At 12:15, Li Lin, Fandel, Benso and Sevika came to the plant cultivation center area on the upper level of Zaun with several strong and burly men.
The alchemy barons agreed to hold a meeting in a clock tower-like building.
It is mainly composed of steel grids, with huge dark green floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Occasionally, there are several copper mechanical gears of different sizes exposed on the walls, which slowly rotate day and night.
The group took the external elevator all the way to the top floor of the building.
After exiting the elevator iron gate, there is a corridor with floor-to-ceiling glass on both sides decorated with Zaun-style bronze patterns.
At the end of the corridor, outside a pair of brown-red doors, there were at least 20 Shamatte thugs with different attire.
They chatted in groups of two or three, while some less sociable guys sat alone in a corner away from the crowd, playing with weapons such as daggers and darts.
Among them, there are many enhanced humans who have undergone alchemical transformation and have had certain parts of their bodies replaced with machines.
As soon as they saw Li Lin, Vander and his group, the more than 20 people suddenly became quiet, and their eyes were all focused on them with different expressions.
However, most people's eyes stayed on Li Lin for longer.
When everyone arrived at the door, Vander told Benso, Sevika and several other men to stay outside and not to conflict with these people.
Then, Vandel led the way, pushed open the door and walked straight into the hall, followed closely by Li Lin, who was wearing the "Infinity" Project Armor.
There were a total of 9 people in the house, two of whom were maids dressed as servants who were taking care of a woman in a wheelchair who looked very weak.
She had multiple jars filled with alchemical potions implanted in her body, connected by tubes to amplifier devices.
Hearing the sound of the door, everyone in the room who were discussing something fell silent.
After seeing who was coming, a man with a punk-style yin-yang hairstyle, wearing a yellow leather jacket with metal studs and bare chest, sitting opposite the door, spoke:
"Vandel, you're late."
His voice was a bit like smoke, hoarse and low, and he was playing with a golden flip-top lighter in his hand.
Li Lin narrowed his eyes and carefully observed the Shamatte man who was vaguely regarded as the leader by everyone.
His face, half of his shaved head, and chest were covered in black tattoos similar to those of the Bajau people of Bilgewater.
An implanted alchemical technology-enhanced metal jaw plate was installed in his chin.
Combined with that pair of eyes that are not big but reveal a hint of ruthlessness, it gives people a feeling that it is not easy to mess with.
On the way here, Fandel gave Li Lin a brief introduction to the five alchemy barons he knew.
The person speaking is Finn, who is in charge of the border market.
"It was only less than 20 minutes... After all these years, you're still so impatient, Finn."
Fandel seemed not to hear the dissatisfaction in Finn's tone. He walked to the other end of the long table opposite him, pulled out a chair and sat down.
Li Lin also found a chair and sat next to Fandel, causing the alchemist barons present to change their expressions.
As Fandel and Finn engaged in their first covert verbal exchange, Li Lin's eyes swept quickly over everyone.
The first person to Finn's right was a brown-haired yordle wearing a top hat and a tuxedo.
He is Barritt, who is in charge of the School of Thaumaturgy and Magic.
Sitting next to Barritt was a woman whose nose had been transformed into an alchemical technology amplification device, connected to two tubes that transported green liquid, and whose chin was installed with a metal plate.
This is the alchemy baron Renni from the plant cultivation center.
Sitting next to Renni was a woman wearing a mink coat. Her left arm had been transformed into a sharp blade like Edward Scissorhands' arm, and she had a chilling smile on her face.
The woman sitting in the wheelchair opposite her did not match Vandal's description. She must be the new alchemist Baron Voss and Lady Lanner that Sevika mentioned.
As for the woman with smoky makeup and many piercings on her face on Finn's left, and the man next to her with a sickly pale face, as if he had indulged in excessive sexual activities, they are Bonnie, who monopolizes the Zaun Ballroom, and Longfellow, who is in charge of the Huantai Square.
Except for Voss and Lannar, the other four old acquaintances of Vandel looked at Finn from time to time, as if he was the leader of this meeting.
After observing everyone, Li Lin withdrew his gaze. Vander's hypocritical greetings with several alchemy barons were almost over.
"Let's get down to business, Vander. What do you want us to do?" Ren Ni looked a little uneasy. She glanced at Li Lin beside Vander and asked.
Following closely, the Yordle Barritt added, "Yes, everyone has a lot of business on hand, and every minute wasted is money."
"We're not like you, staying in a safe alley every day. Someone pays you a share of the bill every month, but we have to rely on ourselves for food and drink."
Bonnie lit a cigarette, took a puff, and blew out a smoke ring. Although her face looked coquettish, her voice was very cold.
As if they had discussed it beforehand, the three of them took the lead in verbally attacking Vander.
Vandel, who should have still remembered their old friendship, gradually felt his warm heart turn cold when he saw their attitude.
"What? As brothers and sisters who have worked together until now, you don't even want to see each other now?" He spoke in a low voice, looking unhappy.
Seeing the atmosphere on the scene gradually developing in an uncontrollable direction, Longfellow hurriedly tried to smooth things over. "Hahaha, yes, of course I am willing. The boss's business is our business."
