"Swish—"
Jiang Zexing opened his eyes, slowly turned over, and faced Jiang Wan.
There was no expression on his face for a moment. After a moment, he looked up and looked at Jiang Wan steadily.
"Wanwan, you shouldn't talk to your grandma like that."
Jiang Zexing's face was pale, and his words were even more pale and weak.
Jiang Wan had a blank expression on her face.
"Dad, you think so in your heart, but others don't think so."
"You think of them in your heart, but they may not think of you in their hearts!"
Jiang Zexing said nothing and just closed his eyes.
Jiang Wan didn't provoke him anymore. She turned around and waved to Jiang Li behind her, then lowered her head and whispered a few words in his ear.
"Sister, I understand."
Jiang Li nodded, turned around and ran towards home.
Jiang Wan cleaned up the mess in the room. There was a strong smell of blood in the room. When she opened the window, the smell dissipated a little.
Jiang Wan also took the clothes out to wash.
Jiang Zexing's leg was injured and he didn't dare to move. She begged Uncle Lin to let Jiang Zexing stay here for a few more days.
"Ali——"
Su Yun was waiting anxiously at home. When he saw Jiang Li coming in, he quickly got out of bed.
"How's your dad?"
Jiang Li glanced at Su Yun, then looked at the door.
He reached out and squeezed Su Yun's hand, then spoke softly.
"Mother, Second Aunt."
Su Yun was stunned for a moment, then quickly reacted and nodded.
"Uncle Lin said Dad's condition is very bad, especially his leg... The leg is injured too badly... Maybe, maybe he won't recover..."
"What?"
Su Yun's face turned pale, and he staggered, his legs going weak and he almost fell to the ground.
"Your father...how could it be?"
When Xie Ying heard Jiang Li's words, his eyes flashed and he left the door of the main room quietly.
After she left, Jiang Li supported Su Yun and quickly helped her to the bed.
"Mom, are you okay?"
"Ali, your father——"
Su Yun grabbed his arm tightly, looking nervous.
"Mom, my dad is fine. My sister told me to say this. She said this is not a simple matter, so let me say this first—"
He whispered softly in Su Yun's ear.
Su Yun breathed a sigh of relief. No wonder Wanwan told her to stay at home and wait when she left.
I can only listen to the news she and Ali brought back.
"Where are your father and sister now?"
"They are still at Uncle Lin's house. Let me come back and tell you first."
"Mom, my sister told me to tell you that you must not let anyone find out that Dad's leg is not injured."
At least not now.
"Mom knows."
Su Yun was sweating profusely, as if he had escaped death.
The whole family knew about Jiang Zexing's serious injury during dinner.
Jiang Anfu's face was filled with worry.
This worried look was not because he was worried about Jiang Zexing's injury, but because he was worried that once Jiang Zexing was injured, there would not be enough people in the family to work during the autumn harvest, and then it would be their family that suffered the loss.
On the dining table, there was rough corn porridge in a coarse porcelain bowl and a few plates of green and yellow pickles. It looked a bit bland, but Jiang Wan ate it with gusto.
Pick up a bowl of rice porridge, put pickles in it, stir it, and it will be just the right amount of salty. Eat it directly with coarse flour buns.
Jiang Anfu looked at her and put down the chopsticks in his hand. His fingers were trembling a little. He touched the pipe at his waist and put it into his mouth without lighting it.
There were only a few crumbs left in his pipe, which was not easy to smoke. He took it out just to keep up appearances.
Jiang Wan was not affected at all and concentrated on eating.
"Oh, Jiang Wan, you're really generous. Your father is in such a state, and you can still eat?"
Seeing that she looked like a starving ghost, Xie Ying sneered disdainfully.
Jiang Wan reached out and picked up another piece of greens with her chopsticks. "What did Second Aunt say? If I don't eat more, who will take care of my father later? Is Second Aunt going to help me?"
"You dead girl, what nonsense are you talking about!"
She was the second wife's daughter-in-law, so why should she take care of the first wife's people? What would it look like if it got out?
Jiang Anfu raised his pipe and knocked on the dining table lightly. After a long time, he spoke in a serious tone.
"Wanwan, how is your father?"
Hearing this, Jiang Wan looked up at Jiang Anfu and said, "My father is still lying in Uncle Lin's house. He's still a little warm..."
"That leg of his..."
Jiang Wan lowered her eyes, and when she looked up again, her eyes were red.
"When I went there, my father was still thinking about getting out of bed and going to work in the fields. If I hadn't stopped him, I'm afraid... I'm afraid my father would be dead now..."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Anfu swallowed the words on his lips and looked at Jiang Wan deeply.
"In that case, let the boss take good care of him first, and we can talk about the farm matters later."
He sighed, clearly disappointed at the news.
"What do you mean by taking good care of him? If he's not well, how will we handle the farm work?"
"Mom, but the child's father's legs are not good now, and he can't get out of bed..."
"Bah! Bullshit! It's just a broken leg, not two. How come you can't get out of bed? Are you going to let Xiaoshan go? I'm telling you, no way!"
Su Yun's face turned pale. He had never thought that Old Mrs. Zhang would be so heartless.
Her reaction was within Jiang Wan's expectations. When she raised her head, her expression darkened slightly at Jiang Yue's provocative gaze.
"Grandma, my dad is not the only one in the family. Now he is seriously injured. Are you going to force him to death? Aren't my second uncle and younger uncle also part of the family?"
