Chapter 20: Jealousy

"The hair." Li Yao said, "Take all the hair!"

"No, just 40 cents!"

"What's the 40 cents? I don't agree. One dollar a piece! If you want to buy it, buy it. If you don't want to buy it, forget it!" Ning Jia still insisted on the price.

While a few people were complaining in dissatisfaction, she walked up to An Ye and squeezed her hand.

The tacit understanding between best friends is not nonsense. Ning Jia made a gesture and An Ye immediately understood.

She came to the front and shouted, "You guys are so rigid. Do you have to go to her house to sell fish? I have fish to sell too. Come and take a look at my fish!"

"Aren't you a family?"

"Of course not." An Ye instructed Li Xu, "Come on, open the bag and show them the fish."

Those people gathered in front of An Ye and squatted down to look at the fish.

After reading it, he started asking for the price: "What's your price?"

"Eighty cents a piece!"

"It's too expensive! I'll buy one!"

An Ye shook his head: "No, it's too cheap. Fish in the city are only a few cents a pound! This small one of mine weighs more than two pounds, and the big one weighs more than three pounds! I took a huge risk to get it!"

Some people wanted to bargain, so Ning Jia immediately pretended to lose his temper: "Who are you? Why are you selling it so cheap? You are breaking the rules!"

"Hey, if you don't want to buy it, why are you stopping others from selling it? I'm only selling it for 80 cents, so what?"

"You dare!"

"I dare you!"

"Want to fight?" Ning Jia rolled up his sleeves. "Can you use your brain? If you don't lower the price and I don't lower the price, they will have to buy it! You have fish, are you afraid that you can't sell it?"

"I'm happy to do it!" An Ye waved his hand and said loudly, "80 cents a pair. Buy ten and I'll give one away! Hurry up and buy if you want!"

"Okay, go ahead and sell it! I won't sell it! I'll pay you back with all my strength! Bah!" Ning Jia spat fiercely on the ground, turned his head and ignored him.

When the buyers saw this, they all started to speak up: "Buy, buy, buy! We'll buy!"

An Ye raised the corner of his mouth and kicked Li Xu: "What are you standing there for? Count the fish and collect the money!"

Li Xu was immediately happy: "Oh!"

An Ye's bag was emptied quickly. He sold ten bags and got one free. In the end, he sold a total of thirty yuan and forty cents.

Seeing that An Ye had sold all her fish, Ning Jia pretended to be panicked and said quickly: "I'll sell too, I'll sell too! I'll risk my life, I'll sell at the same price as hers! She'll give away one fish for every ten she sells, I'll give away three for every twenty I sell!"

"Why didn't you sell it earlier? Come on, we want them all!"

The two bags of fish were sold out in an instant, and the total profit was seventy yuan!

Brothers Li Yao and Li Xu were both stunned. They had been to the black market before, but they had never made so much money.

If I sell this fish to them, I can probably only make half the money.

"Wife, you are so awesome." Li Xu was so happy that he hugged An Ye's face and kissed her without caring that his brothers were still around.

Li Yao turned his face away when he saw this.

It's too shameful to watch!

Ning Jia curved his lips and divided the money into two parts: "Brother Li, An Ye, this money is half for each family! No one can mention this matter after it is revealed!"

An Ye took the money and snorted, "Got it. If we don't tell you, you can't tell either! Whoever tells you is a dog!"

"Okay! Whoever says that will get sores on the soles of his feet and pus in his eyes!" Ning Jia also said immediately afterwards.

"Yes, whoever said that would exterminate his descendants..."

Li Xu heard his wife talking more and more outrageously, and hurriedly stopped her: "Okay, okay, I'm scared of you! Stop talking about Xia Xuan, or our ancestors will crawl out of their graves."

An Ye thought: I am just guarding against you two brothers. Now I don't have to worry about you telling the truth.

After we sold the items and divided the money, it was already three or four in the morning.

Li Yao told everyone that it was time to leave, otherwise they would be easily discovered.

"Wait a minute." Just as they were about to leave, a young man called out to them.

Li Yao took a look at the young man. He was tall and thin, with a handsome face, fine features, and a somewhat gentle and refined aura.

"You looking for me?" he asked.

"No." The young man smiled at him and pointed at Ning Jia, "I'm looking for her."

"Looking for me?" Ning Jia was surprised. "Do we know each other?"

From her memory, it seemed that this man had never existed.

"I didn't know him before, but now we can get to know each other." The young man stretched out his hand and said, "You know, I know you well."

Ning Jia shook his hand naturally and introduced herself: "Ning Jia, nice to meet you. Excuse me, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Chu Songbai nodded: "Can I have a word with you for a moment?"

"T."

Ning Jia followed Chu Songbai and walked a few steps to the side, then stopped.

Chu Songbai spoke first and got straight to the point: "You guys worked very well together just now, and the fish sold well."

Ning Jia knew he had seen through her, but she refused to admit it: "What do you mean by cooperation? I don't understand."

Chu Songbai smiled and said, "I have been observing you for a while and found that you have a good business sense."

"You're too kind. What do I, a peasant woman, know? Mr. Chu, if you have something to say, just say it." She didn't have time to waste with him.

"I want to make a deal with you," Chu Songbai said. "I'll take all the remaining fish you have. I'll take as many as you have. Just name your price!"

Ning Jia was overjoyed when he heard this.

This means that next time, they can deliver the fish directly after catching them, without having to waste time bargaining with others.

"Seventy cents a piece!" Ning Jia said.

"This price is not sincere enough." Chu Songbai said with a smile, "Lower the price a little more!"

Ning Jia gritted his teeth and stamped his feet: "How about this, I'll sell it to you for one dollar each, and I'll charge you half the price for the second one."

Chu Songbai laughed out loud: "You are such a joker, isn't it still 70 cents a piece? I am not well educated, don't lie to me!"

Ning Jia grinned: "70 cents! It can't be any cheaper! You can only buy so many fish from me! And I will deliver it to you within two days!"

"Yes." Chu Songbai agreed readily.

"Then the day after tomorrow night, I'll deliver the goods here again."

Ning Jia nodded in agreement and made a request: "You have to pay a deposit."

"Okay." Chu Songbai agreed. He touched his trouser pocket and found that there was not much money in it. He took out a pen from his jacket pocket and said, "Here, take a look at it and see if it counts as a deposit."

Ning Jia took a look and saw, wow, a Parker pen, so expensive!

"Okay." She took it. "When the time comes, you pay the money and I'll return the pen to you."

"make a deal."

When the two people were talking about business, Li Yao stood not far away, trying to listen hard, but he couldn't hear clearly what they were saying.

However, the cheerful look on Ning Jia's face and the smile in her lively eyes when she was talking to the man made him feel inexplicably upset and a little uncomfortable.

"What is your wife talking about with a strange man? She looks so happy? I've never seen her so happy in front of you!" Li Xu couldn't help but say.

Li Yao felt even more irritated, and his heart felt as if he was filled with jealousy and had a sour feeling.

He saw Ning Jia smiling like a flower, and didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave. In fact, he couldn't help it, so he clenched his fists and walked towards the two of them.
