At this point, Xiweier finally understood what they were "planning".
Since she was influenced by Li Lin's suggestion of "reading more books", she returned to the City of the Sun and occasionally went to the big library to read the books that interested her.
The issues of the Ascenders and the Bakays who failed to ascend are what interest her most.
She also knew some of the information about the Darkin related to the God-Warriors. This was information that Nasus had people collect and reorganize from folk books over the past year.
"You actually released the Darkin..." Sivir muttered absentmindedly as she watched Aatrox's spirit flying out of the bloody greatsword.
However, Li Lin, Azir and Nasus did not pay much attention to Sivir beside them. Their attention was all on Aatrox, and they were ready to take action at any time.
The Darkin Ascended body sealed in the weapon had long since been destroyed, and now only a human-like spirit remained.
Due to the erosion of the Void, Aatrox's soul is covered in traces of purple-red corruption.
The bulging purple veins extended in a spider web-like pattern along his chest, which had been injured by the void monster, especially on his neck and cheeks, where the distortion of the void was even more obvious.
Nasus narrowed his eyes, realizing that this was the root cause of the Ascendant's uncontrollable rage and fury, which had prevented him from obtaining any results despite his painstaking research.
Their souls have been tainted by the void.
Even now, the corruption of the Void continues to spread and cannot be reversed. It is only a matter of time before it completely corrupts their souls.
As for Aatrox, although he didn't know why he was suddenly unsealed from the outside world, he sensed a very familiar breath, familiar enough to make him give up all thoughts, pick up the giant sword and charge towards death.
"Deceitful!"
His gaze turned, a faint purple light flashed, and his eyes were wide open with endless murderous intent.
Even in spirit form, Aatrox can still draw upon some of his remaining power of ascension.
Just as he was about to grab the weapon that had accompanied him in battles for many years and was like a part of his body, to his surprise, the weapon was extremely heavy and he couldn't lift it at all.
It was a familiar power again. Not long ago, he had fought with the owner of this power that was not considered magic.
Aatrox suddenly turned his head and looked at the source of the power that inexplicably exerted "gravity" on his greatsword.
However, within his field of vision, the most conspicuous person was not Li Lin, but Grand Secretary Nasus, and the figure beside him who was "wearing" eagle armor and holding a spear and scepter.
Even though he was affected by the void and the seal, Aatrox lost most of his memories, and even his former glory was a blur.
But Nasus and this unique set of armor were deeply engraved in his mind from beginning to end.
"Azir..."
Aatrox's burning aura suddenly subsided.
"Aatrox, the God-Emperor is here, why don't you come and pay your respects to your emperor!" Azir waved his spear and scepter at him and spoke seriously in a tone with imperial majesty.
For a moment, Aatrox could feel the sands of the entire desert turning against him.
If I don't respond, the yellow sand under my feet will instantly penetrate my spirit into a sieve and disappear into thin air.
"No, it's impossible!" Aatrox couldn't believe what he saw. "This must be a deceptive magic cast by the Twilight Aspects, or perhaps the Void... Azir fell in the Ascension Ceremony that year!"
He murmured nervously, his left hand clenching the hilt of the greatsword even tighter, a complex expression of confusion, hesitation, fear and other mixed emotions flashed across his illusory face.
"Since you think what you see is fake, why don't you look up?"
Hearing Nasus' voice, Aatrox subconsciously looked up and covered half of his face with his hand.
The sun disk suspended in the air looked extremely sacred under the sunlight above the sky.
Aatrox had long known that the sun disc had been re-erected in the heart of the Shurima desert. After all, its light illuminated every god-warrior, even those corrupted by the Void and sealed by the magic of the Protoss.
But he didn't expect that it was Azir, who had revived as a god, who awakened the Shurima Empire, which had been dormant for thousands of years.
For a moment, Aatrox couldn't accept the reality.
Zuo Yin flashed back to Li Lin and handed Charikar, which should have been in its normal state but had shrunk again, back to the stunned Shiver.
"Humph, it was me who lifted your seal, yet you still hate me so much."
Zuo Yin placed her thumb on her temple with her palm open, and stuck out her tongue at Aatrox, making the face she often made to tease Thor.
"Ignorant wolf, if I had known you were like this, I wouldn't have saved you even if Li Lin begged me!"
She shrank back into Li Lin's arms, saying things that didn't mean what she said.
"……you!"
Hearing Zuo Yin teasing him like this, Aatrox's anger flared up again, but with a hint of bewilderment.
The Twilight Star Spirit in front of him was obviously not Mai Yinsha, and she did not have the cunning and sinister attitude of her predecessor. Instead, she had the innocence and naivety of a child.
Mai Yinsha sealed herself, but the new Twilight Star Spirit, a little girl in front of her, saved her. How ironic.
Aatrox was extremely depressed.
"I know you harbor hatred towards the Twilight Star Spirit, but Zuo Yin is not Mai Yinsha. Even though she has merged with the Twilight Star Spirit herself, she has always acted according to her own will. You don't need to target her like this."
Aatrox turned to look at Li Lin who was speaking, and realized that he was the user of the power that made him unable to lift the weapon. He also understood that it was he who had just controlled the two behemoths and knocked him back into the weapons.
