Chapter 23 My name is not Jinx, my name is Boom

Wei talked a lot to Li Lin, and then reminded Baobao of some things that needed to be paid attention to and careful, before she climbed over the balcony wall with Craig and Milo and left.

Now, the only person left in the room was Li Linhe, who breathed a sigh of relief. He was carried by Wei to sit on a chair, looking at each other nervously.

There was silence in the air.

To ease the somewhat dull atmosphere, Li Lin was the first to speak and break the silence: "Your name is... Jinx, right?"

"Jinx?" Bakugo's eyes flickered blankly. "My name isn't Jinx. My name is Bakugo."

"Well……"

Li Lin choked on her words, suddenly remembering that the fat boy just now called her the same thing.

It turns out that Jinx's name before she went crazy was Boom.

"I'm sorry, I confused you with a little girl from my memory."

Li Lin found a random excuse to change the subject and looked down at his watch.

"It's half past six now, and the Gilaman family starts dinner at seven sharp. I estimate we'll have to wait a few dozen minutes. It's safest to wait until everyone is eating."

"I, I'm fine." Baobao shrank back in his chair, his voice sounding unnatural.

Li Lin glanced at her swollen ankle and sighed slightly. "Your foot is seriously injured, but it's probably not broken... I'll ask the servant for a bottle of medicinal wine and ice. Is there anything else you need?"

Baobao shook his little face and said, "No, no..."

This was her first time being alone with a strange adult without Wei, so she couldn't help feeling a little nervous.

However, just as she finished her words, an incongruous "gurgling" sound came from her stomach.

“Hmm…”

Baobao couldn't help but blush and buried her little face in her arms in shame.

Li Lin asked with a smile on his face, "Would you like to eat something?"

"No, that's really not necessary..." Baobao said hesitantly.

"Tonight's dinner will be a bacon and egg sandwich on Shuriman sun bread, and maybe some boneless fish grilled Bilgewater-style and sweet cakes.

"The Jiraman family is incredibly wealthy, and they even hired the best local chefs to ensure they can perfectly reproduce the unique characteristics of each place..."

After listening to Li Lin's description, Baobao's throat moved subconsciously and he swallowed.

"By the way, we also have yak milk that's been specially fermented and shipped from Freljord. Would you like to try it?"

"want!"

Li Lin chuckled, "Okay, wait for me for a moment, I'll be back soon."

After watching this young and even somewhat handsome big brother walk out of the room, Baobao finally relaxed a lot.

"Is this the life of rich people..." Her eyes were a little dazed and she muttered to herself.

However, this state did not last long, and she soon had a new idea.

"One day, I'm going to become rich, and let Wei, Vandel, Craig, and Milo live this kind of life with me..."

"What kind of life?"

A sudden voice startled Baobao.

She quickly looked towards the balcony where the sound came from, and to her surprise, a familiar face appeared again. "Wei? You scared me to death. Didn't you leave?"

"I asked Craig and Milo to leave first. They will wait for us nearby."

Wei walked up to Boom and ruffled her hair lovingly. "Silly girl, how could I possibly leave you to a stranger and walk away?"

Baobao could hear the distrust of Li Lin in his sister's words and couldn't help asking, "But didn't this big brother say he was a friend of Vander's?"

"You really believe anything he says?" Vi leaned down and rubbed her hands across Boom's face. "Have you forgotten what Vandel always said about not trusting others so easily? You always have to be on guard."

"Hate it! Stop rubbing my face~~" Baobao muttered incoherently, "But he also said he would bring me food. I don't think he can be a bad person..."

Hearing her sister say such things, Wei couldn't help but sigh, "Oh my god, Baobao, this guy actually bribed you with just a meal?"

“No, no way…” The little face of Baobao was flushed.

"Never mind, he seems quite sincere at the moment." Wei stood up straight again. "I'm right outside. If anything happens, remember to yell and I'll come in to help you right away."

"Okay, I understand."

Although he said this, Baobao didn't take Wei's advice seriously.

This older brother is definitely not a bad person, at least not as bad as my sister thinks.

While thinking in his heart, Baobao waved to Wei who left the room and climbed back to the roof from the balcony.

A few minutes later, the door of the room locked lightly, and Li Lin walked in with a tray in his hand.

On the tray were two round metal cups, a piece of steaming golden bread that was at least the size of a palm, a bacon and fried egg, a roasted fish that was burnt red and oozing with oil, and two pieces of cream cake decorated with a cherry.

For a moment, the rich aroma of bread and roasted fish filled the entire room.

“Smells so good!”

His explosive blue eyes widened slightly, his appetite suddenly increased, and his saliva was almost dripping from the corners of his mouth.

She had never smelled anything so good.

Li Lin placed the plate on the workbench and cut the fragrant and soft sun-baked bread into two slices with a fruit knife. He then placed bacon, fried eggs and boneless grilled fish on one of the slices and covered it with another slice of bread.

This is how a common sandwich in Piltover is made.
