Chapter 2 Family
Wang Yuehua patted her on the shoulder: "You can hang out with your girlfriends. Yi'an and Jingyun have their own plans."
Yi'an has a quiet and gentle personality and gets along well with her family. However, her maternal family doesn't get along well with their youngest daughter, partly because she has spoiled her family's appetite over the years.
Wang Xiujun lowered her head, pursed her lips and remained silent. Ever since Lin Yi'an was found, her status in her aunt's heart had plummeted. Her aunt only had eyes for Lin Yi'an, and even her serious older cousins doted on Lin Yi'an.
She knew that Lin Yi'an was her aunt's biological daughter and her older cousin's younger sister. It was understandable that they were worried about her after she had finally found her. But she had been with them for so many years, and their attitude towards her had changed so much. Why didn't they consider her feelings at all?
Lin Yi'an looked at her father and mother: "Dad, Mom, Dr. Li is back from her studies. She's seeing patients at the TCM clinic. Tomorrow I'm planning to go back to Changping to spend time with you and Grandma there."
Before Wang Yuehua could speak, Wang Xiujun couldn't wait to say, "Third sister, you finally get a break, why don't you think about spending time with your aunt and uncle, instead you keep thinking about your adoptive parents over there? Aren't you afraid of upsetting your aunt?"
Lin Yi'an looked up at her coldly: "My parents over there picked me up from the snow and raised me with all their heart and soul. If I go back to be with them, my parents will not only not be sad, but they will be gratified. Their daughter is not an ungrateful person."
"Or is it that in your heart, your aunt and uncle are ungrateful wretches? Others took in their daughter and raised her, but they treat them like enemies and won't allow their daughter to go back to be with her adoptive parents? They only care about themselves?"
Wang Xiujun's face flushed instantly. She didn't dare look up at her aunt and uncle's expressions, and hurriedly explained, "I...I didn't mean that. I...I just felt sorry for my aunt and uncle..."
Wang Yuehua interrupted her: "Alright, if you really care about me and your uncle, then talk less. Stop trying to compete with your third sister all day long. Your constant chatter is giving me a headache."
It's impossible for Wang Yuehua not to be jealous that Yi'an became closer to her adoptive parents after returning home, but she is rational and clearly understands what her adoptive parents sacrificed to raise her.
Not to mention, Yi'an is the only child there, and she can't possibly abandon them.
If Yi'an really finds her biological parents and abandons her adoptive parents, they will feel uneasy.
Therefore, she not only couldn't show her bitterness, but also had to encourage Yi'an to be good to her adoptive parents and take care of them.
The eldest brother, Lin Su, looked up and said, "Xiujun has already graduated from university. Your aunt has mentioned you several times, saying that you don't live at home and always stay at our house. When they miss you, they can't find you. Find some time to move back home. You should spend more time with your uncle and aunt."
Lin Manqing leaned back on the sofa: "Let's not look for a time. Tomorrow is an auspicious day. Let's move tomorrow. Uncle has made a lot of money in the past few years, and the family has moved to a bigger house. There's enough room."
Wang Xiujun was really anxious now. Her older cousins rarely spoke up, but once they did, her aunt and uncle would usually give in to their wishes. She didn't want to move back home. Her brother was married and had a nephew, and her parents only cared about her brother, sister-in-law, and nephew.
What's more, her aunt gives her pocket money every month while she's at her aunt's house. If she moves back home, her aunt definitely won't give her any more pocket money, and her parents don't care about her. Just thinking about all this makes her feel like her days are bleak and hopeless...
She quickly looked at Wang Yuehua and said, "Auntie, my brother got married and had a baby. The house is very crowded. I'll stay here for a while longer. Once I find a job, I'll definitely move out. I can stay here and spend more time with you all."
She wanted to stay as long as possible; she really didn't want to move back home. If she had known Lin Yi'an would react so strongly, she wouldn't have said anything to please her aunt and uncle.
Wang Yuehua looked at her eldest son and eldest daughter. Lin Su said expressionlessly, "You just said that An'an should stay at home with her parents. You are the daughter of your uncle and aunt, and they also need their daughter's company. Your aunt and uncle have three children, so they don't lack children's company."
Wang Yuehua said, "Your older brother is right. You can't always stay here with me. You should go home and spend time with your parents. They often tell me they miss you. Don't break their hearts and make them think that you only think about your aunt all day long, or that you're trying to take their daughter away from them."
Even before An'an was found, she still had Manqing. She really wouldn't compete with her brother for her daughter. However, Xiujun is her niece, so she only dotes on her a little more. She can't compare to her own daughter.
Before Wang Xiujun could speak, Wang Yuehua interrupted her, saying, "Alright, that's enough. Let's leave it at that."
Seeing her aunt say this, Wang Xiujun didn't want to move, but there was nothing she could do.
Lin Jingyun sat to the side, gloating. She had long disliked Wang Xiujun. Because her aunt was her aunt, Wang Xiujun acted like the master of the Lin family, behaving more like the three daughters of the Lin family and the daughter of the Lin family. If it weren't for her aunt's sake, her words would have been even harsher.
Now, we're finally moving out.
After dinner, Wang Yuehua went into her youngest daughter's room. Lin Yi'an was leaning against the headboard reading a book. When she saw Wang Yuehua come in, she looked up from her book and smiled, "Mom!"
Wang Yuehua sat down next to her and asked, "I asked Wang Ma to pack some things for your parents and grandma to take back. When you get back, don't forget to tell your parents and grandma that the company is quite busy these days and we can't go back with you. We'll go back to visit them with your dad, your older brother and sister during the National Day holiday."
Lin Yi'an smiled and snuggled closer to her mother's arms: "I will talk to them, Mom. They are my most beloved parents, and you are also my most beloved parents and family. You are all my relatives, and I love you all the same."
Wang Yuehua smiled and stroked her daughter's soft black hair, feeling a warmth in her heart. She said, "Mom knows. I didn't take Xiujun's words to heart. How could I not know what kind of person my daughter is?"
They were already very content that their youngest daughter was willing to be close to them, open her heart to them, and even coax them. As for whether she was the one they loved the most, that didn't matter. All they needed to know was that this was the daughter they had finally found, and that they should cherish her.
Lin Yi'an hummed in agreement.
The mother and daughter talked for a while in the room. Wang Yuehua said, "Get some rest. We have to travel tomorrow."
Lin Yi'an: "Okay."
After Wang Yuehua left, Lin Manqing came in. Lin Yi'an called out, "Sister!"
Lin Manqing got into bed and leaned against it with her sister. She looked at her and tentatively asked, "Have you been in contact with Zhou Mingshi lately?"
Lin Yi'an: "No, he's busy, so it's not good to disturb him."
Upon hearing this, Lin Manqing knew that neither of them had contacted the other. She sneered inwardly, but smiled and said, "Since you got engaged, his grandfather has been gradually handing over the Zhou Group to him. He's quite busy, so it's really not good to bother him."
Lin Yi'an nodded in agreement.
Looking at her obedient younger sister, Lin Manqing became increasingly dissatisfied with Zhou Mingshi. How could a man who only cared about his work be worthy of her sister?
Lin Yi'an looked up and saw her sister frowning. She said, "Sister, don't worry. I don't object to an arranged marriage, nor do I object to Zhou Mingshi. He is handsome, has a refined demeanor, and doesn't make people feel annoyed by his words and actions. I admire him quite a bit, and we will get along very well."
Lin Manqing watched as her younger sister spoke of admiration, yet her eyes remained calm and undisturbed, devoid of the shyness a girl would show when talking about her fiancé. She suddenly smiled and said, "I understand, sister."
After saying that, she got out of bed and put on her shoes. Before leaving, she said, "I prepared some things for Uncle, Aunt, and Grandma Lin. Don't forget to take them with you tomorrow."
Lin Yi'an smiled and said, "I understand."
