"Yes, Mu Yanxi." Yanxi looked at him with a smile.
Mu Beichen looked at him quietly for a long time, then lowered his head, not knowing what he was thinking.
…
Yan Xi thought that he had been in a coma for a day and a night and would not be able to sleep tonight, but it didn't take long before he was so sleepy that his eyelids were drooping.
After Mu Beichen finished eating the remaining steamed buns, he pulled him into the house and prepared to go to bed.
But here comes the problem.
There was only one bed in the room, and the floor was bumpy, making it difficult to sleep on it.
Yan Xi was in a dilemma. After thinking it over, he decided to sleep sideways so that two people could sleep together.
"Just make do with this for tonight, I'll figure out a solution tomorrow."
Mu Beichen didn't say anything, which meant he had no objection.
But after Yan Xi went to bed, Mu Beichen had no intention of going to bed. He simply found a corner and curled up together.
Yan Xi was stunned, and quickly patted the empty space and said, "Don't sleep on the floor, sleep here."
Mu Beichen looked at him, not moving at all.
Yan Xi pursed her lips, stood up and picked him up.
His body suddenly flew into the air. Mu Beichen felt anxious and struggled a few times.
"Don't move. If you move again, I'll fall down and you might be crushed to death." Yan Xi said with a cold face.
Mu Beichen suddenly didn't dare to move and fell silent.
Yan Xi's arms were soft because they were full of flesh.
Yan Xi put him on the bed.
Mu Beichen lay there stiffly, motionless.
Yan Xi nodded with satisfaction, blew out the oil lamp and fell asleep beside him.
He had good sleep quality and fell asleep quickly.
Mu Beichen entered an unfamiliar environment and was very alert. He couldn't fall asleep, especially since there was someone next to him, which made him very uncomfortable.
So he witnessed with his own eyes that at midnight, when the temperature dropped, Yan Xi turned over and wrapped himself in all the quilts, shivering with cold.
He curled up into a ball for warmth.
Just when he was about to fall asleep, Yan Xi turned over again and pushed him off the bed.
Mu Beichen was stunned by the fall, but also became much more sober.
With the moonlight outside the window, looking at Yan Xi who occupied the entire bed alone, he silently returned to the corner of the room, hugged himself tightly, and with a barely slight sense of security, he fell into a light sleep.
The next morning, the rooster crowed and Yan Xi woke up. He yawned and stretched comfortably. He looked down and found that the person on the bed was gone. He was so scared that he looked everywhere.
Mu Beichen was awakened by his noise. He walked out bewilderedly, looking at the people rushing around in the yard, and said in a hoarse voice, "I'm here."
Hearing the voice, Yan Xi turned around instantly. When the young boy came into view, he felt relieved and hurried over to look around. "Where have you been? Why didn't I see you in the room just now?"
Mu Beichen looked back at the house and indicated that he was inside.
Yan Xi thought of the corner where he was going to sleep yesterday and said nothing.
After cooking a few sweet potatoes for Mu Beichen, Yan Xi planned to borrow Uncle Chen's oxen to plow the remaining paddy fields.
When Mu Beichen found out that he was going out, he stopped eating sweet potatoes and hurried to follow him.
Yan Xi noticed his behavior and waved at him while carrying a large backpack. "Go back, don't follow me. I will be back when the sun sets."
Mu Beichen stared at him eagerly until Yan Xi disappeared from his sight.
He was a little uneasy, and his beautiful eyes were full of anxiety.
He searched at the door for a long time, until he was so hungry that he could no longer bear it. He went back to the kitchen and ate the sweet potatoes that Yan Xi had cooked for him.
When there were only two left, he was still not full and wanted to eat but stopped.
He kept waiting, and if there was any movement in the yard, he would hide, afraid that others would discover him.
…
Yan Xi plowed the remaining three paddy fields in one breath.
He picked up the snails and some loaches in the basket. On the way home, he saw raspberries, wild onions and shepherd's purse.
Yan Xi's eyes lit up and his mouth watered as he put everything into his pocket.
After returning home, Mu Beichen, who was hiding in the corner, heard such heavy footsteps. He cautiously stuck his head out and found that he had returned. He walked out of the corner and opened the door to greet him.
Yan Xi had a great harvest this time. He carried a basket of snails and some loaches on his back, a large bundle of wild onions and shepherd's purse in his hands, and three large bags of raspberries wrapped in tung leaves.
Seeing Mu Beichen staring at the food in his hand, Yan Xi smiled and said, "I'll make you something delicious tonight."
Mu Beichen's eyes lit up instantly.
Seeing this, Yan Xi smiled.
After taking a bath, Yan Xi put the snails and loaches in a wooden barrel, added water and salt, and left it for an hour.
Then prepare to wash the raspberries, wild onions and shepherd's purse.
While washing, Mu Beichen moved closer and closer, imitating his way to help wash it clean.
While washing, Yan Xi picked several raspberries for him to eat.
Sweet.
Mu Beichen had seen them before, but didn't know they were edible.
I didn’t expect it to taste so good. I wanted to eat it again.
Yan Xi fed him another one and said with a smile: "This is called raspberry. This is the last one. I will make you some delicious cakes with the rest. If you want to eat some, I will pick some for you tomorrow, okay?"
Mu Beichen looked at him intently, licked his lips and nodded.
