Specks of starlight, accompanied by obscure incantations, slowly coalesced in the air.
A hand covered in calluses, rough like that of an old farmer, took shape.
Every single one, even the smallest magic spell, is the result of the painstaking efforts of generations of magicians, and will more or less bear some of the characteristics and habits of its creator.
The two stared at the palm, which clenched into a fist in mid-air and raised a middle finger at them. After a long while, it slowly pointed in a direction.
Li Ming was silent for a moment, then looked at Hillary and winked, "Are all you magicians this mischievous?"
Hillary was already used to it and didn't care about the other party's ridicule. She stepped forward and followed the hand that was leading the way.
Seeing that the other party ignored him, Li Ming shrugged and followed.
As the magically formed hand slowly dissipated, the two gazed at the castle before them, both frowning.
They didn't seem to understand why a dragon would appear in the castle.
Was it being raised by someone?
They exchanged a glance, both quite confident in their own strength, believing that together they could withstand very few forces in the northwestern kingdoms.
"Who goes there!"
Upon spotting two figures rapidly approaching from afar, the guards protecting the castle immediately went on high alert, gripping their spears and preparing for battle.
Li Ming glanced at it and raised his hand to grip the knife on his back.
But before he could make a move, Hillary slammed her staff heavily on the ground, unleashing an invisible wave that caused vines to sprout from the earth, quickly disarming the guards.
The two then swaggered into the heart of the castle.
The commotion caused by the battle quickly attracted many guards, who, armed with spears, rushed over.
Their fighting spirit was stronger than before, because although the current lord was a dragon, he provided them with twice the previous salary.
While it wasn't to the point where they would risk their lives, it was enough to make them deeply grateful.
Vines spread across the land, and dozens of guards were quickly disarmed. The remaining guards, seeing this, did not hesitate to lay down their weapons and squatted on the ground, trembling.
Obvious incompetence.
Two figures walked between them, ignoring them, and strode into the castle.
The castle gates opened, and the dragon sitting on the throne adjusted the black bow tie around its neck, holding a jar of red wine in its hand, gently swirling it.
Like an elegant gentleman.
Old Sam beside him trembled slightly, wondering what was going on. Was the lord going to change again? This place was so small, yet it was so popular.
He muttered to himself and cursed under his breath.
Princess Mary, perhaps having undergone a change in mindset, instinctively hid behind Su Qing upon seeing an outsider intrude.
Irene had originally intended to hide with Princess Mary, but her eyes lit up when she saw the old woman approaching.
"teacher!"
She was thrilled; her teacher had finally come to her rescue!
Meanwhile, Alan looked at his teacher with a complicated expression, his heart filled with mixed feelings.
With his teacher in front of him and his master, with a pledge of allegiance behind him, what should he do?
"We are honored to have two guests at our door. What brings you here?"
The roar of the dragon, carrying its might, echoed throughout the castle.
Su Qing watched the two people with great interest. She could feel the unique aura emanating from them, an aura that came from the experience of being a strong person and from being in a high position for a long time.
Moreover, he had already noticed the fight that had just broken out outside.
He originally intended to go out and deal with the two of them, but considering that he was now a lord and a nobleman, he needed to be mindful of his status, so he waited for the two of them to come in.
Hillary's eyes flashed with surprise. She had long heard that dragons in their infancy before the age of one hundred were all simple-minded fools, but she never expected to see such an intelligent one today.
But as a mage, and a noblewoman of high status, she observed proper etiquette and did not show any surprise. She bowed slightly and said, "My lord, my student has been visiting you for a long time and has neglected her studies. I would like to take her back to the magic academy for further study. I hope you will grant my request."
"Moreover, as a dragon, you are ultimately not suitable for our human territory. We hope you can leave and return to the sea."
The old lady spoke so politely and tactfully that Su Qing felt a little embarrassed to hit her.
Just as he was struggling with how to answer, the disheveled knight came to his rescue: "You bunch of mages still love to dawdle. Just kill this beast, and everything will be solved!"
Li Ming spoke impatiently, drawing the knife from his back. It gleamed coldly, exuding a murderous aura.
Even with its tail, a dragon that is only six meters long is still considered a baby dragon among dragons, and even with its powerful bloodline, it has not yet had a chance to show its full potential.
He felt that if he didn't cut his opponent in two with a single strike, he would be unworthy of the title of high knight.
Hillary sighed slightly. Knights are indeed all brutes. Why resort to fists when things can be resolved through reason?
Moreover, the two of them teamed up to bully a baby dragon, which doesn't sound good to outsiders.
Seeing that the two people didn't seem to care about her, Su Qing felt a little annoyed. She took out Old Sam's pocket watch and checked the time; it was almost noon.
"Old Sam, go down and prepare lunch. Make it a feast; I need to entertain my guests."
"The three of you go and help too."
Mary hesitated upon hearing this, while Alan breathed a sigh of relief; regardless of who won or lost, he no longer needed to intervene.
