The young city lord left the dungeon and walked away.
Su Qing stood behind him, considered for a long time, but still did not go in.
He didn't know if the young city lord had any backup plans. If he broke in and was discovered, things would get complicated. It was better to leave the task of rescuing the old city lord to Chris.
Following the young city lord back to the city lord's mansion, Su Qing lay on the white clouds and waited all night until dawn when four figures walked out of the city lord's mansion and headed out of the city.
Su Qing didn't see Chris or know what he was doing; she was simply following the four of them.
The sky wasn't very bright yet, and the clouds where Su Qing was lying had turned gray and weren't very noticeable.
Being able to control the color of clouds is an effect after skill upgrade. Riding on auspicious seven-colored clouds is no longer a dream; Su Qing can do it now.
After traveling five hundred miles eastward, a lake came into view.
The clear, blue water shimmered in the sunlight.
"The ruins you mentioned are here?"
The skeleton spoke, its tone filled with skepticism. This place didn't look like a place with ruins at all.
The young city lord smiled, his face seemingly calm throughout, but the fierceness between his brows was not so easy to hide.
"Please don't rush, everyone. The ruins are located beneath this lake, but before that, we need to use some methods to remove the water from the lake."
The words were spoken calmly and casually, but in front of them was a huge lake covering hundreds of square kilometers, and its depth was unknown.
The other three exchanged glances, considered it briefly, and did not refuse. For them, although it would take some effort, it was not a difficult task.
"I'll go first!"
A bird-man with ice-blue wings stepped forward, his wings fluttering slightly. He used some unknown method, and the water in the lake instantly boiled, forming a large whirlpool around the center of the lake.
The whirlpool grew larger and larger, eventually stirring up all the water in the lake.
A cold glint flashed in the birdman's eyes, and he let out a bird's cry. As if on command, a thick column of water shot into the sky from the center of the whirlpool in the lake.
The skeleton waved its staff, and it seemed as if a place in the sky was suddenly torn apart, revealing an endless darkness.
The water column swirled and plunged into the darkness. An hour later, the lake completely dried up, revealing the mud beneath.
At this moment, not only the young city lord, but also the other three noticed the anomaly.
Amidst the vast expanse of mud, there was a spot that emitted a shimmering white light.
The four men arrived at the spot, cleared away the mud, and examined it carefully.
It was a door, lying flat on the ground, leading underground.
The door was made of some kind of metal, and it was engraved with various ancient and rough patterns.
The three people besides the young city lord exchanged glances. The dwarf, who had the most volatile temper, was about to open the door when his fingers touched the door knocker. A shimmering light rippled outwards, and a terrifying force erupted, sending the dwarf flying.
Seeing that the three had suffered a minor setback, the young city lord finally spoke up: "This door is not so easy to open. As I said before, it will take the four of us working together to have a chance of opening it."
As he spoke, the young city lord began to take out some materials, preparing to break the magic circle.
Su Qing watched from high above, her eyelids twitching uncontrollably as she looked at the door.
This door is a bit scary; even his all-seeing eyes couldn't see through it. What kind of terrifying ruins lie beneath?
He watched as the four people below joined forces, unleashing their power. The crystalline luster was slowly worn away, and it took almost half a day for the light to disappear completely. The door was then slowly opened, revealing a stone staircase leading down below.
The four looked at each other and saw the excitement in each other's eyes. The hot-tempered dwarf took the lead and strode into the room.
After the four of them went down, Su Qing secretly followed them.
The four walked slowly and cautiously through the long stone staircase, taking almost half a day. After descending thousands of meters underground, the view before them finally opened up.
An empty hall, with several lampstands on either side, their orange flames burning.
The three looked at each other, feeling that this place was somewhat different from the ruins they had imagined.
The young city lord, however, went straight to the center of the main hall.
The other three stopped to watch.
The young city lord knelt down facing the endless darkness before him, chanting some ancient incantations.
And as these incantations were chanted, the orange flames turned blood red.
Even the most naive of the three men realized something was wrong: "Kid, what do you mean? Where are we? What are you planning to do?"
The young city lord ignored them, slowly stood up, and said in normal language, "Great God, please accept the offering I offer to you, and grant me strength and life!"
The endless darkness ahead was completely illuminated as the young city lord finished speaking.
There is a statue there, with the body of a snake and three heads, its expression showing joy, anger, and sorrow.
Su Qing stood in the distance of the passage and recognized the statue at a glance.
Since his encounter with the God of Greed, Su Qing has been studying various deities.
He knew something about the deity before him.
It is said that in ancient times, a snake-man attained the position of a god.
The god of cruelty and ruthlessness is a lower-ranking god among the gods of hell.
While not comparable to the God of Greed, he was still a true deity. The young city lord was actually his follower, and it seemed he intended to sacrifice these three people to obtain the divine power bestowed upon him.
Su Qing thought of his map; perhaps the so-called secret realm was a place similar to the one before him.
Upon hearing the young city lord's prayer, the three men turned pale instantly and fled without a word.
If they really are gods, they are no match for them; the best option is to flee immediately.
But as soon as they set off, the eyes of the three heads on the statue lit up, emitting a bright green light, and instantly locked onto the three of them.
The statue opened its mouth strangely, and a terrifying suction force spread, forcibly pulling the three people back.
Realizing they couldn't escape, the three decisively began to fight back.
It's just a statue. Even if we can't beat it, can't we at least create a chance to escape?
The dwarf, in a fit of rage, threw his hammer. It was blocked by a barrier of light about a meter away from the statue, and the hammer bounced back, knocking the dwarf so hard he coughed up blood.
The bird-man with ice-blue wings flapped his wings, and hundreds of ice arrows shot out, rushing towards the statue. At the same time, the skeleton waved his staff, and dark power spread, forming dark shadow balls that smashed towards the statue.
Each of the three men's attacks was incredibly powerful. While they might not be able to destroy the world, they could certainly demolish several mountains or level several rivers. But against this stone statue, they were like mud oxen sinking into the sea.
The terrifying suction force intensified, and the three of them gradually approached the mouth of the statue.
The three heads opened their mouths and bit at them.
