Princess Mary huddled in the corner, her gorgeous dress now filthy.
Looking at the jet-black dragon not far away, the beautiful girl felt a little wronged and couldn't help but sob softly.
As the most beloved daughter of the King of the Duchy of Carter, she was treated like a precious jewel by everyone. She wore the most gorgeous and clean dresses and was served by countless maids. Even when it came to expensive white bread, she would only eat the softest piece...
Where else have we ever suffered such treatment?
Thinking about life in the King's Castle, and then looking at herself now, she realized that this wretched dragon had just bullied her with its claws.
When the prince and knight arrive, she will make them cut off the head of this wretched dragon.
Although Su Qing hadn't used much force, the princess's delicate body couldn't withstand the strain, and her lower abdomen was still aching slightly.
The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt, and the girl began to cry.
But looking at the ferocious-looking dragon, the princess didn't dare to cry out loudly. Unconsciously, exhaustion overwhelmed her, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Glug glug!
Not long after she fell asleep, Princess Mary's stomach began to protest loudly.
This girl, who had never experienced hunger before, finally tasted the feeling of an empty stomach.
Somewhat reluctantly, Princess Mary opened her eyes to a huge dragon head.
Su Qing had woken up at some point and was quietly gazing at her.
Glug glug!
My stomach is protesting again!
Princess Mary's cheeks flushed red.
They seemed quite ashamed of this impolite behavior.
But the next moment, Princess Mary heard a rumbling sound like thunder.
It came from inside the belly of that giant dragon.
The princess's face turned deathly pale, and her body trembled violently as she thought of something terrible.
She initially thought being abducted by a dragon was already tragic enough, but now she realized that being eaten by a dragon seemed to be an even more terrifying thing.
Su Qing had no idea what the little princess was thinking; he was simply trying to comfort Princess Mary.
"I'm going out to find some food. If you dare to run away, I'll twist your head off!"
As he spoke, thick white mist billowed from his mouth and nose.
Su Qing ignored it, flapped its wings, and flew out of the cave.
After flying a distance, Su Qing began to search his memory for information about the surrounding area.
There seems to be a rather bustling town not far to the east; we should be able to find something to eat there!
However, it seems that the place belongs to a great lord, I think his name is Earl Rangnick.
Without much thought, Su Qing decided to go there and try to freeload.
...
Andy Town!
The streets were bustling with people, just as lively as usual, and the shops on both sides were very busy, with owners and employees greeting customers.
When familiar or acquainted people meet, they greet each other warmly.
Laughter and cheerful conversation filled the air, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
Until a horse-drawn carriage drove towards the town.
It was a luxurious carriage, pulled by four horses, that only nobles could ride in, and it stopped in front of the town.
A middle-aged man with a small goatee and meticulously groomed hair stepped down from the carriage with an air of arrogance.
Behind him followed two fully armed guards, each carrying a sack. The three of them walked into the town together.
They entered the first shop, a shop specializing in custom-made clothing. The owner was an elderly man with gray hair, dressed simply but very cleanly.
He was explaining different styles of clothing to a customer when he saw the man with the goatee walk in. He quickly put down what he was holding and greeted him with a smile.
"Master Steward Otto, why did you come in person? If you have any instructions, you could have just sent someone to inform me."
The old man bowed and scraped, his face full of flattery.
"You old codger, you sure know how to talk!"
The man with the goatee curled his lip: "The Earl wants to renovate the castle and is short of money, so he asked me to collect this month's rent."
"There are eleven silver coins in total. Hurry up and take them out."
Upon hearing this, the old man's face turned pale, and his hands trembled slightly involuntarily: "But...but...but didn't we agree last month that the rent would only be nine silver coins?"
The goatee-bearded steward's face darkened, and he scolded irritably, "Old man, the Earl rented such a prosperous town to you for business. You should be grateful. Is eleven silver coins a high rent?"
"Hurry up and hand it over, or don't blame us for being impolite!"
As he spoke, the goatee-bearded steward gave a look to the two guards beside him.
The two guards immediately understood and rushed forward like wolves, ransacking the place.
The old man tried to stop them, but one of the guards pushed him to the ground. Soon, the two found some silver coins, about twenty or thirty pieces, as well as some loose iron and copper coins.
The goatee-bearded steward didn't even count them, dumping all the silver coins into a sack and throwing the iron and copper coins to the old man sitting on the ground wailing, his tone somewhat condescending.
"This will be two months' rent for you!"
After saying that, he swaggered off to the next shop with two guards.
Pedestrians on the road who witnessed this scene were all terrified and hurriedly left.
The new lord, who had only recently inherited the title, was a complete tyrant.
The other shop owners, witnessing this scene, were also stunned and didn't know what to do.
Someone tried to take advantage of the closed doors, but when they saw one of the houses with its doors closed, the two guards forcibly broke them open. The shop owner was even beaten up, and after that, he dared not make any further moves.
