Chapter 164 Nice to meet you, Kasa

Kassadin and Kaisa were affectionate with each other for a long time, until their tears were almost dry and they could not cry anymore, then they finally separated, sat on one side of the tunnel, leaned against the earth wall and told each other about their experiences over the years.

One day three years ago, Kassa and his friends discovered the goats that the mysterious strangers had bought from the nomads in a fence.

She had heard her mother mention that these goats were to be "sacrificed," or offered as tribute, so she and her friends used the dagger Kassadin had given her when she was eight years old to cut the ropes and set them free.

It was this unintentional action that led to unimaginable things...

The earth trembled, and a scorching flash illuminated the sky. A huge purple mouth that seemed to reach the abyss of the earth tore through the bedrock and swallowed the entire village, along with everyone in it.

Afterwards, Kassa, who found herself trapped underground, could still hear the cries of other survivors.

But as time passed, she found that she was the only one who survived.

Just when Kassa was in despair, she discovered a beam of purple light, which continued to draw her underground.

Along the way, she picked up scattered food on the road to fill her stomach. Occasionally, she would find scattered water bags, or even rotten fruits, her favorite peaches...

The final gift from the ruins of the collapsed village helped her get through the most difficult beginning.

But in the end, Kassa, who followed the light straight down to the deepest part, was once again filled with fear.

It was a huge cave, illuminated by evil purple "lights" and filled with large, rustling, strange-looking "creatures".

That was the first time she faced the void.

The noise that Kassa accidentally caused startled a bug that was about the same size as her at the time.

It opened its huge mouth covered with needle-like spikes and pounced on her, trying to swallow her.

Kaisa fought back hard with the dagger given by Kassadin. Although the blade was broken, fortunately it pierced the monster's softer core.

Both sides rolled down the steep slope deeper into the ground. When Kassa regained consciousness, she found that the monster's strange skin was attached to her body...

In the following three years, Kassadin struggled to survive underground. The Void skin grew with her and quickly covered most of her body, becoming her second skin.

In the following battles, she suddenly discovered that her second skin could actually devour those monsters to evolve, which gave her a clear plan in mind:

Fight with all your might, survive, and find your way home...

These beliefs have supported her until now.

"It's all my fault, I'm sorry... I hurt everyone..." Kassa was still sobbing.

Ever since this horrific incident happened, she has been feeling guilty, thinking that the deaths of her parents, village elders, and friends were all caused by her.

Although Kassadin later discovered that the characteristic of the void is devouring, as long as there are living things to eat and energy supply, they will sooner or later swallow their own village into their stomachs.

But the guilt in her heart did not diminish at all...

Kassadin shook his head. "No, Kai'Sa, this isn't your fault."

Having read many ancient books and studied the battles between gods and the void, he also understood the characteristics of the void.

"Their nature is to devour everything. Even if you didn't do that, they would still have awakened in those cultists. Those damned fellows have already used the people of our village as sacrifices..."

He first comforted Kassa, then gritted his teeth.

Kasa sniffed twice and suddenly thought of another question: Since Dad is still alive, then... Mom?

"By the way, Dad, did you find any other survivors in the village back then?"

Kassadin was silent for a moment. Knowing his daughter's thoughts very well, he guessed what Kassa really wanted to ask.

"I'm sorry... I haven't been able to find any surviving people or livestock, not even a corpse."

"Is that so..."

Kassa lowered her eyes, and a hint of loneliness and disappointment flashed in her deep purple eyes.

However, she had already changed her mindset.

She was extremely surprised and satisfied to learn today that her father was still alive.

Kassa shook her head and collected her chaotic thoughts.

Then, she looked at Li Lin, who was standing in the distance, half-crouching on the ground studying the corpse of the ethereal spirit. "Dad, he is..."

"Oh, I forgot to introduce you."

Kassadin stood up, pulled Kaisa up with him, grabbed her wrist and walked to Li Lin.

Hearing the approaching footsteps of the two, Li Lin paused his work, stood up and looked at the father and daughter.

"This is Li Lin, a renowned hextech craftsman from a Piltover councillor's family. He's my benefactor, I suppose."

A smile appeared on Kassadin's face, which was in stark contrast to his previous gloomy appearance.

"I met him at the Fulgrim's Tavern in Zaun. He heard about my situation and offered to help me... He invented the power armor we wear."

Kassadin had told Kaisa many times about Piltover's hextech, so she was quite familiar with it.

But this type of power armor was the first time she had seen it.

It turns out that this thing that looks similar to the living skin on my body is actually a product of Hextech technology.

Kasa looked at Li Lin with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Hello, Mr. Li Lin, I give you water and shade. My name is Kai... no, Kasa."

She had heard from her father that there was a handshake etiquette in Piltover, so she extended her right hand in a formal manner.

But when she saw the void shell attached to her hand, she was worried that it would scare Li Lin, and she tried to retract her hand in panic like a frightened deer.

However, before Kassa withdrew her hand, Li Lin, who had noticed her worried expression, had already reached out and shook hands with her.

"I'll also give you water and shade. Just call me Li Lin."

He paused and smiled kindly, "Nice to meet you, Kasa."
