Junior High School

Junior High School

A new group had splintered from the lunch quartet. Inujuki Tsuchiya had no interest in even opening his lunchbox. He leaned back against his seat, his eyes fixed on the still ceiling fan, his mind wandering to who knows where.

Momoko Sakurai picked up a piece of sausage with chopsticks, chewed it, glanced at the dog roll, then picked up a piece of tamagoyaki, chewed it, and glanced at the dog roll.

I tried really hard to hold back the urge to complain, but when my mouth was empty I couldn't help but blurt out:

"If you're so reluctant to leave, why not just go with me? Hinata won't refuse, right?"

Because Hinata Aoi agreed to tutor Kageyama until the entrance exam, for convenience, the lunch break was divided into teaching time, so there are only three people left in the lunch team.

Isn't it normal for there to be only two people left? Sakurai didn't understand why Gojuan didn't follow them, but instead stayed here, distracted and not wanting to eat or drink.

The key point is that with the existence of Gojuan, a flickering light bulb, neither she nor Tsu Miki can live peacefully in their own world.

It’s really hard not to care about Inumaki Ji in this state!

Upon hearing this, Tsu Miki put down her chopsticks and waited for Goujuan's reply.

She didn't agree with Sakurai's direct question, but she really wanted to know the reason.

"I wanted to wait until you guys finished eating before consulting with you."

Inumaki Satoru, whose daydreaming was interrupted by Sakurai, typed out this sentence a little embarrassedly.

He studied the conversation with Hinata Aoi thousands of times but still couldn't understand it.

Seeing that Hinata Aoi was becoming more and more depressed recently, he became depressed and crazy again after taking on the task of tutoring Kageyama, causing his CPU to almost burn out from thinking.

At this rate, he might not be able to understand Hinata Aoi until he graduates from middle school. By the time he does, the daylily will probably have become an unearthed cultural relic.

"So you compiled Hinata's impressions of the drama into a transcript and studied it every day like reading comprehension?" Sakurai was so surprised that his tone changed several times. It was only after Tsumiki pulled his sleeve several times that he remembered to control the volume.

The deliberately lowered voice did not hinder the display of shock:

"And so, from the end of last year's school festival until now, almost entering the second year of junior high?!"

What Goujuan did sounded even more delicious than lunch, so Sakurai completely abandoned his lunch box, crossed his arms on the desk, and looked at Goujuan with a gossipy look on his face, his eyes full of "What else?"

"Hinata's been in a really bad state lately. I think there must be some connection."

Of course, no matter how many Dog Rolls of Thorns there are, they can't tell the whole story, or they won't ask them to help them analyze it.

"Huh?" Sakurai asked in confusion.

"Hinata, are you in a bad state lately?" Sakurai said this to Tsumiki.

The confused expression showed that Tsu Miki did not notice anything unusual about Hinata Aoi, but they all believed in Inumaki Satoru's judgment.

Tsumiki hasn't picked up her chopsticks since the three of them started chatting. Now, looking at the one-third of lunch left, she doesn't know whether she should eat it or not.

In the end, she closed her lunch box and focused on the discussion:

"Can you show us the transcript?"

Seeing Goumaki silently shifting his gaze to the side, Tsumiki knew that this was not allowed.

So how do we analyze this?

Sakurai wanted to ask for more details, but couldn't contain himself and immediately interrupted, speaking directly:

"How should I put it? Copying down people's words and studying them word for word, paying attention to their behavior and expressions every day, and then when something is different from usual, you sit here alone and wonder why...Isn't what you're doing a little perverted, Gojuan?"

A long and difficult sentence made the other two stunned.

Goujuan blinked his clear eyes, and in a daze, he pointed his index finger at himself, as if to say, "Is that so?"

Shocked, Tsu Miki wanted to stop Sakurai from speaking without restraint, but was interrupted again and again by Sakurai's blunt remarks one after another. She raised her hands and gradually became stiff in her seat, forgetting to act.

"Since you've come to us to ask, and we're all friends, I won't hide it." The atmosphere had become like this, so Sakurai immediately added a disclaimer.

"Putting aside the 'pervert' thing, do you know why Hinata doesn't really make friends with others?"

"Last semester, her behavior was more obvious, and her attitude towards regular classmates and those in the club was quite different. Do you know why?"

Sakurai has been puzzled by this for a long time.

In her eyes, especially through her observations during the training period, Hinata Aoi clearly got along very well with her peers and seniors in the volleyball club, and was even more friendly towards high school seniors who she was not familiar with at all than to her classmates.

Isn't that strange?

"Inujuan also said that Hinata's recent poor condition should be due to his feelings after watching the play."

"Wow, it really is like a mystery novel~" Sakurai said to himself, waving his fingers in the air, and his interest grew higher and higher as he spoke.

"I haven't noticed that Hinata's been in a bad state recently, but since it can be connected to the drama, I think it can also be connected to her 'not wanting to make friends'. Because she gets along better with her classmates this semester than last semester. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but Hinata is slowly changing."

"So, Goujuan, if you know the reason, please share it with us."

"I guess something went wrong in this area, which is why Hinata's condition is in trouble," Sakurai said firmly.

Apart from this aspect, she couldn't deduce anything else.

At the beginning of the school year, because of Hinata Aoi's aloof personality, she always had a not-so-good impression of Hinata Aoi.

It was during the volleyball club training that they had further contact for various reasons, and developed into a relationship where they can have lunch together.

From then on, she felt that Hinata Aoi was very awkward, as if "it's not that she doesn't want to make friends, but that she can't make friends."

Sakurai doesn't think he can be considered a friend of Hinata Aoi, only half a friend at best. Goju could be considered one, or maybe 0.9...it seems difficult for anyone to be "1".

Even if she was meddling, what she said might have been something Goujuan already knew. She could see that her bestie didn't want her to say too much, but she still said it.

They were all very nice people, a thousand times better than the scum she had met before.

If we keep going on with this problem, we will become strangers after graduation, so we might as well take a gamble and try to untie the knot that Hinata Aoi tied somewhere.

After the one-sided output ended, the three of them suddenly fell into a strange silence.

Sakurai stared at Goujuan, waiting for his answer, but Goujuan briefly turned away and looked at Tsumeki for a second, then looked away guiltily.

Tsumiki seems to be unaware of Hinata Aoi's childhood.

He knew, but he couldn't tell Hinata Aoi's privacy to Tsu Miki, and even less to Sakurai Momoko, who had no idea the curse world existed.

He said that he had studied for a long time but got nothing out of it, but in fact it was because he always avoided making associations with Aoi's past experiences.

It's not that he didn't notice the question Sakurai raised, but he just wanted to separate Hinata Aoi's past and analyze it again.

Even if he couldn't find the answer anywhere and no path worked, he persisted in doing so.

At first I thought it wouldn’t matter since it happened so long ago.

Later, because it had been so long since the incident, if there really was a connection, what could he do?

...There's nothing I can do.

He had only known Hinata Aoi for less than two years, so how could he dare to go so far as to dig deep into the ground? If the girl hadn't let it slip, Gojo Satoru and the others would have continued to treat her as if she had lost her memory.

...Gojo Satoru never came to talk to Hinata Aoi about those things, so how could he?

In the silence, it was Sakurai who first realized:

"So, even though you're the closest to Hinata, you don't, uh..."

To prevent Sakurai from saying anything more hurtful, Tsu Miki jumped in, covering up what Sakurai hadn't said with her own words:

"Anyway, treating it as reading comprehension is still too much. The answers to the test questions may not reflect the author's true thoughts, and Hinata is not an article."

"Why don't you ask the senior that Hinata is teaching? Or find a chance to ask Hinata directly."

"If you were Goumaki and asked, Hinata might tell you."

Inujuki nodded hesitantly at Tsumeki's gentle suggestion.

Of course, he wouldn't ask Kageyama, as he wouldn't be able to get anything useful out of him. Even if he went to Sato to get information in a roundabout way, there was no need to ask Kageyama.

The two people in front of me are the most worthy people to consult.

If I can't get any useful ideas even with this... If he, who is considered by everyone to be Hinata Aoi's best friend, can't see the shadow of the correct answer, then isn't Hinata Aoi being misunderstood by anyone?

How lonely it would be...

......

A good attitude can benefit a setter throughout his life, and the same is true in learning.

In contrast, Hinata Aoi was so worried that her hair was falling out even more.

She supported her head with her hands on her temples, blinking slowly as she focused her attention on watching Kageyama do the questions.

The thoughts kept running through my head, “Why did I agree to this?”, “Isn’t it the right thing to say no?”, and so on.

The time Kageyama had to ask her for help was quite tight, as the entrance exam was less than a month away.

Given Kageyama's forgetful brain, passing every exam on the first try was a real feat. If he wanted to get into Shiratorizawa... he probably wouldn't be able to memorize all the answers even if they were revealed to him in advance.

Now it's a race between whether she can cram in knowledge faster or Kageyama forgets it faster.

And why did she agree to it? Even if she was a senior in the club, she should have refused.

Helping team members with their studies in the club comes from the manager's sense of responsibility.

After leaving the club, he still helps his seniors to continue their studies. Isn't that just Chunchun doing charity?

Whether it was Nishimiya or Kageyama, when faced with more prominent problems, didn't she hold back from interfering and taking action at the beginning? Why did she always lose control in the end?

Not helping out at the most opportune moment, and not being able to resist completely not implementing his own solitary plan, doesn't that mean he hasn't done his best from any perspective?

...Isn't this all clear? Why can't you control yourself?!

In her frustration, her hands suddenly lost strength and Hinata Aoi almost hit her head hard on the desk. Fortunately, someone quickly extended a hand to cushion her head.

Inujuan Ji, who happened to arrive, couldn't help but worry. He lifted Hinata Aoi's head and repeatedly checked the temperature with his palm.

"It's okay, it's okay." Hinata Aoi waved her hand and smiled slightly.

Just don't agree next time...
