Chapter 77

Chapter 77

"Young Master Qi, didn't you say you were going to bring our Qiu'er into your household? Why are you marrying someone else?"

With a loud bang, like a thunderclap from a clear sky, those nearby heard it clearly and pointed and whispered among themselves as they looked at Qi Chengxuan.

A servant from the Qi household saw this and quickly stepped forward, "Hey—what are you doing?! What nonsense are you talking about? Does our young master know you?!"

"Get out of here! Get out of here!"

"Who is this...?"

The servant turned around and bumped into Qi Chengxuan's deathly pale face. He was immediately startled. "Young master, are you alright?"

The commotion outside never stopped, and Wen Shu felt uneasy sitting in the bridal sedan chair, but dared not move.

There was another commotion outside, accompanied by the cries of men and women.

"Our Qiu'er has been with you for a long time! Everyone, look at this! It's a marriage certificate with the official seal! How could it be fake?!" A loud female voice rang out, drawing everyone's attention.

The marriage certificate clearly bore the official seal of the government!

The young man from the Qi family is clearly already married!

Everyone gasped in shock. Guests who had been waiting inside the Qi residence came upon hearing the commotion, and thus witnessed the farce unfold.

"Qi Chengxuan deceived the Wen family first, so let this marriage not go through!"

In the midst of the chaos, Wen Shu heard a familiar voice, and then the curtain of the bridal sedan chair was lifted, and a lean man entered against the light, almost blinding Wen Shu.

Pei Lingjun raised the corners of his lips, looked down at her, and put on a very regretful expression, "Cousin A-Shu, now that Qi Chengxuan's matter is known to the whole world, this marriage is off!"

Seeing that someone was trying to abduct the bride, the servants of the Qi family, the onlookers, the guests at the banquet, and Pei Lingjun's men were thrown into chaos.

Ignoring the fact that his folding fan had been broken in the crush, Zhu Zijin blocked several servants with his body and yelled, "Uncle—are you sure you can handle this?! Hurry up! I can't hold on much longer!"

Cui Pei, panting heavily, cleverly numbned the calf muscles of several servants with his taps. He saw that the surrounding area was bustling with noise and chaos.

"Hang in there a little longer!"

The groom had long since been pushed to some unknown place, his bright red hat trampled to pieces by the crowd.

Inside the bridal sedan chair, which separated them from each other, Wen Shu looked at Pei Lingjun in surprise. Just as she was about to speak, Pei Lingjun suddenly bent down and hugged her with one hand.

"Oh no! Someone has hijacked the bridal sedan chair! The bride has been kidnapped!"

Someone in the crowd shouted, and like a stone thrown into still water, the clamor of voices suddenly rose to a new high.

"What are you doing?! Put me down!"

Wen Shu was held in his arms, and she felt the wind rushing past her ears as the noisy crowd in front of the Qi family mansion gradually disappeared.

After a while, they finally settled in a courtyard. Wen Shu noticed that the layout of the courtyard was very familiar; it was a medicine shop.

Why did he bring her to the pharmacy?

"Ah Shu, do you know what I dreamed about last night?" Pei Lingjun kicked open the door, settled her on the small couch, and stared intently at her.

"Ah Shu, you should have been my wife."

Wen Shu's eyes widened suddenly. "You...what did you say?"

“I said, you were meant to be my wife.” The man’s eyes were deep as he leaned closer. “That’s not a dream, it’s real.”

The hand beneath the bright red embroidered mandarin duck wedding robe clenched slightly, then was easily gathered into the man's palm.

His gaze was so sharp that Wen Shu didn't even want to ask him if he had regained his memories; she only had one thought in her mind.

Run!

Wen Shu shook her head, her lips trembling. "I don't know what you're talking about?"

Pei Lingjun tilted his head, seemingly puzzled, "Don't know? Then why have you been avoiding me time and time again? A-Shu?"

The red robes overlapped with a scene in his mind, and Pei Lingjun smiled silently. He lifted her chin with one hand, bent down, and kissed her lips.
