Chapter 803 Obtaining Rare Spring Water

Liu Laoba turned a disaster into a blessing and finally found a place to settle down.

He knew very well that this opportunity was hard to come by, so he worked very hard and won the appreciation of Mr. Zhao.

Liu Laoba went to the fields to farm every day, and when he got home he had to do various chores, and even had to herd sheep for Zhao Caizhu.

One early summer, the weather was just beginning to get hot, and there were lush green trees everywhere.

Liu Laoba drove a few sheep to the grass shed at the east end of the village to graze.

Usually, when he is herding sheep, it is the most relaxing time for Liu Laoba.

He just had to drive the sheep into the grass nest, and then he could sit leisurely on the grass slope, smoke his pipe and rest.

Sometimes when he is in a good mood, he will hum a few lines from an opera. This is his rare leisure time.

As usual that day, he drove the sheep to the grass kennel, and then sat on the grass slope to bask in the sun and smoke his pipe.

After finishing a pot of dry tobacco, Liu Laoba felt sleepy and fell asleep while sitting on the grass slope without realizing it.

He didn't know how long he slept, but he suddenly woke up with a start. He looked up and saw that the sun was about to set.

Liu Laoba got up quickly, as it was time to drive the sheep back.

But when he looked into the grass nest, he was shocked to find that the rich man's sheep was gone!

Liu Laoba was really scared now, because these sheep were the treasures of the rich man. If they were lost, he would not be able to pay the compensation even if he sold himself!

Frightened, Liu Laoba rushed to look for the sheep. When he arrived at the grass nest, he was dumbfounded. There was no trace of the sheep!

He had no choice but to look around the grass nest, but after walking around for a long time, he still couldn't see any trace of the sheep.

Just when Liu Laoba was completely desperate, he suddenly heard a few sheep bleating coming from the north.

Liu Laoba was overjoyed and quickly climbed up the grass slope and reached the plain.

He was surprised to find that there was a large area of green grass here, which looked very lush.

The flock of sheep were grazing leisurely, and Liu Laoba finally relaxed his tense heart.

He shouted, "So you guys came here. You scared me to death."

As he spoke, he walked towards the flock of sheep.

When he came to the flock of sheep, he found that the grass here was so beautiful, so green and tall, it was really tempting to look at it.

Liu Laoba thought to himself that this place could be used to graze sheep in the future, which was much better than the grass nest.

While he was thinking, he suddenly stepped on empty air. With a splash, a small hole appeared under his feet, and a stream of clear water gushed out, wetting his shoes.

Liu Laoba was so scared that he jumped to the side. He didn't understand why there was clear water under the grass.

He walked cautiously to the small hole, took a closer look, and couldn't help but scream.

It turns out that there is a clear spring here, and the water seems to be particularly clear, which is pleasing to the eye.

He carefully scooped up some water, put it in his mouth and tasted it, and was immediately stunned.

This spring water was so delicious, clear and sweet, with the scent of flowers and fruits. Just one sip made him feel relaxed and intoxicated.

Liu Laoba immediately realized that this was a magical spring given by God and was definitely not an ordinary spring water.

He was overjoyed, wondering if God took pity on him and was indicating that his luck was about to change.

Thinking of this, he carefully covered the spring with green grass, and then returned to the rich man's house happily.

Strangely enough, as soon as he got home, Mr. Zhao told him the good news that a girl wanted to marry him and asked him if he was willing.

Liu Laoba was so happy about this good thing that fell from the sky that he immediately nodded in agreement.

Mr. Zhao immediately asked someone to bring the girl over. It turned out that the girl was also a servant working in Mr. Zhao's house.

She has always had a crush on Liu Laoba and hopes to marry him.

After Zhao Caizhu learned about this, he felt that Liu Laoba was a good man and had done a very good job for his family over the years, so he agreed.

The two fell in love with each other as soon as they met and quickly decided to get married.

Liu Laoba suddenly remembered that place, so he proposed to settle down there.

Mr. Zhao had already found a good place for him to build a few thatched houses.

But Liu Laoba insisted on living there. When Zhao Caizhu saw that he was quite determined, he finally agreed.

When the two came here, there was no one to help them. The couple built two thatched houses by themselves and started their life there.

During this period, Liu Laoba also told his wife the secret of the spring. His wife was very happy when she heard it. They believed that this was a sign that God would bless their family and bring prosperity.

So they dug a shallow well near the spring, piled stones on it, covered it with a lid, and then lived on the clear spring.

After that, Liu Laoba had a son, and his son had a grandson. The Liu family has lived here for generations and has never left.

Every generation has kept this secret very strictly, and outsiders have no idea that there is a clear spring in their home.

It was not until Liu Qinggui's generation that his father told him before his death that he must protect the spring water, saying that it was the most precious thing to their Liu family.

Therefore, Liu Qinggui has been guarding the clear spring for decades and has never mentioned it to outsiders.

After listening to Liu Qinggui's narration of the history of the spring, Zhou Bin couldn't help but feel deeply moved.

It turns out that this spring has such a complicated story. It is really eye-opening.

But why did the uncle tell me this secret today?

Zhou Bin felt a little strange and asked, "Uncle, this spring water is so precious. Is it appropriate for you to tell me?"
