The quiet hall gradually became noisy, with many people whispering and discussing, extremely curious about the gift presented by Count Tanger.
"Is it really a dragon cub?"
"How could that be? If there really were dragon cubs, no matter who it was, they would definitely keep them in their own hands. They're probably some kind of dragon with a higher bloodline!"
Some people are skeptical, while others simply don't believe it.
A smile gradually appeared on the Queen's pale face, somewhat eerily, and Count Mego, who noticed this, felt a sudden jolt in his heart.
A sense of foreboding lingered in my heart.
“A dragon cub? Earl Tanger is very kind. Bring it up so that I, the Queen, can have a look.”
Her tone was very calm, as if this old hag didn't believe in any dragon cubs.
Someone carried a gift box up, and when the box was opened, all eyes turned to it, filled with curiosity.
A small beast covered in black scales came into view.
Su Qing remained expressionless as many naked gazes stared at her.
"What's this?"
"Is it really a dragon?"
"Impossible, how could there be such a small dragon?"
"Perhaps it belongs to a dragon species!"
The crowd began to whisper amongst themselves again.
The queen looked at the little beast, walked over, and gently stroked its scales with her palm.
"What an adorable pet!"
Su Qing said with a hint of disdain: You're the pet, your whole family are pets!
He mentally scoffed, deciding to remain undercover, figuring that Count Mego's plan had probably been exposed.
But it has nothing to do with him; he is just a pitiful dragon being used.
The ball continued, and Su Qing climbed to a table and began to eat by herself.
The queen did not speak, so no one dared to stop him.
The queen paid little attention to the small black beast.
The ball continued, and soon the king picked up his wine glass, his fingers habitually swirling around in the glass before toasting the many nobles.
When Count Mego saw this, his heart began to race, and he watched as the Queen brought the wine glass to her lips.
However, the next moment, a strange smile appeared on the Queen's face: "Earl Mego, Marquis Steller, you will be very happy if I drink this wine!"
Boom!
Feeling as if struck by lightning, the two men's expressions changed drastically at the same time. Their plan had been exposed. Who had betrayed them?
Who else could it be? It must be another marquis!
Su Qing stopped eating and looked at the two people with disdain, as if they were idiots.
The plan was indeed feasible, but even the best plan can't withstand a few traitors!
At this point, Count Mego knew he could no longer hesitate. He slammed his cup down and shouted, his voice carrying beyond the hall: "Guards!"
His numerous men, who had been lying in ambush outside, immediately rushed in.
Count Mego was always cautious in his actions, and even this time, he had made two preparations.
The concern was that the plan would be exposed and their own safety would be compromised.
The hundred or so men lying in ambush outside were his trusted confidants, who were protecting him in the center.
"Run!"
Count Mego gave a low shout.
Hundreds of people surrounded him and ran outside.
But how could that old hag let someone who wanted to kill her leave? Her smile deepened, and the crystal mirror in her hand reflected the image of the hundred people.
Within the crystal mirror, a pair of eyes slowly opened, without pupils, only an eerie white, exuding a cold and terrifying aura.
The bodies of hundreds of people froze at that moment, and a grayish-white color spread upwards from their feet.
In the blink of an eye, it turned into hundreds of stone statues.
Everyone's expression froze on that moment of terror.
The queen's smile deepened until it turned into a loud, unrestrained laugh, so loud she doubled over like a madwoman.
"This is what happens when you betray me!"
The queen pointed at the hundreds of people, her voice suddenly turning cold.
Looking at the group of nobles, he noticed that their expressions were rather strange.
As if she had thought of something, the queen suddenly turned around and felt her hand go empty.
The crystal was forcibly taken away by a tremendous force. Su Qing played with it with great interest, then carefully put it into a gift box.
He turned to the Queen and grinned, "Let me introduce myself. I am the Lord of the Dragon Territory, here to celebrate the Queen's birthday."
"Happy birthday to you!"
The nobles were dumbfounded. How could that seemingly dull and foolish little black beast suddenly become so cheeky?
"Alright, now that we've finished our personal matters, let's talk about business."
As Su Qing spoke, his body swelled up, transforming into a six-meter-long black dragon.
His cold, sharp gaze swept over everyone in the room before settling back on the Queen: "That brat Mino made a deal with me. If I helped him get revenge, he would hand over the Duchy of Renault to me."
His voice was very loud, because it was mixed with the roar of a dragon, it could even be described as deafening.
But the old hag seemed not to hear anything, her bloodshot eyes fixed on him: "Give me back my treasure!"
Su Qing looked at the old hag and thought that she might really have gone mad.
"Guards! Seize him!"
The queen began to roar.
Some guards rushed in, but were driven out by several nobles, while the rest of the people did not make any move.
The queen felt a chill in her heart upon seeing this scene. She knew she was finished. Without the magic mirror's power, she was just an ordinary old woman. Even without the dragon, the nobles who resented her would tear her apart.
Su Qing didn't rush to take action. He needed to find out one thing: how to turn the person who had turned into a stone statue back. Otherwise, he would suffer a huge loss this time. Two thousand elite soldiers and two high-ranking knights were all lost, and he was unwilling to bear such a loss.
But before he could speak, a ferocious look appeared on the queen's face, filled with hatred and utter desperation: "You forced this upon yourself, so don't regret it!"
Blood dripped from the finger that the Queen had suddenly bitten, and the gift box in Su Qing's hand began to tremble. The magic mirror seemed to sense its master's blood and began to rejoice.
