Chapter 19 Who Moved Out
The two sat down and chatted for a while before going into the screening room and randomly picking a movie. The synopsis looked pretty good, but as soon as the movie started, Lin Yi'an knew it wasn't her type. Seeing that he was watching intently, she didn't suggest changing the movie and continued watching.
In the past two years, Zhou Mingshi has rarely watched movies. When he has free time, she likes to watch them, so he comfortably accompanies her and can also get into the movies.
Normally, Lin Yi'an goes to bed at 10 p.m., but today, just after 9 p.m., she started feeling sleepy. Music can lull her to sleep, and some movies can too. Before she was even halfway through, she couldn't stay awake any longer.
Zhou Mingshi turned his head to look at her yawning: "Sleepy?"
Lin Yi'an: "Mm."
Zhou Mingshi: "Go and rest, I should go back."
Lin Yi'an stood up: "Aren't you going to watch it?"
She felt that going to the movies on a date was not a good suggestion, unless the movie was good, of course.
Zhou Mingshi chuckled softly, "I'm getting sleepy too."
This movie has a good hypnotic effect.
Lin Yi'an laughed along, "Looks like we didn't choose the right movie tonight."
Zhou Mingshi: "Hmm."
The two walked out together. Assistant Chen was talking to Ye Lingzhi in the living room. When he saw them come out, he quickly stood up.
Lin Yi'an saw him off at the door, and Zhou Mingshi turned around and said, "No need to see me off, go back and rest."
After the two left, Lin Yi'an went back to her room to wash up and was about to go to bed when she received a call from her second sister, Lin Jingyun.
Lin Jingyun: "An'an, you're still awake, aren't you?"
Lin Yi'an: "I was just about to go to sleep. When are you coming back?"
Lin Jingyun: "I'll come back in a few days. Have you checked your WeChat Moments?"
Lin Yi'an almost never checks her WeChat Moments: "No."
“Look at Wang Xiujun’s posts on WeChat Moments, I’m so angry I could laugh,” Lin Jingyun said.
Lin Yi'an: "What did she post?"
Lin Jingyun: "What do you mean by cold-heartedness? Even blood relatives are useless. When you encounter trouble and ask for help, they will make all sorts of excuses and be sarcastic. It's better not to have such relatives. Who is she implying?"
Lin Yi-an: "She wanted to open a beauty salon and came to my mother to ask her for money to invest, but my mother did not agree."
Lin Jingyun scoffed: "Open a beauty salon? How could she even think of that? I wouldn't dare to open one, and she actually wants to open one? She just watches others make money."
The two chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.
She had just hung up the phone when she saw someone tag her in the family group chat. She clicked on it and found it was the Wang family group chat, which was created by her uncle.
Wang Xiujun sent a message in the group chat, which was a screenshot of her WeChat Moments. Was she afraid they wouldn't see her Moments, so she specifically sent it to the group chat and tagged everyone? What was she trying to do?
Soon, a message came in from her eldest sister, Lin Manqing.
"The Lin family has spent a lot of money on you over the years. Even a dog would be better off than you. At least a dog knows how to protect its owner, but all you know how to do is bite people."
Next, her older brother sent it.
"Since you feel your relatives are indifferent, and that it's better to have no relatives like us, I don't mind being even more indifferent. When will you repay the money, Uncle?"
Her mother then sent a message as well.
“A little kindness is appreciated, but too much kindness breeds resentment. I didn’t help you once, and you call me a villain. I was thinking of giving An’an some pocket money this month because you don’t have a job, but now it seems I was too soft-hearted. I’ve done my best as an aunt.”
After reading the message, I realized her mother had already left the group.
It seems her mother was truly heartbroken; shortly after, her father, her older sister, and her older brother all left the group chat.
Lin Yi'an left a message saying, "It's not asking relatives for help, it's asking directly, right? Now it seems that being an ingrate is the right thing to do." and then left the group.
Wang Yuehua was indeed furious, and was complaining to Lin Weiqi in the room: "How can there be such an ungrateful child?"
Lin Weiqi: "Taihua called me tonight, and when I refused to help them, they got anxious."
Wang Yuehua was also heartbroken: "I won't help them, absolutely not. I won't have anything to do with them anymore."
When Wang Taihua's family saw that they had all left the group chat, they were dumbfounded. They then turned around and scolded Wang Xiujun: "What nonsense were you spouting in the group chat?"
Wang Xiujun pursed her lips and remained silent. She hadn't expected her aunt to be so heartless, saying she wouldn't care about her anymore and even leaving their family group chat.
My cousin's wife, Zhang Qing, sighed, "It seems we've really offended my aunt's family this time."
The sister-in-law is too impulsive. She thinks that because her aunt is good to her, no matter how much she makes a fuss, her aunt will not really get angry with her. But she doesn't realize that everyone has a temper, and if pushed too far, they will turn on each other.
Wang Taihua hadn't expected his sister's family to be so resolute this time, and he was extremely annoyed.
...
When Zhou Mingyuan returned home from his date, he saw his parents sitting in the living room. After finding a place to sit down, he casually asked, "Why didn't Second Brother come to the old house after he came back?"
"Your second brother is back from Changping?" Zhou Kanghui only realized his second son had returned from Changping when he heard his words.
Judging from his father's expression, he knew that his second brother hadn't told him about his affairs. He breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt a sense of frustration. His second brother didn't take him seriously. If it were any of his other siblings, they would definitely tell their parents if they saw him taking a girl on a date.
"I ran into him today on a date with Miss Lin."
Zhou Kanghui snorted: "He has time to go on dates, but no time to come home. He doesn't even tell me when he comes back. Does he even respect me as his father?"
Zhou Mingyuan remained silent.
When Zhou Mingshi got home, he went into the bathroom to take a shower. After he came out, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw that it was his father calling. He paused for a moment and then answered, "What is it?"
Zhou Kanghui: "You're back? Why didn't you go back to the old house? If Mingyuan hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known you went back to the capital."
Zhou Mingshi: "Why go back when Grandpa and Grandma aren't home?"
Zhou Kanghui: "Your grandparents aren't home, so you're not coming back to see your father?"
Zhou Mingshi: "Do you still need children to take care of you?"
Zhou Kanghui: "You... even if you don't lack anything, I'm still your father."
Zhou Mingshi: "Since he is my father, I should do what a father should do."
Zhou Kanghui, suppressing his anger, asked, "What do you mean?"
Zhou Mingshi: "Next year, Ms. Lin and I will get married. As her father, where do you think we should have our wedding room?"
Without a second thought, Zhou Kanghui replied, "Of course it's the old house. You don't mean you want to move out after we get married, do you?"
Zhou Mingshi: "Alright, then you can move out."
Zhou Kanghui's chest started hurting again: "What do you mean? You want me to move out?"
Zhou Mingshi: "After all, the old house will be transferred to my name after my marriage. Do you think it's appropriate for you to continue living there with your wife and children?"
Zhou Kanghui suddenly remembered this and said somewhat awkwardly, "I've lived here my whole life. You can't just kick me out after you get married, can you?"
Zhou Mingshi: "You can stay, but your wife and children have to move out. You decide what to do."
He hung up the phone after he finished speaking.
Hearing the dial tone, Zhou Kanghui was so angry he wanted to smash his phone. What an unfilial son!
