As she spoke, Xiweier's smile froze, as if she was recalling some unpleasant past events, and she quickly changed the subject:
"But you just seemed to have disappeared in the past few years. Where did you go? Why did you give up such a good job?"
Oops, you're just rubbing salt into Kassadin's wounds...
Li Lin glanced at the silent Kassadin beside him and was about to speak to forcefully skip over the topic, but he heard him muffledly say, "Have you heard of the 'Prophet' Malzahar?"
Seeing that Kassadin was not angry or sad about this, Li Linmo sighed and let him talk to Sivir.
Sivir, who grew up in the society, naturally heard the hint of resentment in Kassadin's tone and raised her eyebrows slightly.
It sounds like he has quite a grudge against this 'prophet'?
"Malzahar, I think I heard this name from someone... or more precisely, from a caravan."
Xiweier frowned and lowered his head in thought for a moment.
"I heard that he seems to be a weirdo who suddenly appeared in recent years, calling himself a 'prophet', and has gained many followers, saying that he wants to lead people to enlightenment?"
"That's just some false rumors..."
Kassadin paused and uttered a word that only existed in legend: "Void. Malzahar is the spokesperson for the Void."
For a moment, Xiweier felt the blood in her veins boiling, but her whole body felt strangely cold.
Sivir knew about the Void, from the bedtime stories her mother used to scare her with, before her parents were killed by the desert bandits, the Sarns.
Until now, Sivir, who had never actually seen the Void, did not think there was anything scary about this "fictional" legend.
She firmly believed that instead of being afraid of such imaginary stories, it would be better to worry about the dangers lurking in the desert.
But now, after hearing what Kassadin said, Sivir suddenly had an illusion:
It was as if I were in a void where even time and space did not exist, fighting countless terrifying, corrupted, and twisted monsters...
"Sivir...Sivir!"
Li Lin's call brought the dazed Sivir back to reality.
She was still a little frightened and quietly wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. "Where's Kassadin? How long was I in a daze just now?"
"About two or three minutes. Cassiopeia is here. Kassadin just went outside the city to check on Skarash's condition."
Li Lin pointed at Cassiopeia who was talking with Sivir's deputy in the distance.
"Are you okay? You don't look well..."
Especially after Kassadin mentioned the Void.
Li Lin frowned secretly, not quite sure what was going on with Xiweier who suddenly became dazed just now.
"No, it's okay. I just feel empty... well, this kind of thing is just a legend. It shouldn't exist."
"The God Warriors are also legends, so do they not exist?"
Li Lin and Sivir stood side by side, looking at Cassiopeia who was walking towards them with a polite smile on her face in the distance.
"Do you believe in fate? Xiweier?" Li Lin asked softly.
"destiny?"
When he asked this, Xiweier's brows were tightly furrowed.
"Bloodline... and destiny, belong to you."
