Chapter 63

Chapter 63

"Wen Shu, don't sleep, wake up..."

The familiar, pleasant scent of pine enveloped her. Her cut from the porcelain shards was still bleeding. Wen Shu frowned, let out a soft groan, and uttered three barely audible words: "Pei Lingjun..."

At this moment, Pei Lingjun picked up Wen Shu, frowned as he looked at her opening and closing lips, and whispered in her ear, "What did you say?"

The words drifted into the air, and no one responded.

Tu Wen, who had finally arrived, suddenly opened his eyes wide as soon as he entered the room. He saw a half-dead man lying in the corner of the room, who was none other than the strategist of Longhu Village.

Looking again at the dying Wen family girl being held in Pei Lingjun's arms, he immediately understood everything.

Just as Tu Wen was about to speak, someone came running up from behind, yelling and panting, "Boss! Something terrible has happened!"

Tu Wen's brow twitched, and he turned around to scold, "What is it now?"

"A young man came up with a sword and has injured several of our brothers in a short time. He's yelling that we hand over Fourth Sister!"

Tu Wen gave Pei Lingjun a deep look, then immediately led his men out.

Inside the house, the surging crowd had receded, leaving only three people.

The man curled up on the ground had blood all over the back of his neck. He had just been kicked away by Pei Lingjun and was now vomiting blood.

"How dare you touch her?"

The young man's detached tone contained no questioning, only statements.

"No, I didn't! You can't kill me...you can't! I'm the strategist of Dragon Tiger Stronghold. If you want to do business, you can't kill me!" the gloomy man cried out in terror, shuffling backward.

The young man's cold tone was devoid of any emotion. After settling Wen Shu in, he approached step by step amidst the gloomy man's terrified gaze, and suddenly a cold smile crept onto his lips.

"Is that so? Then you can die now."

"Where is my older sister?!"

The young man exuded murderous intent, his face stained with blood of unknown origin, which appeared extremely cold and fierce in the dim moonlight.

Someone rushed forward, trying to stop the young boy, but before they could get close, their right arm was suddenly slashed, and blood gushed out, flying in a semi-circular arc in mid-air.

"Ah!" A terrified scream rang out, and the long sword fell to the ground with a thud. The man clutched his wound and staggered back, staring in horror at the reckless young man.

Wenji fought his way up the mountain, his eyes bloodshot, like a wild beast on the verge of death, roaring and howling in pain.

Today, Longhu Village is in unprecedented turmoil. Not only has the arrival of the Xiaolong Guard arrived, but also the illegitimate son of the Wen family, while Wen Tao, the prefect of Anyang Prefecture, has yet to show his face.

Wenji raised his sword, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, and asked, word by word, "Where is my elder sister?!"

"Boss, he's gone mad!" The young bandit trembled as he backed away, but his sharp eyes suddenly caught sight of the young man in blue behind him. He immediately lit up as if he had seen a living Buddha, and was just short of welcoming him with gongs and drums.

"They're here! They're here!"

The crowd, as if seeing a savior, quickly made way for her, eager to get rid of the Fourth Mistress of the Wen family immediately. As the saying goes, it's easy to invite a god but hard to send him away; their Dragon Tiger Village had truly had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to have invited such a Buddha as the Fourth Mistress of the Wen family.

"Sister?" Wenji asked anxiously when he saw the unconscious Wen Shu and then glanced at the cold-faced Pei Lingjun. "What happened to my sister? What's wrong with her?!"

Pei Lingjun hadn't expected Wenji to storm into Longhu Village alone. He couldn't let Wenji discover anything amiss, so he immediately gave Tu Wen a wink and then handed Wen Shu over to Wenji, saying, "She's fine. She just fainted from being too frightened."

The bandits of Longhu Village seemed to snap out of their daze and surrounded the three of them.

Tu Wen snorted coldly, his mustache twitching, and threatened, "Do you think Dragon Tiger Stronghold is a place you can come and go as you please?! You've hurt my brothers, this isn't over yet!"

Wenji's veins bulged as he gripped the sword hilt, his eyes fierce as he stared at the approaching bandits, gritting his teeth and snarling, "Then come onβ€”"
