Temperature rise

Temperature rise

Song Shian stood up and walked to the window. The scene outside made her sure that she was now in Base A. Was it Jiang Lin who saved her?

"Ding Dong Ding Dong" the communicator kept vibrating.

It was the construction worker at the small base in City B who was frantically sending her messages.

"Leader, are you okay? I've asked Base Captain Jiang to rescue you."

"Woo, woo, woo, leader, are you okay?"

Song Shian frowned and replied. If anything happened to her, this group of people would panic and lose their minds.

It was really useless. Song Shian sat on the bed and reported his safety one by one to comfort the people of City C.

It seemed that the two construction workers had come to Jiang Lin while she was unconscious, so she owed Jiang Lin another favor. Song Shian shook his head, thinking that he was going to owe her more and more.

Because he was not sure about the weather conditions, Song Shian did not dare to leave Base A rashly and simply stayed here.

For several days, she didn't see a single person. She hadn't had such free time for a long time.

The young nurse brought her some books, and when Song Shi was free, she would read by the windowsill.

"It's strange. The snow has clearly stopped, so why are there snowflakes all over the sky over there?" The young nurse happened to see this strange sight when she wanted to close the window.

Song Shian raised his head: "It seems that she already knows how to use it."

The sunlight outside the window was reflected by the white snow, making it a little uncomfortable for his eyes. Song Shian wanted to close the curtains, but his hand stopped on the drapery.

In the distance, falling snow swirled around one place.

Jiang Lin was at the center of the rotation. The whip Song Shian gave her was light and easy to use. A slight swing of it could create a small storm.

Satisfied, she took back the whip and put it on her waist.

Wen Yan sat on a rock next to him and watched quietly. Even though the swirling snowstorm was right in front of him, he smiled gently, as if he knew that the storm would not hurt him at all.

The snowflakes slowly fell back to the ground, and Jiang Lin walked out from a white mist.

"Professor Cui said that the first lamb was born. Do you want to go and see it?" Wen Yan raised her hand and patted the remaining snowflakes on her body.

"So fast?" Jiang Lin was a little bit unbelieving.

"Well, one of the sheep sent was already pregnant, and happened to give birth these few days ago."

Jiang Lin walked towards the farm. A clean path had been cleared on the road, with thick piles of snow beside it.

Before reaching the farm, Jiang Lin heard the sounds of various animals and a faint unpleasant smell in the air.

"Should we consider installing an air purifier here?" Jiang Lin covered his nose a little uncomfortably.

“It’s already been installed, but it still has a bit of a smell.”

Inside, Cui Yawen, wearing gloves, supported the still unsteady lamb, which was still covered in slime and blood.

He was not afraid of Jiang Lin coming in and just stood there trembling.

It was the first time she saw a newborn animal. Looking at those wet eyes, Jiang Lin felt the birth of a new life for the first time.

It was a strange feeling, a bit like when one of her plants first sprouted, but a little different.

The mother sheep licked the lamb clean, and soon the lamb was able to drink milk and walk freely.

"I was stunned." Cui Yawen had taken off her gloves and cleaned up her body.

Jiang Lin nodded and then shook his head: "This is the first time I've seen it. I hope it can survive." In this extreme world, such fragile life seems like it may disappear at any time.

"Don't worry, this lamb is very healthy." Cui Yawen's eyes were filled with unconcealable joy.

Since the end of the world, I have felt a strong sense of inexplicable joy when seeing the birth of new life.

On her way back, she passed by the hospital at the base. She thought that Song Shian had been staying in the hospital since she rescued her, and she had not visited her yet.

Jiang Lin turned and walked towards the hospital.

"You're here. I thought Base Director Jiang had forgotten about me." Song Shian leaned back in the soft chair. He didn't look back but accurately identified who was coming.

Jiang Lin sat down opposite her. She was not very good at talking to strangers.

"Why, are you wondering how I guessed it?" Song Shian accurately caught the flash of surprise in her eyes.

"I've been in the apocalypse for so long, managing so many people, and I don't have any powerful superpowers. Guess how I got to where I am today." Song Shian smiled easily.

"I rely on my intuition and my ability to judge people accurately." She was in a good mood today. Even though Jiang Lin didn't say anything, she continued to talk to herself.

"I heard a lamb was born today."

"I'm embarrassed to ask you for anything now. I owe you too much."

"I will definitely give it to you as I promised you before, don't worry."

"Don't you feel that you have suffered a loss?" Song Shian looked at her, as if trying to see through Jiang Lin's inner thoughts, but his eyes were pure without a trace of impurities.

She looked away for a long time.

"I kind of understand why that person is you. I think maybe you can really lead us out of the apocalypse." Song Shian always wondered why Jiang Lin was favored by so many people.

Possessing powerful supernatural powers and the absolute submission of so many people, it seemed as if everything was insignificant in her presence, and there was a strange sense of security in her presence.

But during these few days at Base A, Song Shian saw a different Jiang Lin.

She had come all this way, clearly with nothing, so why was she willing to pay so much? If it were her, she would definitely not want to do a business that would put her at a disadvantage.

"The weather is very good today. The weather forecast says it will be sunny in the next few days. You can go back. Medical resources are limited, so don't waste them." Jiang Lin said coldly.

If someone else said this to Song Shian, she would definitely be angry, but when the person in front of her said it, she felt a little guilty for wasting resources.

"As long as you need my help in the future, I will definitely help. After all, my life is still very valuable." Song Shian stood up proudly.

She patted the wrinkles on her clothes. The person who came to pick her up was probably at the door now.

She had contacted them this morning. After all, it wasn't a good idea to continue living like this. She didn't expect Jiang Lin to come and tell her about the weather for the next few days.

She really still cares about herself. Song Shian smiled brightly.

Jiang Lin twitched the corners of her mouth. She didn't know what the person in front of her was laughing at. She didn't seem to have said anything nice.

However, Song Shian had always seemed a little abnormal, so she didn't take it to heart and walked out of the ward on her own.

The popularity of City B is now at an all-time high, and the city's lifeless atmosphere has dissipated a lot.

Jiang Lin took a deep breath of air. Even through the cold-proof mask, there was still a slight chill.

At this moment, City A was indeed more quiet than ever before.

The firewood in the air was crackling, Qu Mo and Li Qi hugged each other for warmth. There were a bunch of plants in the cave, all of them wilted.

"I'm freezing to death, freezing to death. Why is it so cold?" Li Qi complained. She no longer had any extra thoughts to think about. Her whole body was telling her how cold it was.

Xiaoya had already hidden in her clothes to keep warm and was now feeling drowsy.

But it still remembered why it was here. It poked its head out from Li Qi's clothes and said, "Follow me."

The intermittent sounds were completely deaf to Li Qi, who was shivering from the cold.

"Hiss, it hurts." Li Qi felt a sharp pain on his face which was numb from the cold. It turned out that the small bud had grown sharp thorns at some point and scratched his face.

Li Qi's blood was absorbed by Xiaoya. It originally just wanted to attract Li Qi's attention, but unexpectedly absorbed her blood by mistake.

Xiaoya felt that she had regained some strength: "Follow me."

If it were a normal Li Qi, she would have slapped it away long ago, but now she really had no strength, and her mind seemed to be shrouded in fog.

Li Qi followed Xiaoya forward as if possessed. The further they went inside, the temperature gradually rose.

She felt her limbs slowly thawing, greedily absorbing the heat from the air.

The same goes for the group of plants that followed around.

They were more sensitive than Li Qi and could accurately feel the moisture in the air and the gradually rising temperature.

Sunflower raised his drooping head again and found himself in a dark place he had never seen before.

The timid animal immediately hid behind Li Qi.

Li Qi's consciousness was slowly returning. She followed Xiaoya's instructions and walked straight inside, bypassing the intricate cave intersections.

Finally they came to a magical place.

The groundwater gushing out here was surprisingly warm, like an underground hot spring. Li Qi was so shocked that he soaked himself in it.

All the chill was driven away by the warm spring water.

The little sprout found a place with soft soil to take root and continued to grow.

Li Qi slowly fell asleep in the warm spring water.

When she woke up again, she felt more relaxed than ever before. All her fatigue was gone, leaving only endless energy.

But when she looked around for the buds, she found a small tree in the center that she had never seen before.

"What on earth are you?" Li Qi looked at the small tree. The familiar smell made her sure that the small tree was the small bud that had stayed by her side before.

The leaves of the small tree glowed with a faint golden light, and it did not look like a sacred tree.

The sacred tree is covered with dark green vines, and looks very gloomy.

The small tree is covered with soft golden light, making people want to get closer.

It didn’t answer Li Qi’s question: “Protect me and let me grow.”

Qu Mo stared blankly at the tree in front of him, not knowing what the difference was between it and the sacred tree. Why did he feel like he had fallen from a wolf pit into a tiger's den?

Qu Mo washed his face with spring water, and the golden tree was still in front of him.

He looked at Li Qi next to him, and Li Qi also had a dazed look on his face.

Never mind, it’s just another new tree.

Jiang Lin caught a small snowflake and asked, "Do you feel that the weather is getting warmer?"

Even though he wore cold-proof clothing every day, Jiang Lin could still feel slight temperature fluctuations.

Wen Yan frowned, not sure whether the rising temperature was a good thing or a bad thing: "It seems there is a change."
