The golden dragon's pupils contracted slightly as it watched the figure slowly dissipate, the starlight returning to the heavens and earth, before finally exhaling a long plume of white mist.
His gaze fell downwards, and a hint of helplessness flashed in his bright dragon eyes.
The Black Dragon Clan are all stubborn fools, and the little black fat guy below is especially headstrong.
Instigated by several other dragons, he impulsively came to the mainland to snatch the princess.
Little did they know, humans are not so easy to get along with.
To his surprise, the chubby little black boy actually managed to kidnap the princess and even became a minor lord.
The golden dragon shook his head; in his eyes, this small achievement was no different from children playing around.
However, it attracted the attention of powerful human beings, and this little black fat guy is going to have a hard time from now on.
It's good to train him a little more; when he can't hold on any longer, I can just take him away myself!
The golden dragon didn't pay much attention, closed its eyes again, and disappeared above the cloud dome.
Elsewhere, a middle-aged man in a purple starlight magic robe led a young man through mountains and rivers, across wilderness, before suddenly coming to a slow stop.
His eyes closed briefly, then slowly opened again, a cold glint flashing in his weathered yet sharp gaze.
How dare you!
"Teacher! What's wrong?"
The young man noticed the change in his teacher's expression and became somewhat curious.
The middle-aged man shook his head slightly and looked at his student: "Jiawei, I was planning to take you to see an old friend, but now there is something I need you to do."
"Please give your instructions, teacher!"
The young man named Javi had a pair of deep, beautiful purple eyes, short purple hair, and wore a blue magic robe embroidered with silver circles, making him look both spirited and charming.
“A territory in the Duchy of Carter has been occupied by a giant dragon. That dragon is unusually powerful, and I need you to drive it away or kill it.”
"clear!"
The young man nodded and readily agreed.
The middle-aged man nodded in satisfaction, pleased with his student's performance, but he didn't forget to warn him: "You may not be a match for that dragon now. You can try to leverage the power of those countries and territories."
"Here are a few magical items. Keep them with you; they might be of some help. This is also a test for you. If you can complete it perfectly, I will reward you with a magical baptism."
After explaining some things, the master and apprentice parted ways. The middle-aged man continued towards his original destination, while Jiawei followed another road and headed towards the northwestern kingdoms.
Su Qing was completely unaware of the situation and was currently hosting a lively banquet.
At the huge, long table, Su Qing sat in the main seat, smiling and inviting everyone to drink and eat.
"From today onwards, Archmage Hillary and Knight Li Ming have officially joined the Dragon Territory. Welcome them!"
Clap clap clap!
Old Sam clapped enthusiastically, feeling genuinely happy that his team had grown stronger.
Mary hesitated for a moment, then gently clapped her hands twice.
The other four remained silent, or more accurately, the atmosphere was somewhat awkward.
Alan looked at Li Ming, and the two of them locked eyes, inexplicably feeling a sense of shared misfortune.
In contrast to the two of them, Irene was furious. She couldn't believe that her learned and refined teacher would submit to a dragon.
Hillary's aged face showed a hint of helplessness, and she could only cast a look of utter desperation at her student, who was like a fish on a chopping board.
Su Qing ignored these people's petty thoughts and looked at her base of support with satisfaction.
Although apart from the loyal old Sam, the others don't seem very reliable.
"You two have come at just the right time; our Dragon Territory is in dire need of manpower."
After eating and drinking his fill, Su Qing had two girls wipe his scales while he opened a map and pointed to the forest to the north.
"There is still too little farmland in the territory, and the roads are blocked, making it difficult for merchants to travel."
"I plan to clear the northern forests into farmland and build a road to other territories to better develop the territory's commerce."
Su Qing talked about construction at every turn, but never mentioned his idea of expanding his territory.
Li Ming and Hillary exchanged glances, both noticing the strange look in each other's eyes. The dragon, symbolizing destruction and rage, was actually discussing the development of their territory with them.
"Your Lordship is indeed farsighted and ambitious. I wonder what we can do to help you?"
Li Ming tactfully responded, as a wandering knight he had never cared about the eight honors of the Knights Guild, and he felt no shame in flattering a dragon.
Hillary gave him a disdainful look, but didn't say anything sarcastic, and listened quietly.
"Here's the thing, there are over a hundred guards in the castle, but I don't need them. I hope that you two can each lead a group to the northern forest to clear a path and to the eastern river to build a bridge."
Su Qing decided to launch simultaneous attacks; after all, she had just acquired two laborers, so why not make use of them?
Li Ming and Hillary Clinton both looked at the map, towards the north and east, and frowned simultaneously.
"My lord, these two directions connect to the territories of two other lords. If we build roads and bridges, they may not be willing to do so!"
Li Ming hesitated before speaking.
Snap!
Su Qing seemed to have been hit where it hurt, and angrily slammed his fist on the long table: "Those two territories were originally the territory of my Dragon Ridge, but they were temporarily occupied by those two outsiders. Once the road is cleared, we will take back our land and liberate our enslaved compatriots."
