Chapter 40: Oh no, she's fainted.

Chapter 40: Oh no, she's fainted.

Besides Ye Wei, six bodyguards followed her. It took them a lot of effort to squeeze through and protect her as she walked forward.

Qin Lan was stuck in the crowd, unable to move an inch. The cordon had long since collapsed, and everyone was desperately pushing forward to see what was happening.

Qin Lan's heart pounded like a drum, and she felt a little short of breath, but she bravely held on and shouted, "Scatter! Avoid a stampede!"

Qin Lan's fans began to restore order, and the fan club worked hard to disperse them. Qin Lan glanced one last time in the direction Jiang Yan might be, then walked in the opposite direction: "My fans, follow me!"

A large number of Qin fans began to follow her, but many others were more curious about the commotion over there and craned their necks to see what was happening.

Xiao Qing squeezed back, looking disheveled. Qin Lan grabbed her and asked in a low voice, "What happened? How is Jiang Yan?"

Xiaoqing, her face pale, said, "Teacher Jiang was injured. She was attacked by extremist fans, but the situation is under control now, thanks to Sister Ye Wei..."

Qin Lan stood there expressionless, as gloomy as a lion.

"Let's start organizing the autograph session and photo op now."

She opened her palm, and Xiaoqing quickly took out a pen, speaking with a deep breath: "Everyone come and get Qin Lan's autograph!!! We'll also be drawing lucky fans to take photos with her!"

As soon as she said this, everyone who heard it began to flock towards her.

Yu Jintang, who had almost been crushed into a meat patty, was finally freed. She took a deep breath of the suffocatingly hot air and laboriously moved to the center of the crowd. Jiang Yan was kneeling on the ground, clutching her ankle with one hand, with a half-filled water bottle lying beside her.

Her hair was wet, her mask was off and lying on the ground, and her assistant was anxiously talking to her beside her. The police tape was long gone, and the airport staff around had to form a circle with their bodies. There were three men lying on the ground nearby, one of whom was still struggling, but Ye Wei used a standard grappling technique to pin him to the ground.

The fans were in a frenzy, desperately wanting to see how Jiang Yan was doing: "Jiang Yan! Yan Yan! Is it in pain!"

"Yanyan, how are you?!"

Yu Jintang gasped and quickly ordered her bodyguards to keep an eye on the three people. Ye Wei slipped into the circle, half-squatted down in front of Jiang Yan, and handed her a mask, saying, "Miss Jiang."

Jiang Yan stood there stunned for a long while, as if she were in a daze.

Ye Wei had no choice but to put a mask on her, then magically produced a fisherman's hat, unfolded it, and fastened it. Then she turned around and gestured for Jiang Yan to lie down on top of her.

But Jiang Yan seemed lost in her own world, kneeling on the ground, unmoved.

“Miss Jiang,” Ye Wei turned around and reminded her.

Jiang Yan snapped out of her daze and obediently lay down on him. A weak voice sounded in her ear: "Is Qin Lan alright?"

"I don't know." Ye Wei's tone was a little worried. "It should be fine. You should rest for a while."

Jiang Yan's fan club managed to maintain order: "Everyone, don't crowd! Don't crowd! Make way for Yan Yan and get her to the hospital!"

The results were minimal. The fans were so passionate that they couldn't remain calm as they watched their idol fall in front of them.

Ye Wei started running and squeezed her way out before the crowd gathered. It was thanks to the fan club and airport staff who worked tirelessly to clear a path.

A black car was parked outside. The driver's side window was down, and Ye Wei recognized it as Yu Jintang's, but she still stopped warily. Then, Yu Jintang said breathlessly from behind, "That's...my car, get in quickly."

Ye Wei then helped Jiang Yan upstairs. After settling Jiang Yan in the back seat, she got into the car herself.

Yu Jintang squeezed in, panting heavily, and said, "Drive, to the Third Hospital."

After finally catching her breath, she turned around and saw Ye Wei still protecting Jiang Yan. She couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Hey Ye Wei, whose salary are you getting? Old Qin is still behind us, and you just followed us like that."

"Sister Qin instructed me to protect Miss Jiang as well," Ye Wei said. "Miss Jiang's condition is quite serious right now."

"Ye Wei is capable of great things." Yu Jintang gave her a thumbs up: "Teacher Jiang, how are you feeling? Did you sprain your ankle?"

Jiang Yan sat in the back with her head down, not saying a word.

Ye Wei half-squatted down and pressed Jiang Yan's ankle. The other woman flinched, but her expression remained unchanged. Ye Wei then looked up and said, "You sprained your ankle and were hit by a water bottle. You must be frightened. Miss Jiang already had a fever, and now it's probably even worse."

"Tell me, what happened?" Yu Jintang's face darkened.

Ye Wei took a deep breath.

She wasn't at the scene either, but she was closest to Jiang Yan compared to Qin Lan and Yu Jintang. At the time, she was helping the film crew move equipment and had fallen behind. She only heard a man suddenly shout Jiang Yan's name, and then the crowd started to stir.

She squeezed through with her agility and saw the man raise the water bottle, unscrew the cap, and smash it at Jiang Yan's head.

"You act in this kind of TV series, aren't you disgusted! I hate you!" The man's eyes were red.

Ye Wei tried her best to squeeze through, but she was still a step too slow. There were just too many people around. She saw Jiang Yan standing straight in place, her expression very indifferent, just watching the bottle smash on her head, and the cold water mixed with ice cubes poured over her head and face.

Then her foot slipped, and she was jostled by the chaotic crowd, falling down a step.

The fans started to go berserk.

Ye Wei was jostled and trampled several times. Then she saw two men pull out baseball bats and aim for the back of Jiang Yan's head. In a split second, Ye Wei pushed aside the last two men blocking her way, catching one bat in each hand. The baseball bats froze in her hands for a moment. As she released them, the two men stumbled forward, and she kneed one of them, then slammed him to the ground with a whip kick over his neck.

"How can you face your fans?! You actually filmed a sex scene with a woman! How disgusting! I must have been blind!"

"How could you film this kind of drama with Qin Lan! What about all the days we and her fans stayed up all night to fight for her?!"

The crowd's angry shouts drowned out the three men: "It's bad luck to be liked by people like you!!"

"What era are we living in that we still have discrimination!"

"Intentional homicide!! This is intentional homicide!!!"

Yu Jintang listened without saying a word, then handed Jiang Yan another coat and draped it over her shoulders: "When you fought those men, what did you think of them?"

"A newbie, very inexperienced," Ye Wei said calmly.

The car had already left the airport and turned onto the main road. Yu Jintang sat up straight and called Qin Lan: "She's not in serious danger. We're out now, you can leave. Don't worry about the film crew, the assistant director can handle it. See you at the Third Hospital."

"How is it?" Qin Lan asked in a low voice.

The fans around her looked on with curiosity as she answered the phone, but she couldn't explain it too clearly.

"He sprained his ankle and doesn't look well. He might develop a high fever later."

"Is Ye Wei here?"

“I’m here, don’t worry. I’m announcing that I’m going to officially recognize her as the reliable Ye Wei.” Yu Jintang joked, but her expression was gloomy: “We’re being targeted. I’ll find out the truth.”

Qin Lan glanced at the fans around her and said, "Don't hang up yet, wait a moment."

Then, covering the phone's earpiece, she said to the surrounding fans, "That's all for today's signing. Thank you all for your hard work. Go home early, be careful, and don't trample."

Xiaoqing (a type of small, green, loudspeaker) works better than an electric one.

Bodyguards escorted Qin Lan to her own car, while her luggage was taken to the hotel by the film crew's bus.

The assistant director squeezed out, drenched in sweat. After Qin Lan confirmed that the crew had suffered no damage, she closed the door and let go of his hand: "Give the phone to Jiang Yan."

Yu Jintang handed over the phone: "It's Lao Qin on the phone."

Jiang Yan finally reacted. She reached out to take it, but her fingertips trembled slightly, and her whole body seemed to be steaming.

Ye Wei took the phone and held it to her ear.

Before Jiang Yan could speak, Qin Lan's anxious voice came through: "How are you?"

Jiang Yan wanted to reply, but before she could open her mouth, her throat tightened and she couldn't say a word.

"Jiang Yan? Are you there? It's Qin Lan." Qin Lan waited a long time for her to speak, then grew even more anxious: "Is anyone there? Yu Jintang? Ye Wei?"

"Yes." Jiang Yan's voice came through, trembling with sobs, but even listening closely, all she could hear was a faint whimper.

Qin Lan was extremely anxious and said to Xiao Qing, "Call Ye Wei and ask her to share your location."

Urged on by Qin Lan, the driver sped up and headed toward the point on the map.

"Are you still there, Jiang Yan?"

"Um."

"Is there any other injury? Does your foot hurt?"

"pain."

Qin Lan stared blankly at her phone, unsure of what to feel.

She could only comfort him, saying, "I'm almost there. You go with Yu Jintang to see a doctor first."

Twenty minutes later, Qin Lan, who had rushed over, saw Jiang Yan wrapped in a blanket. Ye Wei stood dutifully to the side, while Yu Jintang paced back and forth anxiously on the phone in the distance.

"Can the trending topic be removed?"

"We really can't do anything about this. This matter has had a terrible impact, and the level of discussion surrounding it is huge..." The person on the other end sounded extremely anxious, sweating profusely.

"I'll give you ten more minutes to come up with a public relations solution and resolve this matter."

She hung up the phone and dialed again: "How was our flight information leaked?"

"We've already investigated, and there's no problem on our end. The airline has also stated that this shouldn't be their problem."

Yu Jintang's face darkened. "You mean the problem lies with my production crew?"

"There are many people on the film crew, and you, boss, have very high standards for us, so we're unlikely to have any problems. But you don't want to cause panic on the crew, so many people don't know the real situation, including the problems we're facing."

"Okay." Yu Jintang hung up the phone and turned around to see Qin Lan: "Old Qin."

Qin Lan walked up to Jiang Yan, pinched her face to check it over, and then looked at her ankles, which were wrapped up tightly with two ice packs on them.

"The doctor said there was no fracture, just a minor ligament strain. With proper care, it should recover in about one or two weeks. During this time, strenuous exercise should be avoided, and prolonged walking should be minimized," Yu Jintang said.

"Then Teacher Jiang got a fever of 38.5 degrees Celsius. She just took fever reducer. We'll let her sweat it out later."

"Does it hurt?" Qin Lan didn't realize that she had softened her voice.

Jiang Yan looked at her, her lips trembled, and tears fell from her eyes.

Qin Lan was startled and quickly wiped away her tears: "Don't cry, is it hurting too much?"

Yu Jintang chuckled and tried to pull Ye Wei out, but when she turned around, Ye Wei was already gone. She shook her head speechlessly and walked out, closing the door behind her.

"Your eyes are going to be swollen from crying today!" Qin Lan was both distressed and anxious, frantically wiping her eyes while also scolding her, "Why didn't you protect yourself? They threw bottles at you, why didn't you dodge?"

Ye Wei told her that Jiang Yan seemed to be waiting for the bottle to hit her; she had never seen anyone's eyes so lifeless.

Jiang Yan remained silent. Qin Lan forced her to raise her head and demanded, "Speak."

"Why didn't you dodge? Or did he call you disgusting, and you really think you're disgusting?"

"I was too tired at the time." Jiang Yan's calm tone made Qin Lan feel powerless, like punching cotton. "I just didn't want to move."

In that moment, she thought of so many things. She was so tired, scared, and cold. After losing her grandparents, it was as if she had lost her protective umbrella overnight. Only then did she realize how difficult it was to live alone, and how much malice could be in people's hearts.

She thought she was no longer affected by the days when her hair was pulled, she was mocked for not having parents, and she was called a vixen. But when someone shouted "disgusting" and said they were extremely disappointed in her, she was pulled back to those days.

She felt so tired.

"Jiang Yan!" Qin Lan stood up in fury and disappointment. "Are you trying to die?"

Jiang Yan remained silent, staring blankly at the blanket.

She was so angry she wanted to leave on the spot, not wanting to see Jiang Yan's self-destructive state anymore. But after taking only two steps, her heart seemed to be pulled back by something invisible. She frowned and stood still, staring at the white wall opposite her in great confusion.

Qin Lan suddenly turned around and grabbed Jiang Yan by the throat.

Caught off guard, Jiang Yan's face turned pale: "Qin Lan... what are you doing!"

"Rebel against me." Qin Lan glared at her darkly.

Tears welled up in Jiang Yan's eyes.

Qin Lan said coldly, "I don't like seeing your tears. I admire evenly matched opponents, not a coward who stands there and lets others bully him!"

Jiang Yan looked up at her, and the stubbornness and wildness that flashed in her eyes surprised her a little. She reached out to pry Qin Lan's hand, but she couldn't budge it.

Qin Lan released one hand, grabbed her hair, and forced her to lift her upper body: "Continue, let me see what else you can do!"

Jiang Yan, not to be outdone, reached out and attacked her eyes.

"No!" Qin Lan punched her ribs mercilessly: "Are you just waiting for others to attack your weaknesses?!"

She grabbed Jiang Yan's wrist and dragged her toward the bed.

"Let go! Let go of me!" Jiang Yan struggled desperately, but she was delirious from the fever and had no strength to break free. She tried to pry Qin Lan's wrist off, but couldn't. In desperation, she grabbed Qin Lan's wrist and pulled hard, but Qin Lan raised her wrist and easily broke free from her grasp.

"Do you understand now?" The woman demonstrated again: "Now try to break free from me."

Jiang Yan tried to pull her wrist towards her own direction, but when she still couldn't pull it off, she desperately used both hands and actually managed to slowly break free.

Exhausted, she slumped onto the bed, staring at her hands in confusion: "I tried so hard just now and it didn't work, so why does it work now?"

"Remember this move," Qin Lan said coldly. "If your wrist is grabbed, don't try to tug-of-war with the other person; you'll likely lose. Push hard towards the web of your thumb and forefinger; if that doesn't work, use both hands together."

She tried to grab Jiang Yan's wrist again, but this time the other woman quickly grabbed her own fist, hooked it back hard, and then unexpectedly flipped over and pinned her down.

Qin Lan chuckled and was about to deliver a knee strike when suddenly his body went limp.

"Oh, you've even learned some thuggish fighting techniques." Her face flushed red as she looked down, her hair standing on end. "Who taught you that?"

Jiang Yan lifted her clothes and bit her waist hard, her claws still moving: "I've wanted to do this for a long time."

With a slight exertion, Qin Lan groaned, her waist involuntarily arching upwards: "You... damn Jiang Yan, get out of here..."

She gripped Zhuang Dan tightly, unable to control her panting.

"What? Teacher Qin doesn't like it?" Jiang Yan made a big gesture: "I think Teacher Qin's body language is more honest than her words. She clearly wants it."

"Did I give you permission to sleep with me, ex-wife?" Qin Lan grabbed her hair angrily, but this time it was as if she wasn't even using any force.

Jiang Yan gave up resisting her and tightened her grip, causing Qin Lan to unconsciously loosen her hold.

Jiang Yan is now incredibly wild, and Qin Lan feels like she's being electrocuted by her.

"Let go!" she snapped, but her seductive voice sounded more like flirting: "Pervert!"

"Then don't shake it, it'll make you seem really excited." Jiang Yan laughed: "Why is Teacher Qin still picking the banker's order?"

Qin Lan was so angry that she grabbed her shoulders instead.

She retorted defiantly, still not satisfied: "Put some effort into it, didn't you eat?"

Then she was so shaken that she couldn't help but groan loudly.

"Doesn't Teacher Qin like evenly matched competition?" Jiang Yan kissed her groin, pressed her body against hers, and brazenly slipped her other hand inside her shirt.

Qin Lan felt a hot sensation pressed against her, so comfortable that her heart trembled.

"Didn't you like people who would fight back? What? Now that you've been counterattacked, you're starting to curse again?"

"you**!!"

"Teacher Qin really likes to scold people, both inside and outside the village." Jiang Yan raised her head, her reddened eyes sparkling, and licked her lips seductively: "I can smell Teacher Qin's fragrance. I really want to taste Teacher Qin's flavor."

Qin Lan, unable to bear it any longer, shoved her aside: "You fucking can't stand not being horny for a day, can you?!"

Jiang Yan collapsed to the side, her voice gone.

Qin Lan straightened her pants, her legs trembling, and angrily turned around, pointing at her: "You damned Jiang Yan, you you you—"

Turning around, she found Jiang Yan seemed to have fainted, which terrified her: "No way! You damn Jiang Yan, wake up! My God, you didn't—you didn't faint, did you!"

Heavens above!

Jiang Yan was unconscious and her body was burning hot.

Qin Lan had no choice but to wipe her hands before going to call someone.

Miss Qin's level of embarrassment is off the charts.

Damn Jiang Yan, she was trembling all over.

And why does it feel like it can't quite close...?

She took two shaky steps, cursing wildly in her mind.
