Chapter 25 The Revolutionary Committee Arrives

It was not until noon that Sun Yuqi came down from the mountain. Her basket was full of wild vegetables, but under the vegetables was a pheasant.

When Lin Muren saw Sun Yuqi coming back, he walked over to her and looked at her wild vegetables with a smile. The two of them went into the house chatting and laughing, while Chen Hao sat outside without moving.

"Everything is arranged. We're just waiting for her to report it. Humph, then we'll let her suffer the consequences."

"Well, but I don't think she'll report me to the brigade. She'll most likely report me to the commune. Then there's the possibility that those people last night were members of the Revolutionary Committee. So I'm afraid they'll come with some bad stuff again and say it's mine. Then I'm afraid I won't be able to explain myself clearly."

Lin Muren also thought of this possibility, frowned, and suddenly she whispered.

"We still have to find Chen Hao for this matter. The chief of the police station here is an old subordinate of Grandpa Chen and a distant relative of the Chen family. Should we ask them to bring people here when the time comes to prevent those people from the Revolutionary Committee from framing us? I've heard of many such cases."

Sun Yuqi looked at Lin Muran in surprise. She really didn't expect that they had such a relationship when they came here to work in the countryside.

Lin Muren felt embarrassed when Sun Yuqi looked at her. "We chose this place because that uncle is here. If anything happens, there will be someone to take care of us."

Sun Yuqi nodded immediately.

"That's fine, but I don't know when Qian Yumei will report me. We can't keep an eye on her all the time! That would be too tiring and we wouldn't be able to get any work done."

Lin Muren thought for a moment and said, "There's nothing we can do about this. Since there's nothing else to do during this period of time, let's just keep an eye on her."

After thinking about it, there was no good solution, so she could only leave it like this for the time being. However, Qian Yumei was afraid that the night would be too long and she would have more troubles, so she found an excuse to go to the commune the next day. When Lin Muren saw this, he asked Chen Hao to follow her.

Chen Hao had a pretty good relationship, and he came back around noon, along with two police comrades from the police station.

Chen Hao brought back the public security comrades, which immediately alarmed the team leader Zheng Chengwei. Zheng Chengwei thought something big had happened and hurried from the team headquarters to the educated youth site.

When I entered the Youth House, I saw Chen Hao talking to two police officers, one of whom was the director of the police station.

Chen Hao saw the captain arrive and introduced him.

"Captain, this is one of my uncles, surnamed Chen, the director of our commune police station. The other one is Comrade Gao."

Director Chen smiled and shook hands with the captain.

"Hello, Captain. I'm here just to see my nephew today. It's not official business."

Zheng Chengwei finally breathed a sigh of relief after hearing what Director Chen said. He thought something had happened in his team again.

The captain had just breathed a sigh of relief when he heard a commotion outside the door. He turned around and saw several people with red armbands walking in.

Director Chen and Chen Hao exchanged a glance. "Hey, Director Liao? Why are you here? Are there any counter-revolutionaries here?"

Director Liao was also surprised to see Director Chen here and asked curiously.

"Director Chen, are you here to...?"

"Haha, Director Liao, isn't this my nephew who is here to support national construction? I came to see him."

As he said that, he pulled Chen Hao over.

"Come on, Xiaohao, this is your Uncle Liao, call him Uncle Liao quickly."

Chen Hao stepped forward and said.

"Uncle Liao."

Director Liao had a bad feeling in his heart that today's plan might fail, but he did not show it on his face.

"Haha, you're so energetic, young man! That's great! We still need young people to build our country!"

Director Chen said with a smile.

"Yes, yes, we are all serving the people! Director Liao, what are you doing today...?"

At this point, Director Liao had no choice but to go ahead with it.

"Someone reported that a young intellectual here was hiding banned books and letters. We came to take a look. The country doesn't allow such lawbreakers to exist."

Director Chen agreed very much after hearing this.

"Oh, then we have to investigate thoroughly. As the chief of the police station, I have the obligation to work with you. Director Liao, rest assured, we will definitely assist you."

When Director Liao heard what Director Chen said, he had no choice but to let them follow.

"Good, they are all good comrades of the country."

He turned and looked at the captain again.

"Who here is Sun Yuqi? Someone reported you for possessing banned books. We are here to search for them."

The captain didn't know what to say, so he pointed at Sun Yuqi and said.

"I wonder who reported Sun Zhiqing?"

A young clerk behind Director Liao pushed Qian Yumei out.

“She was the one who reported it.”

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the Youth League Courtyard was shocked. There was actually a poisonous snake living in their yard. Everyone looked at each other and didn't dare to say anything.

Now the Revolutionary Committee is a department that no one dares to mess with. Didn’t you see that the police station chief was also very cautious when speaking to Director Liao?

Sun Yuqi walked forward and said.

"I am Sun Yuqi. You can go in and investigate. I also hope you can go in and investigate. This will help clear my name."

Director Liao glanced at Sun Yuqi and waved to the people behind him.

The two people behind him entered Sun Yuqi's room, and Director Chen and Public Security Officer Gao followed them in.

Sun Yuqi glanced at Qian Yumei and ignored her. He was not in a hurry for the moment and would deal with her later.

After a few minutes, several people came out one after another and shook their heads at Director Liao. Director Liao knew that with Director Chen and his men following him, they couldn't even frame someone else, so this trip was in vain.

Just as he was about to take his people away, he was stopped by Sun Yuqi.

"Director Liao, hello. I don't know how Comrade Qian Yumei determined that I was in possession of banned books."

Director Liao was in a dilemma at this time, so he said.

"This woman said you were reading Chinese medicine books, which are rubbish. We can't be superstitious."

Sun Yuqi looked at Qian Yumei strangely.

"Comrade Qian Yumei, why do you say that? I remember you had two books on traditional Chinese medicine. I saw you reading them a few days ago. I didn't know that traditional Chinese medicine books were banned, so why did you say I had them? Now Director Liao and several others are here, but they still can't find them. Aren't you playing a joke on the leader?"

"But since she wants to report me, then I will report her for having banned books hidden in her suitcase."

Sun Yuqi was talking to Director Liao, who had a bad feeling at the moment. This young woman was fighting back, but he couldn't just ignore it.

He sighed in his heart and said to the two people behind him.

"Go check in Qian Zhiqing's house."

Director Chen immediately said, "Comrade Gao, you should also go and assist the two comrades."

Qian Yumei actually knew that something bad was going to happen before she found any banned books in Sun Yuqi's house, but at this time she didn't know what to do.
