tree." Jiang Lin said it almost with certainty.

Ashin forced a smile: "Jiang Lin, it's me." His green eyes were like a whirlpool, and Jiang Lin was unconsciously attracted to them.

Her eyes gradually became blurred, and the next second she collapsed to the ground as if exhausted.

When Jiang Lin opened her eyes again, she felt that she was in the water. When she opened her eyes, she found a huge tree in front of her.

The water around her was a shallow layer. She rose from the water and asked, "Is this your spiritual sea of consciousness?"

"That's right, welcome to my spiritual world." Shenmu's voice sounded. She was inexplicably calm now. Maybe she didn't believe that Jiang Lin, a human, could defeat her in terms of spiritual power.

Jiang Lin walked towards the trees in the center without fear: "What I do in here, will it have any impact on Zhong Xin?" she asked uncertainly.

Shenmu smiled: "No, aren't you worried about yourself?"

Before he finished speaking, Jiang Lin had already started to prepare to use his supernatural power, but after trying for a long time, the water surface below was still calm.

"Don't try. There is no one with superpowers here. The only thing that can compete with me is your mental strength." Shenmu's words made Jiang Lin fall into deep thought.

She slowly calmed down. There was no end in sight here. Only the huge trees on the water in the middle made her feel familiar.

She continued walking towards the tree, touching the dry bark with her hand. The rough graininess was visible in her palm, and the next second Jiang Lin seemed to see many nodes.

But before she could see clearly, a sudden force pushed her away.

When Jiang Lin opened her eyes again, she was back in the hospital's isolation room, which was full of debris. There were still scratches on her body from the debris where she had just fallen.

He's back! Jiang Lin looked at his hands. Are they the spiritual nodes of every mutant he just saw? Otherwise, why would Shenmu bounce him out?

Thinking of this, Jiang Lin had a bold idea. She walked in front of Ashin, who had his eyes tightly closed.

"Open, open!" Just as Jiang Lin was about to pull his eyelids apart, Zhong Xin opened his eyes again, a familiar green color.

Jiang Lin stared intently, and a familiar feeling of dizziness came over her. The next second, she regained consciousness and appeared in the sea of consciousness of the sacred tree. She ran towards the tree.

But no matter how she ran, the tree was always some distance away from her: "Are you afraid?" Jiang Lin stopped running blindly and stopped to question the sacred tree.

Shenmu didn't reply. Jiang Lin had just invaded her spiritual node, which scared her. "You want to see the spiritual node again, aren't you afraid of becoming a fool?"

The spiritual pressure of the sacred tree descended, and Jiang Lin felt a buzzing pain in her brain. The surrounding scenery began to double, and in the double image, she saw the location of the tree.

She was no longer able to stand up, but she still climbed towards the tree. She wanted to prove something, and the gentle water below became as sharp as a knife.

Every time the knife tip scratched her skin, Jiang Lin felt the pain of the knife tip sliding across her skin.

She gritted her teeth and made no sound. By the time she climbed under the tree, she was completely exhausted.

"Give up, Jiang Lin. Otherwise, when you lose consciousness due to the pain, the next time you open your eyes, can you guarantee that you will still be the same Jiang Lin, and not the dull young man in the next ward?"

"Is his name Tang Junming? I just looked at him for a moment and his spirit collapsed."

Shenmu's voice kept telling Jiang Lin to give up: "Give up, if you give up the pain will go away."

Jiang Lin closed her eyes and didn't move. Shenmu looked at her quietly for a while, so long that she thought Jiang Lin had given up struggling.

A pair of bony hands touched the rough tree trunk, and an unfamiliar mental force rushed into the core of the sacred tree's sea of consciousness.

Jiang Lin's eyes widened. She saw thousands of nodes, some large and some small, all emitting a uniform green halo.

She kept searching among these nodes until she stopped at a dim green light and stretched out her hand towards it.

"What do you want to do!" Shenmu's voice was unusually flustered. Jiang Lin became even calmer in this situation. She grabbed the dim light spot.

"No!" Shenmu's voice appeared in her ears, but the next second Jiang Lin completely lost consciousness.

The last scene she saw was the frightened eyes of Ashin when he was just infected. She bet right, the light spot belonged to Ashin. The moment it was pulled out, the perspectives of the sacred trees and Ashin's memories came flooding back at her. She fainted due to excessive mental energy consumption.

On the other side, Ashin felt as if something had been plucked out of his brain. His mind became more relaxed and free than ever before, and the vague feeling of being monitored disappeared.

Shenmu's consciousness was completely bounced out, and she couldn't believe that Jiang Lin had erased Ah Xin's spiritual anchor from her sea of consciousness.

After the shock, she couldn't help but begin to admire this tiny human. It turned out that only a human like Jiang Lin was qualified to be her opponent.

After Ashin regained consciousness, he looked at Jiang Lin who was lying beside him. Her face was completely pale, her lips were pale, and her forehead was covered in cold sweat.

Ah Xin picked her up from the ground and was about to walk outside when he saw Wen Yan rushing in.

Wen Yan looked at him expressionlessly and snatched Jiang Lin from his arms: "Quick, quick, save him!"

When the special forces and Tang Xiaoyan arrived, they saw Ah Xin who was conscious and Jiang Lin who was unconscious.

The cold electronic handcuffs were put on Ashin's wrists. Tang Xiaoyan wanted to stop it but remained silent because she saw Ashin's soothing eyes.

She didn't know if it was her illusion, but for the first time, she felt a sense of relief from Ashin, as if all the burdens were gone from her.

"You must make her wake up, Xiaoyan, she saved me." Ashin's gentle voice sounded, and Tang Xiaoyan looked at him in shock.

The familiar lover was back. She didn't know what Jiang Lin had done to make Ah Xin seem to be out of the control of the sacred tree. She took a last look at Zhong Xin and devoted herself to rescuing Jiang Lin.

"The patient's brain is severely damaged and there's a risk of him becoming a vegetative state," said the nurse next to him.

"Impossible, she won't become a vegetable." Tang Xiaoyan felt panic for the first time. She looked at the numbers on the screen, which clearly showed Jiang Lin's current condition.

She took the needle from the nurse. This was a special medicine for brain damage. She tried to calm her hands. The long needle pierced Jiang Lin's skin, and the drugs that quickly repaired and activated her brain entered her body, but Jiang Lin still had her eyes closed.

"Three minutes have passed and there is no obvious improvement." The nurse looked at the stopwatch on her hand.

Tang Xiaoyan couldn't believe it: "One more shot."

The nurse's expression was hesitant: "Two injections is the maximum dose."

Tang Xiaoyan walked past her and took another needle, piercing Jiang Lin's skin. "Please wake up," Tang Xiaoyan prayed silently.

Jiang Lin, who was in a coma, was actually looking at the memory of that spiritual node. It contained all of Ah Xin's memories before Shenmu was born.

She was surprised to find that Shenmu was not a mutant plant created in the laboratory, but seemed to be forcibly summoned by these experimenters.

From the very beginning, these experimenters began to become her first spiritual anchors.

She watched as the experimenters took out the sealed seed and watched the sacred tree grow little by little in the water. She gave these experimenters the yellow fungus that accompanied her and also took away their control over their spirits.

The last scene is Ashin’s last memory before he was controlled.

From Ashin's perspective, she saw a pair of green eyes in the water.

"Ah!" Jiang Lin screamed and jumped up from the bed. The ventilator and various tubes on his body were torn apart, leaving blood marks on his skin.

Moonlight streamed into the ward, and she saw Wen Yan sleeping unconscious on a chair. How long had she been unconscious?

Jiang Lin pulled out the tubes, large and small, from his body, got off the bed, and slowly walked towards Wen Yan. He looked haggard, as if he hadn't slept for several nights.

His chin was covered with blue stubble, his face looked a little dull, and he looked very tired.

Jiang Lin couldn't help but hug him. Wen Yan slowly opened his eyes in her arms. Jiang Lin felt the wetness on his clothes.

"Are you crying?" She looked at Wen Yan's bloodshot eyes.

"I thought you would never wake up again." Wen Yan's voice was very hoarse. After Tang Xiaoyan gave her two injections of brain activator, Jiang Lin still showed no signs of waking up, and even her numerical values did not improve.

Tang Xiaoyan wanted to get a third shot, but was forcibly taken out by the nurse.

"What about Ashin? He is no longer in danger. He will never be controlled by the sacred tree again." Jiang Lin was a little anxious. Under the circumstances at that time, she was afraid that Zhong Xin would be directly wiped out by the base.

Wen Yan's eyes dimmed slightly as he looked into her eyes: "Why are you still thinking about him at this time? Can you look at me, Jiang Lin?"
