Chapter 62 Acquaintances ( ) In short, it's all acquaintances again.
Thomas turned and ran.
Fighting these two is pointless; he has no weapons and might even attract others, wasting even more time.
He deftly dodged the Robin Darts and activated the miniature quantum starter...
But he tripped over something.
"Hey! What's your relationship with the Scarecrow...?" The troublemaker had successfully tied Thomas up and was rapidly closing in on him.
"I just happened to be passing by and have nothing to do with the scarecrow."
“That area has been sealed off by us, and unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering.”
"And Gotham City doesn't have your facial information."
The purple light spread, also enveloping the troublemakers.
Thomas didn't have time to argue. He pulled hard on the rope, trying to pull the hook off his body, but it seemed too late.
In a critical moment, Red Robin tried to use her grappling hook to pull the troublemaker away.
The situation is very complicated.
The two grappling hooks tightened the ropes together, entangled them, and pulled the three people together...
With a flash of purple light, the three of them disappeared from the spot.
-
"Cough cough cough! Ugh..."
Red Robin struggled and gagged twice.
Unfortunately, they ended up in a large dumpster.
"Uh... what the hell is this place?" The troublemaker tried to untangle himself from the hooks binding him, but it was proving difficult.
So she took out Robin's darts and tried to break a grappling hook.
“I guess he used a short-range teleportation device,” Red Robin said with difficulty, pulling out one of his bound hands. “But deploying short-range teleportation in Gotham, right under Batman’s nose, is obviously not something anyone can do.”
"Smack."
One rope was cut by the disruptor, and the other hook was automatically retrieved.
"Phew." The troublemaker breathed a sigh of relief, quickly stood up, and rummaged through the trash can. "Where's that 'just passing by' gentleman?"
“He’s here.” Red Robin lifted the mysterious man up and forcefully pulled him out of the trash can.
"He looks somewhat familiar," commented the troublemaker.
“Yeah…” Red Robin steadied himself and disgustedly removed the trash hanging from his belt. “Quite classic black hair and blue eyes.”
“Actually, I was talking about his facial features,” the troublemaker leaned closer, “Don’t you think he looks a bit like… no, wait! Is he not breathing?”
Indeed, the morgue attendant's chest hadn't risen or fallen for half a day.
Red Robin rushed over and tried to perform CPR on the morgue attendant to prevent him from actually ending up in the morgue.
Just before Red Robin's hand was about to touch Mr. Morgue, Mr. Morgue opened his eyes.
Red Robin reacted quickly, grabbing the morgue attendant and threatening, "Who are you? Where is this? What are you doing in the morgue?"
Thomas glanced at him, then closed his eyes again.
"Are you injured?"
Thomas pretended not to hear; he even held his breath again, trying to disguise himself as a corpse.
“…Stop playing dead.” Red Robin picked up the stick. “You don’t want to know the consequences.”
"Just kill me already," Thomas replied weakly. "I've been wanting to die for a long time anyway."
What's the point of living like this? Forget it, I might as well just die.
While the two of them were locked in a life-or-death struggle, the troublemaker quietly peeked out to observe the street scene outside the alley.
“…This is Gotham.” The troublemaker pulled his head back. “Even the Diamond District.”
“Excellent,” Red Robin put away his stick. “Then let’s take him to Batman…”
Thomas sat up abruptly.
No... I can't go back.
“This is not your Gotham.” Thomas dodged Red Robin’s attack. “This is Gotham in the multiverse, my Gotham.”
"Multiverse?" Red Robin paused slightly.
“Yes, my name is Thomas Wayne,” Thomas said with disgust, taking off his coat and tossing it into the trash can. He then began to think about what kind of lie to tell. “I was just testing the latest prototype and accidentally ended up in your Gotham.”
The two looked at each other but said nothing.
“In short, this was a complete accident,” Thomas continued. “I will send you back.”
How can we trust you?
“Trust is unnecessary in cooperation,” Thomas replied. “You don’t need to trust me. Either wait for Batman to come and save you, or you’ll have to accept my help. By the way, the Batman of this world hasn’t mastered the technology related to the multiverse yet, while the Batman of your world needs to calculate coordinates one by one, so it’s impossible for him to find you in a short time.”
“So,” Red Robin said, “what’s your relationship with Bruce Wayne?”
"brother."
-
In short, the three of them arrived at one of Thomas's residences in a very disheveled state.
Thomas immediately picked up the phone and dialed Wayne Manor's number.
“Alfred,” Thomas said weakly, “for some inexplicable reason, I won’t go back to sleep tonight.”
"Are you injured, young master Thomas?"
“No, Alfred, you still have to provide me with dessert every day.” Thomas perked up a little. “I just (emphasized the word) accidentally fell into the trash can when I left there.”
"Your clothes?"
“I’ll throw them all away,” Thomas replied. “I’ll go back tomorrow. I’ll stay here tonight. Goodnight, Alfred.”
Thomas hung up the phone and rushed into the bathroom as fast as he could.
He seemed completely unconcerned that there were two outsiders present, simply telling them to choose any two rooms they wanted, since he planned to throw away some of the furnishings the next day anyway...
Okay, the two outsiders exchanged a glance, and despite their stench, tried to make sense of what had happened that day.
"Do you think he's telling the truth?" The troublemaker looked around, trying to glean some clues from the room.
“Not necessarily,” Red Robin replied. “If it’s the latest test subject, he’s unlikely to figure out the situation immediately.”
"Indeed, he seems to know what the multiverse is, and even knows that Batman has difficulty finding the coordinates here."
“That’s right,” Red Robin said critically, looking at the decor. “And… I believe Alfred wouldn’t allow the Wayne family property to be decorated like this.”
It is indeed very luxurious here, but the color scheme and the furniture arrangement are all wrong.
The two remained silent for a while.
"Do you think he's Bruce's brother?" the troublemaker broke the silence first.
“Even if he is, he’s just Thomas Wayne from the multiverse, and has nothing to do with us,” Red Robin replied rationally. “...And according to Batman, we should be more careful about Wayne from the multiverse.”
“I remember Batman talking about this case during training,” the troublemaker recalled, “evil Superman and Wonder Woman, righteous Joker and Lex Luthor, and the one who wants to destroy the world…Night Owl.”

-
The fact that Finn and Tidney here come from the Batman universe of Two Earths Crisis (which is quite bizarre, isn't it?)
Thomas hasn't revealed his identity as Night Owl yet, thanks to the Ultimate Man who openly showed himself. Currently, everyone still believes Night Owl is Bruce's alter ego.
