Chapter 235 Taking My Son to Shenzhen

It was January of 1986, and Sun Yuqi was on vacation again. After returning home from get off work, Sun Yuqi put her bag in the room and went out to the kitchen. Qin Xiuzhi was already busy cooking in the kitchen, while Grandma Mu and Grandpa Mu were looking after the two children in the main room. Not to mention Mu Qingzhuo, even Mu Qingzhou was over one year old. Two children who could run and jump made the old couple a little tired, so the cooking task usually fell on Qin Xiuzhi and Sun Yuqi.

"Sister-in-law, if there's anything you haven't done, just tell me and I'll do it."

Qin Xiuzhi was cooking and said without even raising her head.

"I bought a pig's head at noon today. I braised it before going to work this afternoon. I just fished it out when I got home. It's mushy. Grandpa and grandma will definitely be able to eat it. Cut up the meat first and mix it with some cold sauce."

After listening to this, Sun Yuqi picked up the knife and started cutting. In the past few years, Sun Yuqi had learned a lot from Grandpa Chen and had put a lot of effort into knife skills.

The two sisters-in-law started chatting while cooking.

"Sister-in-law, it's vacation time now. Are you going to the south to visit Grandpa Chen?"

Sun Yuqi said as she cut the meat, "That's right. I was planning to do that, but I still have to discuss it with Jing Ran to see when to leave. There's also the question of whether or not to bring this brat along. If I do, it'll probably be very tiring, but if I don't, I'm afraid he'll make trouble at home. Also, I want to take him out to broaden his horizons. He'll be going to nursery next year, and it won't be easy for him to go out after that."

Qin Xiuzhi smiled and said, "So you're so confused! But you're right. The children need to go out and see the world. My children are still young, so I can't go out."

The two sisters-in-law cooperated very well and prepared dinner in just half an hour. At a call, the whole family sat together to eat. However, there were only four adults and two children at home. Mu Chenlan and Mu Jingran were not at home, one in the army and the other working overtime at the unit.

Three days later, Sun Yuqi took the little Mu Qingzhuo on the train to Shenzhen in the south. This time, Mu Jingran still could not accompany them to the south. Sun Yuqi understood. After all, the nature of his work here made him helpless. For example, Qin Xiuzhi and Mu Chenlan had been separated for a long time since they got married. Mu Jingran was much better off than Mu Chenlan. Fortunately, he would come back home from time to time to prove his existence. Several times, when Mu Chenlan came home, his son Mu Qingzhou refused to let him hug him.

Mu Jingran had someone arrange the train ticket. It was a sleeper car, and a lower berth at that. However, there were very few people in the sleeper car. Sun Yuqi felt that this was a good idea as it wouldn't be too noisy. It takes three days and two nights to travel from Beijing to Shenzhen in the south, which means that she and her son Mu Qingzhuo need to spend three days and two nights on the train.

Grandma Mu and Qin Xiuzhi prepared a lot of food for the mother and daughter on the road, and also prepared a lot of snacks such as small biscuits for Mu Qingzhuo to eat on the road. They waited until everything was arranged before Mu Jingran got off the train. Fortunately, this train was the first to depart and stayed at the station long enough, but when Mu Jingran got off the train, it was about to leave.

After waving goodbye to Mu Jingran who was standing on the platform, the train slowly drove out of Beijing Railway Station. Sun Yuqi pressed the still extremely excited little Mu Qingzhuo onto the bunk.

"Behave yourself, kid, or I'll ask your father to take you back."

This sentence was very useful. After hearing it, Mu Qingzhuo sat down obediently on the bunk and stopped moving. Instead, he took the small biscuit handed to him by his mother and started eating with his little mouth.

Seeing that her son was obedient, Sun Yuqi packed up his luggage and put some of it under the bed.

In fact, people will feel bored if they take a train for a long time, so she usually prepares a few books before getting on the train, one to kill time, and the other to use it to hypnotize herself.

It was 10:30 in the morning when she boarded the train. The train had already been running for more than half an hour. Sun Yuqi looked at the watch on her wrist and saw that it was already past 11:00, almost 11:30. She thought that since it was almost noon, she should eat something!

She took out a few buns from the bag under the bed. The boiled water she brought was still warm because it was not long ago. She ate two buns with the boiled water, and then served Mu Qingzhuo a bun. Then the mother and son lay down on the bed.

An hour later, the train arrived at a station. At this station, a lot of people got on at once, filling up the remaining empty berths in the carriage. Sun Yuqi did not get out of bed, but sat there watching those people busy. Mu Qingzhuo also opened his eyes wide, looking at this and that, with a look of curiosity on his face.

Time passed quickly and it was night. As it got dark, the scenery outside could no longer be seen clearly. Mu Qingzhuo, who had been excited all day, was tired and slowly fell asleep in Sun Yuqi's arms. Sun Yuqi frowned and looked at her son. He hadn't eaten yet and was sleeping now. He would probably wake up hungry in the middle of the night.

"Forget it, let's talk about it when you wake up."

Sun Yuqi ate something and began to sleep holding Mu Qingzhuo. The night was very peaceful. Mu Qingzhuo was very good. He only woke up for a short while and then fell asleep again. However, he woke up a little early the next morning, at around five o'clock, and did not go back to sleep. In fact, Sun Yuqi did not dare to sleep all night for fear that something might happen to the child.

So it was on the afternoon of the third day when the train stopped at Shenzhen Railway Station. Sun Yuqi got off the train carrying her packages and luggage, holding Mu Qingzhuo in one hand. Lin Muren and Ye Mei came to pick them up on the train. Seeing Sun Yuqi holding Mu Qingzhuo in her arms, Ye Mei trotted forward and took Mu Qingzhuo directly from Sun Yuqi's arms.

Mu Qingzhuo still remembered Ye Mei. He did not reject Ye Mei's hug. Instead, he put his arms around Ye Mei's neck and kissed her on the face, which made Ye Mei very happy and she smiled happily.

Lin Muren curled her lips and looked at Mu Qingzhuo who was kissing Ye Mei.

"You little bastard, I'm your godmother, and I've never seen you kiss me."

Sun Yuqi laughed and said, "Alright, you're already in your teens and you're still jealous! You know, Ye Mei took care of him from the time he was one month old until he was two years old. He must be familiar with Ye Mei!"

Lin Muran waved his hand and said, "I just said it, and you gave me a lecture. Let's go quickly, the car is waiting outside!"

After saying that, he carried Sun Yuqi's luggage and walked out of the station.
