Chapter 18 Let’s do something big!

Following the clear and pleasant sound of the wind chimes at the door, Li Lin and Jace slowly stepped into the Fulgrim Tavern.

Fulgrim's Bar is a quiet bar, which seems a bit out of place compared to the general environment of Zaun.

There is no heavy metal music here, no dance floor, and the entertainment area only has a few worn-out game consoles and two pool tables.

When the people in the room saw that Li Lin and Jace were dressed very differently from the people in Dicheng, they almost stopped what they were doing and looked at them with mixed emotions.

Facing these malicious looks, Jace felt his scalp tingling, and he didn't know whether his decision was right or wrong.

The fleeting silence lasted less than two seconds, until a familiar, mature, middle-aged man's voice rang out:

"May the haze not enter your home. Welcome to Fulgrim's Tavern. What would you like to order?"

Li Lin and Jess walked straight to the counter at the back of the room and took off their breathing filters.

"May the smog not enter your home. Have two beers."

He placed 10 copper rings on the table and pushed them to the man who was wiping the cup with his head down. It was Vander.

"Huh? It's you."

Vander took out two wooden beer mugs from the counter drawer, then filled two full mugs of beer from a large wooden barrel behind him and placed them in front of Li Lin and Jace respectively.

"I see your injury is almost healed. You are in good health, young man."

"Thanks to you."

Fandel smiled and glanced at Li Lin's left shoulder, then looked at Jace, who was drinking silently with a somewhat melancholy expression, and asked, "Is this... your friend?"

"Yes, he's currently... uh, having some personal emotional issues. We don't need to worry about him."

"Oh...I see. I understand." Vander nodded slightly, as if he had misunderstood something.

Then, Li Lin took out a standard-sized purse from his shoulder bag and pushed it to Fandel's hand.

He glanced at the purse in confusion, then raised his eyebrows and asked, "What is this?"

"Thanks to your help last time, this is a small token of my appreciation."

Vander took the purse and opened it to take a look. It was filled with round coins without holes in the middle.

Under the dim alchemical lighting of the bar, these coins all sparkled with dazzling golden light.

Jinhai, there are about twenty of them.

"This is too valuable. I can't accept it."

Vander's expression changed slightly. He calmly tied the string at the mouth of the purse and returned it to Li Lin. He said in a low voice:

"Besides, this is a dark alley. I can't allow outsiders to cause trouble here... I just did a little favor."

"You should know that this money is nothing to the Jiraman family." Li Lin shook his head and repeated what Jace had said before, "Take it. Just think of it as a gift between friends."

Vander let out a long breath and hesitated for a long time before taking back the purse and putting it in the drawer under the counter.

"I wish all my friends were as generous as you." He made a small joke.

After a brief pause, Fandel glanced around and lowered his voice, "You came to the Undercity this time for the 'Crystal', right?"

"Yes, is there any news?" Li Lin nodded.

After hearing their conversation, Jace, who was originally a little bored, became a little serious and listened carefully with his ears tilted.

"Benso has already got it. You can ask him for the details... Oh, right!"

Vander seemed to have suddenly thought of something. He lowered his head and rummaged through the drawer for a long time, pulling out a small notebook and a pen.

He tore off a piece of paper, wrote something quickly on it, signed his name at the bottom, folded it neatly and handed it to Li Lin.

Li Lin felt a little confused. "What is this?"

"Go to Benso's Grocery Store later and give him this note. He will know what to do."

A few minutes ago, in a room under the Fulgrim's Tavern.

A very thin boy was lying on a hard, worn sofa, occasionally throwing a bouncing ball into the metal wall.

Next to him, there was a fat boy with windproof goggles on his forehead and a pair of girls with pink and blue hair respectively.

The three of them were sitting cross-legged on the ground, concentrating on playing a card game unique to Zaun.

Listening to the muffled "bang bang" noise in the house, the blue-haired girl gritted her teeth, and finally couldn't bear it anymore, she jumped up from the ground and shouted:

"Could you please stop hitting your bouncing ball, Milo? I can't concentrate on thinking!"

"Huh? My playing with the bouncing ball can affect you?"

Milo glanced at the little girl whose expression was almost twisted into a ball, but he still didn't stop throwing the bouncing ball.

"Are you sure it's not that your card skills are too bad, Baobao?"

"You..." Baobao looked at the pink-haired girl beside him with an aggrieved expression, "Wei, look at him!"

"Okay, Bakugo, let's ignore him." Wei walked to Bakugo helplessly and grabbed the bouncing ball that was still in the air.

Then, she glared at Milo who was sitting on the sofa, "And you, Milo, stop talking about explosions all day long."

"But this is none of my business..." Milo sat up straight and wanted to refute something, "Speak up for me, Craig!"

He looked at the fat boy who was still sitting on the ground, but the other party just shrugged and said nothing.

"Oh, forget it...every day has become my problem." Milo put a hand on his forehead and lay back down. "This life is so boring!"
