Transported by two Tyrant Warriors, Li Lin rode in one with Caitlyn, Kaisa, and Zuo Yin, while Swain and Darius rode in another with an adjutant.
The rest of the Trifari soldiers followed the law enforcers and boarded two special transport hover trucks, flying for a distance before arriving at the administrative building.
After getting off the car, Kassadin and Zuo Yin were not interested in political affairs, but because Swain possessed demonic power, they chose to stay in Li Lin's office.
Caitlin followed Li Lin, who led the way in front, in silence. The empty corridor was filled with the crisp sound of heels stepping on the marble floor.
The atmosphere between the four people seemed extremely oppressive.
They arrived at the meeting hall, which was originally used by the members of parliament to hold parliament and was now converted into a place to discuss political affairs. Li Lin invited them to take a seat, and Caitlin was visibly relieved.
The original circular table of members of parliament has long been replaced by a traditional long table with more seats.
Wait until the staff brought tea and snacks to Swain and Darius.
Li Lin, who was sitting opposite the two of them, exchanged a few words with them and waited until Kalina, Mel and Heimerdinger, who had received the notification, entered the hall from the corridor door on the other side.
Darius glanced at them coldly and quickly looked away.
His duty today was to act as Swain's guard, and he had no interest in what was to be discussed in this meeting.
Although it may be useless when facing those Hextech guns, and with Swain's abilities, he may not need his help, but at least it shows that he and the commander-in-chief are in the same boat.
Heimerdinger took his seat first, next to Li Lin, while Mel and Kalina sat next to Heimerdinger and Caitlyn respectively.
Mel and Kalina maintain diplomacy and economy respectively, and are considered to be relatively important officials in Piltover.
As Heimerdinger is one of the founders of Piltover, even though he has lost his position as a member of parliament, it is reasonable for him to participate in the talks with the visiting heads of state.
Not to mention Caitlin.
Without the constraints of the councilors and the support of Li Lin, as the leader of the Piltover law enforcement officers, she is equivalent to the "Grand Marshal" of other countries in Piltover, and holds some military power.
They represent the current face of Piltover.
There was silence in the air.
Li Lin and Swain locked eyes, each reflecting the person sitting across from them.
Affected by the aura of the secret "confrontation" between the two, the other people in the hall couldn't help but sweat on their foreheads and backs, and they didn't even dare to breathe.
"Commander-in-chief." Li Lin leaned forward, crossed his hands on the table, and broke the silence first.
"Just call me Swain." Swain smiled politely. His voice was like a sharp sword unsheathed, carrying the sharp edge of a superior aura. "Can I call you by your name, Li Lin?"
"Of course, the name is for calling." Li Lin smiled back, and out of the corner of his eye he noticed dozens of ravens landing on the high windowsills on both sides of the hall.
It is a magical species condensed by the magic of the demon Ramo, and is very different from ordinary ravens.
"I heard that a rebellion broke out in Rocklund Plains recently. Those soldiers actually wanted to overthrow your rule. It's ridiculous.
"In my opinion, ever since the Grand Commander took office and issued the Trifari Decree on the separation of powers, Noxus has become much more prosperous than it was before. It has only taken a little over a year for it to flourish and hopefully regain its former glory. This is inseparable from your correct decision."
"No, no, if compared to your brilliance, I am far inferior.
"It took you only two years to climb from a handyman to your current position, while it took me thirty years to reach where I am today, leveraging the power of the Swain family and accumulating military merit.
"When it comes to ability, I really feel ashamed of myself."
Swain responded politely.
Li Lin laughed, "What are you talking about? If the Pale Lady hadn't withdrawn your troops, you would have killed Irelia and conquered Ionia long ago.
"Besides, just based on your ability to subdue demons, I can't compare with you."
Upon hearing the name "Pale Lady", Darius's eyes suddenly shrank, and even Swain's eyes flashed with a trace of solemnity.
I didn't expect that this kid who had long since fled Ionia actually knew what happened in Presidium...
But after a little thought, Swain felt a little relieved.
The Battle of Navoli's Stand was no secret. Irelia Xan had long been a hero, praised by the Ionians. It was not difficult for Li Lin to know this.
But how did he know that LeBlanc had withdrawn personnel from my chapter, leading to my defeat at Presidium?
My mind was in a mess, but in reality only two or three seconds had passed.
Swain continued calmly, "You were able to build several mechas that rivaled those of the gods, and you defeated the ancient sorcerer Xerath, who once destroyed the Ascended Empire.
"I am just a mere mortal. Even if I can subdue demons, how can I compare to you who defeated the Ascended One?
"Not only that, I also heard that you announced your plan to reach the heavens some time ago, and it seems you've made some progress?"
Swain's eyes, flashing with a dim red light, swept over Caitlyn and Heimerdinger, and the corner of his mouth raised.
"Being able to enter the heavens is something that countless sorcerers and magicians throughout history have dreamed of achieving, even demons are no exception."
Except for Heimerdinger and Caitlyn, Kalina and Mel were stunned.
If Li Lin hadn't said it, the two of them wouldn't have understood, and they had never imagined that he could actually defeat the legendary Ascendant...
