Chapter 113: The Shurimans in Fulgrim's Tavern

After studying the files, Li Lin put on his power armor again.

Caitlin also prepared her "Iron Blood" laser sniper rifle, changed into a tight suit that was convenient for movement, and put on a breathing filter device.

Afterwards, the two took the elevator down to the middle plaza.

Caitlin said that their main task was not to confront the "murderer" head-on, but to determine his specific location.

Therefore, Li Lin suggested looking for Vandel, as he had people familiar with Dicheng who could provide assistance, which could save a lot of trouble.

After a while, the two men arrived at Fulgrim's Tavern.

It's still early and the pub has just opened for business.

Wei, Boom, Craig, and Milo had obviously gone somewhere to play and were not in the store.

As soon as they entered the room, Fandel's familiar yet surprised voice reached their ears: "Hey, good afternoon, Li Lin, and Miss Jilaman."

As he spoke, he noticed the girl behind Li Lin carrying a strange-looking sniper rifle, and his heavy eyebrows raised.

"Are you guys preparing to...?"

Li Lin and Caitlin sat on the chairs in front of the bar and explained with a smile: "Investigating a serial murder case."

Vandel wiped his hands with the towel on his shoulder, then poured two cups of cold tea for the two of them.

"Are you talking about the alchemical accident that happened in the gutter today?"

"Huh? I didn't expect that you stay in the alley every day, but you are still well-informed." Li Lin said in a teasing tone.

Fandel knew that Li Lin was joking and was not angry.

"You're right. Such a big incident has even alerted the law enforcement officers. Everyone has already spread the news...but everyone thinks it's just a common alchemical accident."

He paused, his face darkening before continuing, "There's a Sevika guy among the security personnel at the oil tank factory. He said this wasn't an ordinary accident, but a deliberate murder, and many people died."

"Yes, the investigation team determined that the murderer was a dwarf who used a crossbow and alchemical poison."

Catelyn reveals part of the case to Vandal.

After hearing this, Vandel's expression turned even uglier. "Damn it! Zaun has been so stable thanks to your efforts, yet you have to stir up trouble at this critical juncture."

"It's okay. The murderer is just one... uh, 'man.'" Li Lin waved his hand and said nonchalantly, "With Caitlin and I, we will definitely bring him to justice."

Seeing that Li Lin hadn't gotten to the point after talking for a long time, Caitlin added on his behalf: "We just need you to provide us with someone who is familiar with the terrain of the trench."

"Oh, that's what you're looking for me about. Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Fandel chuckled and turned his gaze back to Li Lin. "Since you've assigned Huck the job of looking after the tidal power station, I'll find someone else... What do you think of Code?"

Code is the bald strong man who has had many interactions with Li Lin before, and is also one of Vandel's most trusted subordinates.

Li Lin nodded, "Code, of course... where is he now?"

Fandel looked up at the clock on the wall at one side of the tavern. "He'll be here in about half an hour. Why don't you sit down for a while and have some cold tea?"

"What do you think?" Li Lin glanced at Caitlin beside him, asking for her opinion.

She also turned her head to look at the wall clock, "Well, I can wait for half an hour."

Then, Caitlin took off the breathing filter, frowned slightly and adjusted to the air, then picked up the herbal tea in front of her and took a sip.

"Oh, there's one more thing I almost forgot."

Vander, who had just turned around to continue cleaning the bar, suddenly thought of something and turned back to look at Li Lin, who had opened his mask and just taken a sip of tea.

"Lately, a middle-aged Shuriman man has been coming to my tavern. He's been drinking heavily every day and has been asking me if there's any high-quality armor in Zaun. He's also been asking me about you...

"But I never revealed your information to him. He got it from other people because you were hanging around the base city in power armor every day."

Shurima?

Looking for someone to make armor?

Li Lin's heart skipped a beat. Could it be...

Before he could think too much, he heard the wind chimes at the door of the tavern collide, making a crisp sound.

Then, a hoarse, dull voice with a heavy accent called out, "Boss, same old thing."

Li Lin, Caitlin and Fandel all focused their attention on the door at the same time.

What they saw was a middle-aged man wearing a shabby Zaun-style coat, with traditional Shurima clothing underneath.

He had messy short black hair and slightly dark skin. His eyes were bloodshot and showed a hint of sadness from time to time. He looked like he hadn't had a good night's sleep for a long time and looked a little listless.

"This is the person I was talking about." Vander whispered a reminder to Li Lin, then turned around to prepare drinks for the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man didn't seem to notice Li Lin, who was wearing power armor at the bar, or his slightly distracted attention completely ignored these "unimportant" things.

He walked to the corner of the tavern near the door and sat down, then lowered his head in a daze, and from time to time he let out a long sigh.

"Judging from his appearance, he must have lost a loved one." Caitlin quickly came to a conclusion based on her observations. "Also, he wants to make a set of armor, which proves that his family was most likely murdered."

Or maybe not a human...

After hearing what she said, Li Lin suddenly felt that his guess was almost right.
