Chapter 62
In the shadows of night, a gloomy man covered Wen Shu's mouth with one hand and twisted her arm with the other, disappearing from the spot. He led Wen Shu into an unguarded house and turned back to lock the door.
"She's definitely a young lady raised by officials; look at her delicate skin..."
"Get away! Don't touch me!"
Wen Shu bit her lower lip hard, her tongue licking the sticky blood, and with a burst of strength, she shoved the man who was about to commit the crime away.
The opportunity was fleeting, and Wen Shu immediately staggered to open the door, but the wooden door made a loud noise and did not budge.
Oh no!
The door was locked, and the door was too high for her to reach!
Before Wen Shu could come up with a solution, the thin man had already gotten up and pounced on her without saying a word.
Wen Shu instinctively grabbed a shard of porcelain from a nearby high table and threw it hard.
"Bang!"
With a loud crash, the blue and white porcelain vase shattered on the ground, leaving fragments scattered everywhere.
The gaunt man was struck on the forehead by a vase, blood gushing from his temple. He touched the blood on his eyebrow in disbelief, his eyes widening in shock as he roared in fury, "You little bitch! How dare you hit me?!"
"Help! Someone help! Someone help!!"
A subconscious survival instinct made Wen Shu scream at the top of her lungs. The next instant, the man pounced on her, his iron-like hands tightly gripping her neck.
A torrent of foul language poured from her mouth: "What are you pretending to be, a virtuous and loyal woman?! Do you think the Wen and Qi families will come to your rescue? Rather than going out and being scorned by thousands, you'd better come with me and live a life of luxury!"
The disparity in strength between the man and woman was immense; the gloomy man gripped Wen Shu's neck tightly, as if he wanted to strangle her to death.
"Cough! Cough!" Wen Shu's face turned bluish-purple, a flash of suffocating white appearing in her eyes. Her nails dug tightly into the man's flesh as she forced out a sound from her throat, "You're wrong... The Wen family won't let you go... Someone will avenge me..."
The gloomy man's expression suddenly changed.
“Now that the deal is done, I will naturally take Miss Wen with me.” As soon as Pei Lingjun finished speaking, whispers arose around him, seemingly expressing dissatisfaction. Not wanting to delay any longer, the young man said coldly, “Otherwise, it will be difficult to explain to Wen Tao.”
Tu Wen waved his hand and ordered his men, "Bring the Wen family girl here."
Where no one was watching, Pei Lingjun clenched his fist. An hour had passed since he came up the mountain.
The longer the delay, the more dangerous it will be for Wen Shu.
"Something terrible has happened!" the bandit leader cried out in alarm, "Boss! The Wen family girl is missing!"
"What did you say?" Pei Lingjun's brows twitched violently, his expression changing drastically. Before anyone could react, he immediately ordered, "Everyone, search immediately! From the mountaintop to the foot of the mountain, don't miss a single corner!"
The bandits scattered, and Pei Lingjun strode out with a displeased expression. He saw the night wind howling, and the entire Longhu Mountain was covered with houses and residences of all sizes, which were both messy and eerie.
Where is Wen Shu?
In a secluded spot with the door tightly shut, Wen Shu reached for the broken porcelain shards on the ground. Seizing the moment when the man was distracted, the shards instantly sliced through the back of his neck.
Blood splattered down instantly, and the man's heart-wrenching screams rang out at the same time.
The gloomy man was covered in blood. He no longer cared about love between men and women. Now he wanted Wen Shu dead!
The man went berserk, his fist slamming down fiercely, aimed straight at Wen Shu's face.
The next moment, the door slammed shut with a loud crash, and the two wooden doors split open.
The gloomy man turned around in a panic, only managing to catch a glimpse of a blue hem of clothing out of the corner of his eye. Suddenly, a surge of force rushed to his heart and lungs, sending him flying through the air and crashing into the long table with a loud bang.
Wen Shu was in a daze, and in her half-dreaming and half-awake state, she seemed to hear someone talking to her.
