Jace's face lit up with joy. He clasped the skinny boy's shoulders with two strong, vise-like hands and asked in broken Shurima, "You said Li Lin is back?!"
"Hey! Jace, calm down, you're hurting the kid." The old craftsman from the Gilaman family warned.
Jace noticed the boy's gloomy expression and immediately let go of his hand, but didn't apologize. "Are you sure it's really Li Lin?"
"If... you're talking about the man following the Grand Maester and wearing black armor that gleams with blue light, I think so." The young man responded while rubbing his aching shoulder.
"Grand Maester?" Jace raised his eyebrows, a look of doubt on his face. "Who is the Grand Maester?"
“Of course it’s Nasus, the great god-warrior known to every household in Shurima!”
At the mention of Nasus, the young man immediately danced with joy, even forgetting the pain in his shoulder.
The old man hummed twice and muttered in a voice just loud enough for Jace to hear, "I told you to read more historical documents before coming to Shurima..."
Jace waved his hand impatiently and turned back to signal the old man to stop talking.
"Of course I've heard of the God Warriors. I read about them quite a bit when I was researching Hextech crystals... but that's not the point right now."
Jace's gaze returned to the Shuriman boy, then he untied a heavy purse from his waist and tossed it into his hands.
The boy's eyes lit up, and he opened his purse without hesitation, pulling out a shiny gold coin. "Wow! You're so generous, sir!"
"30 gold plates, take me to find Li Lin quickly."
"Tallis, you gave him too much. I'm afraid by tomorrow..."
"That's enough Grant, I've already said this, now is not the time for this!"
The old man shook his head helplessly, sighed, and stopped talking.
This guy Jace is becoming more and more rude...
The boy carefully put the purse into his clothes, then waved to Jace and ran towards the south gate of Nashram.
Jace followed the young man closely, leaving the craftsmen standing there staring at each other.
"Should we... follow them?" asked the young craftsman next to Lanor.
"Of course we have to go!" Grant, who was standing opposite Lanor, spoke first before Lanor could respond. "Didn't you hear what that little guy said? A god-like warrior! Don't you really want to go and see it?"
The craftsmen from other families all showed a hint of interest on their faces.
Most of them had heard of the Shurima Empire and its god-warriors during their heyday thousands of years ago, and naturally wanted to see what they looked like.
Grant blew his gray beard and asked his young assistant to help him catch up with Jace and the others.
Lanor gritted his teeth and turned back to signal the craftsmen of the Midalda family: "Let's go, we will follow."
…
…
The southern gate of Nashrameh.
Li Lin and his companions were recognized before they even entered the city.
Nasus is incredibly recognizable.
The news spread from one to ten among the residents of Nashrameh, and soon hundreds of people gathered near the South Gate, just to catch a glimpse of the immortal figure of the god-warrior.
"Uh, are we being too conspicuous?" Xiweier looked at the people on both sides of the street and whispered to Li Lin.
Although she had encountered such a situation where she was admired by everyone in the City of the Sun not long ago, at that time she had put herself in the role of a descendant of the Shurima royal family.
Besides, Sivir was not familiar with the City of the Sun at that time, and those people knew that she was a royal princess.
But in Nashramé, everyone only knew that she was a mercenary, and this scene of welcoming her along the streets made her quite uncomfortable.
Kassadin glanced at Sivir and seemed to guess what she was thinking. "Don't think too much. They are not welcoming you."
Sivir: “…”
Kassadin, who was following behind Li Lin and Kassadin, covered her mouth and smiled softly.
Fortunately, the people of Shurima were very respectful to Nasus and did not lose their minds and rush after him like some star-chasers on Earth.
They simply knelt on one knee at a suitable distance, crossed their arms over their chests, and paid Nasus the highest Shuriman courtesy.
But most non-Shurimans don't understand such etiquette, especially someone who doesn't pay attention to such trivial matters.
Valley Roar
"Li Lin!" A familiar loud voice came from the end of the street.
Then, with a burst of hurried footsteps, Jace pushed away the Shurimans blocking his way and ran all the way to Li Lin, ignoring their angry glares.
He stretched out his fist and hit Li Lin's chest armor with an unhappy look: "You guy! Where the hell have you been?!"
"Uh, this rude handsome guy is..." Xiweier's eyes turned to Li Lin, "your friend?"
Li Lin didn't answer her question. He unfolded his mask and stared at the young man in front of him, "Jace? Why are you here?"
"You asked me, and I wanted to ask you something! Why did you leave the task I entrusted you to do and go out into the desert? Do you know how dangerous that is?!
"Not only do you have this power armor, but you also have... uh?" Jace was stunned when he saw the dozen or so Storm Robots floating behind Li Lin. "Damn, you did all this? Are you going to war?"
"That's about right... How would I dare run into the desert without some protection?"
"Even if I had this thing, if I ran into some powerful monsters like the Ascended Mage..."
“Ahem!”
Before Jace could finish his last words, Li Lin quickly cleared his throat and signaled to Nasus who was standing next to him.
