In the uppermost cabin of the Hextech Pressure Transport, Jace, who had been silent the entire way, finally couldn't help but ask, "Are you really going to hire that kid as a trainee?"
Li Lin met his gaze and raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like I'm joking?"
"But... why?"
"You'll know it later. You won't understand even if I tell you now."
"What a joke! Is there anything I don't understand?!" Jace's eyes widened. "I've noticed you always leave things unsaid."
"Instead of dwelling on this, you might as well save your energy and focus for researching hex crystals tonight."
Li Lin forcibly changed the subject.
"Uh... okay, speaking of this, you said this afternoon that you could stabilize Hextech crystals. What's the principle behind this?"
That is of course... the principle of the "system panel".
Li Lin turned his head away and thought for a moment based on the knowledge in his mind, then gave a rough explanation:
"Hex crystals are very unstable. Initially, I thought of using resonance devices to reduce their vibrations, but I found that this didn't work.
"Then an idea struck me. Since reducing the resonant frequency doesn't work, why not..."
"Increase the energy!" Jace's eyes suddenly lit up. "Try to stabilize the crystal in a high-frequency environment!"
Wow, you have learned to answer quickly.
Li Lin nodded, confirming his statement, "I tried it with crystal fragments, it totally works."
"Damn it! Why didn't I think of that..."
Finally figuring out what went wrong, Jace clenched his right fist and hammered the palm of his left hand.
"You are such a genius, Li Lin!"
If even with a golden finger I can't become a genius, then what's the point of me being a time traveler...
Li Lin smiled helplessly and looked out the window.
The lift will generally stay for about 10 minutes in large areas and only two or three minutes in small areas.
It was almost time now, and he could hear the sound of the iron hatch on the bottom floor closing.
Not long after, the administrator's rough, hoarse voice rang out from the sona: "The elevator is going up! Next stop: Border Market, Thaumaturgy School, Plant Cultivation Center."
With a sharp buzzing noise, three thick longitudinal rails supported its fat body and it slowly rose, and the exhaust holes on the top spewed out circles of steam.
About 20 minutes later, Screech emerged from the dark tunnel, slowly slowed down, and finally stopped at the Airdrop Street in Piltover.
Li Lin and Jess followed the few other passengers out of the cabin.
Soon after, more migrant workers who were waiting outside the diamond-shaped iron fence to take the elevator home came in.
The two walked along the winding cobblestone path.
Before he had taken a few steps, Li Lin suddenly stopped and turned to look behind him.
But all that came into view was a group of noisy and clamorous citizens.
"What's wrong?"
Jace noticed Li Lin's abnormality and turned his head to look in the direction he was looking.
Everything seems normal.
"Nothing, I must have seen it wrong." Li Lin shook his head. "It's getting late, let's go back quickly."
Meanwhile, behind a wall at the corner of the street.
"See, I told you not to bring Baobao here. They almost found us." Skinny Milo complained to Wei.
"I was so far away from him and hiding in the crowd. Why do you think he almost found me?" Baobao retorted unwillingly.
"Because of your striking blue hair! You'd be easy to spot even in a crowd..."
"But he doesn't know me! What would happen even if he saw me?"
The argument between Baobao and Milo became more and more intense.
"Alright, alright, all of you, stop talking. And Milo, this really isn't Baobao's fault."
Wei pointed at two figures in the distance that were about to disappear in the crowd, "We still have a mission to complete, so don't lose them."
"Forget it, business is more important. I won't argue with you anymore."
"Hmph!" Baobao snorted, turned her little face away and ignored Milo.
After resolving the minor friction between her team members, Wei continued to lead the three of them to avoid the law enforcers, hiding from XZ and secretly following Li Lin and Jayce.
Finally, they arrived at the Grand Canyon of Piltover.
From here, the whole city seemed to have a crack, and a large canyon covered by haze with an invisible bottom divided the entire city into two parts, north and south.
The four of them took the opportunity to run to the edge of the bridge, looked down, and couldn't help but gasp.
The tall tower of the Academy of Technology and Magic built in Zaun poked its head out from the thick haze. The thick ropes at the top were fixed to the upper part of the canyon, swaying in the howling sea breeze.
This is a unique scene that is completely unseen in Zaun.
Since the law enforcement officers on the bridge had noticed them, they did not dare to stay on the bridge for too long and quickly went to the north.
In an alley where almost no one passed by, Wei, Baobao and Milo quickly climbed onto the roof along the drainage pipes and metal frames.
Craig was on the ground, providing support and pointing the way for them on the roof.
Wei squatted on the edge of the eaves, looking down at the crowded street below. "Mello, do you see where Craig is?"
"Let me take a look..."
"There!" Baobao's excited shout attracted the attention of the two, "At the end of this street."
"Very good, Explosive. Let's go over there."
Before Wei finished speaking, she leaped forward and landed easily on the roof opposite.
Boom and Milo followed closely behind her.
