Chapter 13

Amidst the envious gazes of the crowd, Gou Fugui returned to his tent and then enjoyed a fresh seafood feast.

Yes, it was a seafood feast. The rich and beautiful man wasn't just eating tuna; he also had a bunch of scallops and a dozen shrimp in his backpack.

There was also a large crab that he pulled out from a hidden little space under his armpit.

Wash the seafood in a basin with water, then put it in a small alcohol stove that can burn alcohol and cook it with half a bowl of white rice. That makes a fragrant seafood porridge!

Once the porridge is cooked, open a bottle of Lao Gan Ma chili sauce; the taste is just amazing!

Even though he tightly closed the door of his small tent, he still couldn't stop the cravings from pacing back and forth around the tent, trying to sneak a peek inside.

Among those craving food was Song Sanchuan in the tent two tents away from his. This highly skilled and outstanding soldier of the nation only took a quick stroll outside Gou Fugui's tent and sniffed around before accurately determining what Gou Fugui was eating.

Then he sidled up to his boss's tent, number 224, and sighed with a worried expression: "...Boss, the people next door are having seafood porridge and eating sashimi, and what's worse, they're even having Lao Gan Ma chili sauce with it!! But we can only eat seafood instant noodles..."

"I've never been this miserable since I enlisted."

He was a specially recruited technical soldier by the state, a highly skilled talent, yet he's reduced to eating instant noodles.

Qin Feng was eating a bowl of braised beef noodles when he comforted the youngest soldier in his team, saying, "It's okay, we'll know to bring some precious metals next time."

The main problem is that nobody expected to fall into the sea at the start of the game, and then basically lose all their equipment.

Xie Tianlang chewed on his instant noodles and scoffed, "Useless! He can go catch fish but you can't? Have you forgotten all the team's training?"

"He's an ordinary person who can carry back a longfin tuna, so how can you, a special forces soldier, lose to him?"

Song Sanchuan almost choked on his instant noodles, and he gave Xie Tianlang a look of fear and disbelief.

But Xie Tianlang wasn't joking at all: "Now that we have a stable foothold, we should all go out and look for useful equipment and food in the next few days."

"Once this place gets flooded, we'll have to move on to the next place."

Xie Tianlang looked up at Song Sanchuan: "We'll split into groups. Either we'll grab rations, find fruit, canned goods, and vegetables, or we'll go find a boat."

Have you chosen which one?

Song Sanchuan swallowed the instant noodles in his mouth with difficulty, and after a while asked, "Is instant noodles okay as food?"

Xie Tianlang refused expressionlessly: "I want fresh seafood bigger than a tuna."

Song Sanchuan: "..." What kind of strange competitive spirit is this, Captain Xie?!

"Then I'll go find a boat."

He could first use his computer to locate shops in the city that sell small boats or watercraft equipment. Although the journey might be a bit longer and he might not be able to find his target immediately, it would still be easier than... catching a one-meter-long tuna with his bare hands!

Xie Tianlang seemed unsurprised by his choice: "Then the three of you should form a group and try to find a motorboat, two portable kayaks, and enough fuel within six days."

"I'll be in charge of getting the food for the next few days."

Qin Feng and Lu Hu nodded seriously, while Song Sanchuan nodded and gave Xie Tianlang a look of utter deference.

So, boss, the grouping you're talking about is you in one group and the three of us in another? You really are the biggest werewolf in the world!

Then, without thinking, Song Sanchuan couldn't help but ask, "So, Captain Xie, what are you planning to catch to eat?"

Upon hearing this, Xie Tianlang slowly revealed a smile.

"He has to be older than that kid."

Qin Feng and the other two: "..."

So sometimes they can understand why the higher-ups would let Xie go home to retire.

He's just too much for an ordinary person to handle.

Perhaps because of Gou Fugui's successful fishing trip, the number of people preparing to go fishing increased significantly on the third day of their refuge in the stadium's safe zone.

Although the storm was still raging, the atmosphere inside the stadium was so dull and boring that some young people who thought they were good swimmers and physically strong packed their bags early in the morning and prepared to go outside.

Some of these clever individuals even managed to procure fishing gear like nets from somewhere, while others wore water rescue equipment strapped to their arms or around their necks. At first glance, they looked quite professional.

However, the actions of these people left the stadium's security zone managers somewhat helpless. For everyone's safety, they absolutely did not recommend going out fishing or anything like that during a rainstorm.

But their safe zones aren't prisons; they can't forcibly restrict citizens' freedom. Besides, the reasons these people give are all quite compelling—

If you're broke, you can't buy clothes or good food. You'll have to go out and earn some money, right?

I'm going crazy from being cooped up inside. The kid next door is making a ruckus and screaming all the time. He's going to hit the kid if I don't let him go out for some fresh air.

My home is nearby, and I want to go back to check the situation and try to salvage any valuables...

Since everyone was eager to go out, the stadium management had no choice but to let them go, but made a disclaimer and reminder over the stadium's loudspeakers.

The gist is that you can go out, but the safe zone will not be responsible for any injuries or deaths you suffer outside, nor will it send anyone to search for or rescue you. Those considering going out should choose carefully.

After the loudspeaker broadcast the announcement five times in a row, the gatekeeper finally opened the gate at the supervisor's signal. Then, looking at the group of people who had seemingly been released from their cages, the gatekeeper shook his head like a wise man and sighed.

"You'll know once you suffer the consequences; catching fish isn't so easy."

Then the doorman saw a glamorous, wealthy woman with a high ponytail and a small black bag.

His lips twitched.

This oddball is an exception!

After the wealthy and beautiful woman left, Xie Tianlang led three team members out again.

The doorman: "..."

So what if they're big? I refuse to believe these people can catch fish that big!!

On the third day of taking refuge in the safe zone, the floodwaters outside the stadium had exceeded two meters. The floodwaters not only completely submerged all the vehicles on the roadside, but even the roadside trees were submerged, leaving only their crowns.

Perhaps the puddles can no longer be called puddles; they have probably already flowed into the ocean.

After descending thirty-five steps from the high steps of the stadium, you come into contact with the murky, flowing water. People leaving the stadium begin to enter the water and swim in various ways.

Xie Tianlang stood on the steps, watching Gou Fugui swim nimbly in the water, and squinted his eyes with pleasure.

Looking at his boss's strange and inexplicably sassy smile, Song Sanchuan couldn't help but ask curiously, "Boss, who are you looking at?"

This time, Xie Tianlang didn't ignore him or mock him. Instead, he raised his chin and said, "Look at that long-haired guy over there. The way he swims with a backpack looks just like my Yuanyuan."

Song Sanchuan followed his captain's gaze and saw the long-haired youth swimming freely in the water. He tried his best not to make a comment.

But in the end, it still failed.

"...Boss, I know you really like that sea otter, but wake up and don't think everyone looks like Yuanyuan!"

Even if that sea otter is incredibly intelligent, it couldn't possibly become a spirit, much less a beautiful woman!

This isn't Journey to the West! Nor is it Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio!

Xie Tianlang scoffed and stepped directly into the water.

"The gates of doom have descended."

"You've narrowed your perspective."

Song Sanchuan was speechless for a moment, and after struggling for a while, he finally managed to utter:

"Even if sea otters could become spirits, they couldn't possibly look like that! Captain Xie, give up!"

This time, Xie Tianlang finally paused, as if he had been stabbed.

At this moment, Fugui, the humanoid sea otter with enhanced swimming skills, was already far ahead of the others who had entered the water at the same time, and quickly swam across the street.

Before leaving today, he went to a local store and bought a map of Nanhai City, deciding to explore more distant areas.

Yesterday evening, he only wandered around the two nearby streets and grabbed some food. But he didn't have time to collect other usable supplies and food reserves.

Today he needs to stock up on more supplies, and also look for rubber boats, life jackets, some common medicines, canned food, and various tools.

His bloodline talent skill, "Portable Pocket," is currently at level one, but it can hold three basketballs when its size is adjusted.

The volume of three basketballs, when converted into some high-energy food or medicine, could hold quite a lot.

I just don't know when it will be upgraded...

With that thought in mind, Gou Fugui followed the map to a large shopping mall three streets ahead. It was a five-story mall, and on the first floor was a well-known chain supermarket.

Gou Fugui decided to buy all the necessary items directly from that chain supermarket.

Gou Fugui arrived at the mall quickly. After entering through the mall entrance that had been damaged by the waves, he found that the first floor of the mall was almost completely submerged by seawater, with only a gap of more than half a meter between the seawater and the ceiling.

For ordinary people, a single floor of a supermarket has become an inaccessible and difficult area. But for a wealthy and beautiful woman who can transform herself, this is no problem at all!

Gou Fugui looked around on the water and, finding no one else, began to take off his clothes in the water. Stripping down to only his underwear was his last act of defiance. He stuffed his shirt and pants into his backpack, then took out a large net bag he had prepared beforehand. Finally, he hid the backpack in a half-open locker, and that was it.

He surfaced, took a deep breath, and then dived back down!

With a gentle tap on her glowing left wrist, the naked beauty with long hair instantly shrank, and then... the soft, round sea otter Fugui appeared, rubbing its face with one paw while clutching a net.

Now, we can really get started!

The sea otter swam comfortably and leisurely into the supermarket. Its little head peeked underwater and it saw all sorts of items inside.

Most of the floating items were clothing, vacuum-packed snacks, and lightweight products. Some of the heavier vegetables, fruits, or metal items were dispersed by the current, while quite a few remained firmly in place.

The sea otter, Fugui, swam swiftly, searching for the items he needed and stuffing them into his small pockets and large net.

I'll grab two cans of sealed milk powder, two packs of honey dumplings, a bag of unsoaked toilet paper, and a whole case of soda! I'll stuff canned meat, ham, potato chips, candy, and dried fruit into my pockets. Oh, that long, heavy fruit knife looks really nice! I'll put any knife with sheaths in there too!

Thus, the sea otter enjoyed a blissful experience of underwater shopping freedom.

When he huffed and puffed as he dragged the net, which was at least three times his size, to the surface, his otter face was full of joy.

However, the smile on Otter Fugui's face quickly froze, and he couldn't help but roar out.

"Holy shit!!!"

It's you again?!

Xie the werewolf, who failed to catch fish and was instead chased by a fierce fish: "..."

After silently glancing at the shocked sea otter and the huge pile of potato chips, sausages, and soda that the otter was clutching with its tiny paws, Captain Xie smiled meaningfully.

"Yuanyuan! We meet again. Come here and let Daddy hug you?"

Otter Rich: "..."

Damn it, how come you weren't eaten by a shark?!

Author's Note:

Xie Langren: I saw Yuanyuan, whom I've been longing for, again! She actually likes drinking soda and eating potato chips. Truly unique!

Otter Rich: ...How old are you?! Why hasn't he been eaten by the fish yet?

Sea Fierce Fish: Thanks for the invitation, on my way, the next chapter will be here.
