After working almost all night, Li Lin, wearing a white coat, finally walked out of the room at dawn the next day.
After convening the meeting, Jarvan IV had been guarding outside the door since late at night.
As soon as he heard the sound of the door, he immediately stood up with Shyvana and Paldek, walked to Li Lin who closed the door casually, and was followed by two Fearless Vanguard guards.
Since Alberk had been taking care of all the chores in the town of Lunwall during this period, King Jarvan IV asked him to have a good rest last night and come back before attending the prisoner exchange meeting.
"What's the situation?" Jarvan IV asked anxiously.
"Don't worry, it's been resolved."
Under the astonished gazes of several people, Li Lin controlled his white coat and changed into ordinary clothes.
He noticed the looks from Paldek and the other two Fearless Vanguard soldiers and explained with a smile, "This is Piltover's nanotechnology. What I'm researching isn't magic."
Afterwards, Li Lin continued to look at Jarvan IV and briefly described the situation of the six soldiers in the room: "I have removed their necrotic eyeballs and completed the surgery on them.
"Based on their current body's recovery rate, if they get enough rest and nutrition, it will probably take several months for their eyes to grow back.
"As for the specific recovery speed, it depends on their individual physical condition, and may be faster or slower."
In fact, Li Lin can make their eyeballs grow in a shorter time.
However, since these soldiers have not received any "gene enhancement drugs" or "activity enhancers", there is a small probability that their gene sequences will collapse if they do so.
No matter how small the probability is, even if it is less than 1%, in his opinion it is something that is very likely to happen.
Li Lin would rather delay the healing process a little longer than betray Jarvan IV's trust and let these soldiers die from such a low-probability event.
"Isn't this... really magic?"
It was the first time that Paldek heard of a technique that could cut off an eyeball and have the human body grow a new one, and it wasn't magical.
Or perhaps even magic can't achieve this level?
"According to Li Lin, this technique should be called 'giving aliens'... Uh, forgive my pronunciation, we don't have this word in Demacia."
"Genes, Your Highness," Li Lin corrected, "I call it 'genetic engineering'."
"Yes, gene, that's the word." Jarvan IV turned around and said to Paldek.
And Paldek nodded, not quite understanding, with a confused look on his face.
Li Lin didn't intend to waste time explaining to him. Anyway, this kind of knowledge seemed too professional and novel in Piltover, and he wouldn't understand it even if he explained it to him.
It was around eight o'clock now. He had an appointment with Jarvan IV last night to attend the Noxian prisoner exchange meeting at two o'clock in the afternoon, so he had to get ready quickly.
"Your Highness..."
As soon as Li Lin said this, Jarvan IV understood what he meant and waved his hand, saying, "Everything has been arranged. I sent an envoy on horseback to negotiate with the Noxian side last night, and they agreed."
He paused and glanced at both sides of the castle corridor.
In fact, it is impossible for a "spy" to sneak into this castle, which is strictly controlled by the Fearless Vanguard Company and patrolled 24 hours a day by the air combat machine Storm.
But out of caution, Jarvan IV first made sure that there were no outsiders here.
Because they were about to set off and had no time to go to the war meeting room.
"We've already drawn up a battle plan last night, but it's specifically for the Fearless Vanguard Company and doesn't take you into account," he whispered. "What are you going to do?"
Li Lin paused for a few seconds. "Do you know the Black Rose Society of Noxus?"
Jarvan IV's expression suddenly grew serious. "Is this related to the Black Rose?"
I can't say it's related, I can only say that this action against you was completely planned by Black Rose.
Li Lin nodded. "The vampire who controls blood magic is very similar to one of the founders of the Black Rose."
"Vladimir... I've seen his name in books," Jarvan IV said gravely, "but he has disappeared into the long history of Noxus."
"Many people believe he's dead," Li Lin said calmly, "but those who are proficient in using blood magic can easily extend their lifespan."
"How did you know that?"
"A wise man, a god-warrior who travels the Golden Pass and is also a Grand Secretary of the Shurima Empire, told me this."
"Varied--"
Not only Jarvan IV, but also Shyvana, Paldek and the two Fearless Vanguard soldiers were shocked.
"You..." Jarvan IV could hardly speak.
After a few seconds, he calmed down from the shock and asked with some stammering, "Could it be that you have seen an ascender... do they really exist?"
"Of course, Your Highness. Have you not heard of the Shurima Empire's revival?"
Jarvan IV: "..."
"Your Highness, you have been busy at the border these past few months, dealing with banditry. It's normal for information to be blocked."
Palrek was clearly aware of these things. "Azir, the last emperor of Shurima, was resurrected as a god. He returned to the Sun City, which had been in decline for thousands of years, and once again erected the Sun Disk in the center of the desert."
“Damn it…” Jarvan IV clenched his fists. “Then we’ll face more threats than just Noxus.”
"You need not worry about Shurima, Your Highness."
