Chapter 143 Bewitching

Su Qing was seriously pondering some business matters when someone suddenly patted her on the shoulder.

Turning my head, I saw two people. One had an indifferent expression and seemed aloof, while the other had a malicious look on his lips.

"Kid, the boss ordered you to stay in the city for a while, and we two brothers will take care of you!"

"I'm so sorry!"

Su Qing answered casually.

The man's smile froze, and his face twitched.

Is this person an idiot? Does he really think this is some kind of compliment?

After answering, Su Qing realized, "That won't do, I still have business to do!"

You can't stop me from doing business!

"What kind of business are you talking about!"

The man's gaze fell on Su Qing's basket, and he suddenly changed his mind: "Why don't you give these things to us two brothers!"

The other person frowned, his voice icy: "Don't cause any trouble. The boss just wants us to keep an eye on him."

"Okay, okay!"

The man sighed and looked away: "If you want to do business, you can go wherever you want when the boss comes back, but you're not allowed to leave this city now."

I'm worried your boss won't be able to come back!

Su Qing muttered to herself, but didn't mind staying a few more days: "Then where will I stay?"

The question surprised the two of them. Their small town was not very big, with each family having their own house and building more as needed. They really couldn't find any extra housing in the short term.

The two men exchanged glances, and in the end, it was the indifferent man who made the decision: "Go ask the second-in-command what to do. If that doesn't work, find someone to vacate a room for him to stay in for a few days."

The man nodded, and the two of them led Su Qing toward the city center.

The courtyard was enclosed, with a stone fort in the center and several servants tending to the flowers and plants in the courtyard.

The buildings and layout here are quite nice; it looks like a place where someone lives!

Su Qing looked around when she suddenly felt the ground shake, followed by a gruff voice: "What are you two carrying?"

Su Qing looked over upon hearing the sound and saw what a valiant woman!

He had disheveled hair, a delicate face, but was terrifyingly strong from the neck down. He wore armor, had a red cloak on his back, and carried two axes in his hands.

He was looking at the three of them, clearly asking the two men a question.

"Second-in-command!"

The two men quickly bowed, and the one with the roguish air spoke up: "This guy is a scoundrel, a wandering merchant. The boss is worried he'll cause trouble, so he asked us to keep an eye on him, but there's nowhere for him to stay."

"oh!"

The woman nodded, her voice booming, "There are empty rooms here, so let him stay here. With me watching over him, he won't be able to run away!"

Su Qing turned around and looked at the two people: "How about the three of us squeeze in together!"

Honestly, living under the same roof as such a woman, as a dragon baby, Su Qing felt very dangerous.

No one paid attention to his suggestion. The aloof man bowed and said, "No need to trouble the second master. The two of us can keep an eye on him. But will the three of us being here cause any disturbance?"

"fine!"

The woman was very generous: "I'll just have the maid prepare more food these next few days."

As a matter of course, Su Qing settled in, and he moved the box full of gold coins from the carriage into his room.

He needs to keep a close eye on these things; if they are lost, he might be heartbroken.

What is this?

The aloof man seemed to want to help Su Qing when he saw her carrying things, but Su Qing directly refused.

"These are my personal belongings, I can handle them myself!"

After carrying the boxes into the room, Su Qing lay down on the bed, while the two guys stood outside the door.

This scene reminded him of Tiger Village, which, upon reflection, was already more than ten days ago.

Time flies! Back then, he was a penniless wandering merchant, but now he has 20,000 gold coins.

But just like back then, he is still imprisoned.

At the same time, Martha was also locked up.

"You'll stay in your room during this time. I'll have the servants bring you your meals. You absolutely mustn't go to the beach!"

The Roberts warned their daughter, instructed the two maids to watch over her, and then went downstairs to attend to their own business.

Martha was sulking in the room; her parents' actions had upset her.

She didn't think the goldfish was a bad fish, after all, it had granted her two wishes and she still had one more chance to make a wish.

She originally intended to give it to her parents, but now, out of spite, she wants to use it herself.

However, if I want to make a wish, I have to go to the beach, but I can't go there right now.

The girl was furious; she should have just made her wish by herself.

With people watching her from outside, she has no way to get to the beach.

Moreover, her parents objected to her going to see the goldfish, but they didn't have a clear reason.

It's like when a daughter's boyfriend is dating, and her parents object after only meeting him once, saying he doesn't seem like a good person. How could a girl possibly accept that?

Therefore, if you want to break them up, you must come up with a clear reason; otherwise, the girl, who is caught up in obsessive thinking, will be completely blinded and will not consider the consequences.

Although Martha is not in a relationship, she is in a similar state at this moment.

She saved the goldfish, and the goldfish granted her wish. Although it happened in a somewhat fantastical way, it seemed so reasonable.

Martha saw her parents' unfounded opposition as utterly unreasonable.

As dusk settled, little Martha lay in bed, her mind filled with conflicting thoughts, and soon fell asleep.
