Chapter 27 Waltz with Caitlin

Early the next morning, Li Lin, who was exhausted and had not yet woken up from his dream, was awakened by a series of rapid knocks on the door.

He got up from the bed in a daze and put on his coat, then opened the door with hazy eyes and saw Caitlin standing outside.

Seeing the sleepy Li Lin, she said coquettishly, "Didn't we agree to have etiquette class today? Why are you getting up just now?"

"Well……"

After hearing what Caitlin said, Li Lin scratched his head, became more conscious, and looked back at the wall clock.

It was just a few minutes after seven o'clock...

"Okay, stop wasting time and go wash up and change. I'll be waiting for you in my room."

After saying that, Caitlin left Li Lin standing there with a confused look on his face and turned to leave.

He was stunned for a moment, then sighed, "Oh, it's only seven o'clock. I've never gotten up so early since I started college..."

However, Caitlin has always been decisive and doesn't like to waste time, so it's better for her to act quickly.

Li Lin took a quick shower and changed into a new set of clothes.

Then he went to the second floor of the main house of the Gilaman family and knocked on the door of Caitlin's room.

"The door is unlocked, come in."

Li Lin turned the handle and pushed open the door, and was greeted by the elegant and sweet fragrance of violets.

Caitlin's room is spacious and bright, but the interior decoration is very simple.

The polished marble floor, which could almost be used as a mirror, was covered with a pale yellow patterned carpet. A large bed with blue-green curtains was placed in the center of the wall facing the door. On the small tables on both sides of the room were several vases filled with violets that she had grown herself.

The bright morning sun shines into the house through the sliding glass door leading to the balcony, dispelling the coldness and darkness that had accumulated in the room overnight.

Coupled with the exquisite white marble ceiling with gold trim and the warm green bean paste walls, the overall feeling is simple and warm.

This was the first time Li Lin entered Caitlin's boudoir.

At this moment, Caitlin was sitting on the balcony, sipping coffee slowly and enjoying the unique tranquility of the early morning.

"Why are you still standing there? Come in," she called.

Li Lin walked into the room, closed the door, went to the balcony, and sat on the chair next to Caitlin.

She was wearing casual clothes today, a white lace shirt with a maroon knee-length skirt. Her snow-white, slender legs without a trace of fat were crossed and raised, and her small feet in white lace socks were covered with brown leather sneakers.

"You probably haven't had time for breakfast yet? I asked someone to prepare it for you."

Caitlin gestured to the bacon and egg sandwich and steaming milk on a plate on the round glass table.

"Thanks."

Li Lin was not polite either. He was also feeling hungry, so he grabbed the plate, knife and fork, cut some food and stuffed it into his mouth.

A few minutes later, he quickly finished his breakfast and started his first lesson of the day: getting to know the families of Piltover.

"There are many families, big and small, in Piltover, but you don't need to know most of them. You just need to remember a few of the main ones."

Caitlin extended her scallion-like index finger and said, "When we went to the parliament, you had already met five parliamentary families: the Midalda family, the Salo family, the Hoskal family, the Bolpok family, and the Voslaton family.

"Among them, the Myrdal family is the oldest family in Piltover, and its heritage can be traced back to the founding of Piltover.

"And their patriarch, Jagu Midarda, is even more powerful. Using his father's piston patent, he controls the opening and closing of the Sun Gate and possesses wealth comparable to that of a nation.

"The dark-skinned young woman you saw sitting in the center that day was called Mel. She was exiled from the Midalda family and was not recognized by them.

"But even so, she was able to become a member of the Piltover Council of Seven. You can imagine how influential the Midalda family is."

Caitlin paused and continued:

“The bald, short and fat councillor and the yellow-haired, effeminate councillor you saw at the parliamentary meeting were from the Salo and Hoskal families respectively. The two families have conflicts of interest in various areas, so they are hostile to each other and their relationship is not good.

"The one who's been completely transformed into a machine is the councillor representing the Bolpok family. The bald, dark-skinned, middle-aged female councillor with a hextech amplification device around her neck represents the Voslaton family.

"Their two families are mainly involved in the military field. The salaries and equipment of the law enforcement officers of Piltover are mostly sponsored by these two families."

Caitlin took a sip of her coffee as she spoke. "You should be familiar with the Philos family, so I won't go into details. Next up are some wealthy families that don't have much political power, such as the Kewald family and the Amara family..."

In the next hour or so, Caitlin introduced Li Lin to more than ten important families, and then provided detailed basic information about these families and their more important members.

Then, for another two or three hours, she told him bit by bit about the social etiquette of Piltover's upper class society.

Even though Li Lin thought he had a pretty good memory, Caitlin still made him feel dizzy. It was as if he was back in high school, working hard from dawn to dusk...

Coffee brewed over and over again, until Li Lin felt a little overwhelmed, and Caitlin finally stopped her "Tang Monk chanting sutras" mumbling:

"How is it? Have you remembered everything?"

Li Lin, who was confused, nodded subconsciously.
