Chapter 163 Ruins

An area within the field of view was locked.

Su Qing gazed at the capital city hidden beneath the yellow sand, and without a word, quickened her pace to head there.

Its claws didn't forget to pick up the black sparrow next to it.

In the vast desert, countless adventurers and mercenaries were scattered, each with their own methods and approaches.

At first glance, no one might notice, but as the sandstorm grew stronger and more and more yellow sand was blown up, the capital gradually became clear, and naturally, people saw it, and not just one or two.

However, no one was foolish enough to make a fuss, and they quietly waited for the right moment to go in.

The capital was shrouded in a layer of light, which served a protective function and preserved the giant city to the greatest extent possible.

The yellow sand swirled and scraped against the light screen. At first, the light screen was incredibly bright, but gradually, weak points were revealed in some areas.

Several sharp-eyed adventurers seized the opportunity and quickly rushed in, passing through the light curtain and entering the ancient city.

From afar, Su Qing could see that among the people who went in was the middle-aged man who had clashed with the old man in the tavern.

Su Qing slowly approached, and at the same time, more people rushed over.

The knowledgeable old man was among them.

"It's extremely dangerous inside. It's best not to go in unless you're prepared to die inside. Of all the people who have entered the ruins in the past, no more than five out of a hundred have ever come out alive. Last time, they were all wiped out!"

"Once inside, you must come out before the sandstorm stops; otherwise, even a Brilliant-level expert won't be able to get out once the yellow sand reburies the ancient city and the light barrier stabilizes!"

The old man issued a warning, which was the greatest act of goodwill an old mercenary could offer.

However, he had clearly made up his mind, and taking advantage of the flickering light screen, he leaped into a weak point.

"Would you like to go in by yourself, or should I go in with you?"

Su Qing looked at Black Sparrow and asked in a friendly tone, showing great respect for the other party's decision.

Black Sparrow was a little confused; she still couldn't figure out the dragon's tactics: "Can't I just not go in?"

The old mercenary made it very clear that there was a high chance he wouldn't come out once he went in, so why should he go in and die?

It should be noted that most of those who just went in were high-ranking knights, and quite a few were even Glory-level.

She was merely a female thief at the Great Knight level.

Su Qing laughed: "Don't forget, you're the one who brought me here?"

Black Sparrow then realized that he had indeed given the directions. He had originally intended to trick this guy, but now it seemed that he had tricked himself as well.

"alright!"

Seeing that many people were rushing into the ruins, Su Qing stopped wasting time, grabbed the black sparrow, and rushed into the city without saying a word.

The light screen rippled like waves. Su Qing landed on her feet, put down the black sparrow she was carrying, and looked around.

A desolate city, with houses lining both sides of the street, desolate and ancient.

It is a very large city, and what is now exposed in the yellow sand is only the tip of the iceberg.

They were on a small street in the north of the city.

The doors of the houses on both sides were tightly closed, while some doors were open, and there were scattered bloodstains in several places.

Being brought to such a place, Black Sparrow was extremely nervous, closely following Su Qing's footsteps.

The two walked slowly forward and came to an open door. Peeking inside, they were shocked to see a corpse.

It was a dried-out corpse. Judging from its clothes, it was probably an adventurer, possibly one of the group from thirty years ago. How could it have died here?

After a moment's thought, Su Qing looked at her and said, "Sister-in-law, do you want to go in and take a look? I'll keep watch outside for you."

"roll!"

Black Sparrow was truly furious this time. How could she, a dragon, say something like that, just letting her go in to her death?

Don't be angry!

Su Qing offered a word of comfort, then opened her palm, and a cloud of mist gathered, transforming into a stick with a hook.

With a sudden, forceful pull, he dragged the body out.

The door slammed shut the moment the body was pulled out of the room.

These rooms are not normal!

Making a quick judgment, Su Qing looked down and examined the corpse.

The corpse was somewhat eerie, its hands still in a position as if it had strangled itself to death.

Su Qing didn't touch the corpse and hurriedly left with Black Sparrow.

This ancient city is a bit eerie!

A sense of unease crept into his mind; it seemed he needed to find someone to inquire about the situation.

As he opened his field of vision, he encountered an unexpected obstacle: a strange force blocked his view, limiting it to a radius of five hundred meters.

ah!

A sudden, piercing scream came from another street not far away.

Su Qing paused, her attention shifting to that spot.

But all they saw was a closed door. When it was opened again, there was only a pile of clothes on the floor and a white skeleton.

This city has a strange quality.

However, it's not all danger; opportunities are also intertwined.

Walking along the street and observing the situation within a 500-meter radius, Su Qing discovered that some people had also found good things, and not all rooms were particularly dangerous.

Someone found an iron hammer in a room. It was made of a special metal and could be sold for tens of thousands of gold coins. It was also quite cost-effective for personal use.

Some people also found a large bag of gold coins and some magic crystals.

The adventurers who entered the ruins swarmed like locusts, looting everything they could find.

But the screams that rang out from time to time were terrifying.

Each door they open felt like a gamble; winning brought rich rewards, while losing meant certain death. Yet, these adventurers never tired of it.
