Chapter 216 The Nightmare Comes

There is not much magic in the Twin City District. There are no large nature spirits like the Lizard Elder and the Ancient Blue Golem. All you can see are some small elves without physical bodies that can only act on instinct.

The surroundings were temporarily safe. Li Lin retracted the drone and stood still, waiting quietly.

More than ten minutes passed in a flash.

Suddenly, an inexplicable palpitation swept over Li Lin's heart, causing him to shiver unconsciously and goose bumps appeared on his body.

Now in the spirit realm, with magic everywhere, he could no longer rely on the taste in his mouth to determine whether Nocturne was approaching.

Li Lin quickly turned on his "data-driven thinking" and asked the armor's intelligent system to analyze the index of surrounding magic energy.

After five or six seconds, he squinted and looked at the direction marked as east on the holographic display.

A shadow that no light could penetrate broke the harmony of the natural realm, swallowed up all the floating magic particles along the way, and approached this side at a speed that was difficult to capture with the naked eye.

As if noticing the existence of Li Lin, who did not belong to this dimension, the shadow paused slightly in mid-air and finally stopped several dozen meters away from him.

"You are... human?" A low, cold voice, tinged with a hint of doubt, came from the shadows. "Interesting."

This sound seemed to come from the underworld and was impossible for humans to simulate. It was not loud, but every word was like a sharp knife, piercing Li Lin's eardrums and causing pain.

With the sound of wet air flow, the shape of the shadow changed greatly.

Almost instantly, it condensed into a magical entity that looked somewhat like a human.

Its shape is elusive, and it wears armor conjured from shadow magic, with the lower half of its torso gradually fading into a line like the tip of a blade.

A pair of terrifyingly shaped giant blades were embedded in both arms. The dark crimson color had been deeply engraved into the silver-white blades and was soaked with blood.

There was only a pair of cold eyes on its face, burning with a blue light and filled with extremely strong hatred.

A bone-chilling chill ran up Li Lin's spine. "Eternal Nightmare... Morteng."
