Chapter 49 The Hunt in Progress

The bearded man's smile grew even warmer. Since this young man dared to hunt a magical beast equivalent to a Great Knight, his strength was definitely not lacking.

With the other side's help, their team could try to hunt down some more powerful magical beasts.

He quickly found his target by flashing through his memories of various monster gathering places.

"We don't know if those blue pythons escaped from the snake den we found last time. Let's go check there."

The burly man with the thick beard gave instructions to the person in the squad who was scouting ahead.

He was a tall, thin, and taciturn man who glanced at the captain with surprise upon hearing this.

There were seven or eight blue pythons in that snake den, each with the strength of a formal knight. Their squad might not be able to take them down, and even if they did, they would suffer considerable losses.

It's a losing proposition. Why would the boss make such a decision today?

He was only surprised for a moment. The tacit understanding he had developed over the years made him not ask a question, but instead very consciously changed direction.

The burly man with the thick beard had a bright smile on his face; he had obviously considered the snake den several times before choosing it.

Firstly, the danger level there is not high, and even if they cannot eat it, they can retreat.

If one could consume them, seven or eight adult blue pythons could be exchanged for at least two or three hundred gold coins.

This is what they usually get from a single trip into the forest.

...

Su Qing placed two baskets on either side of the winged tiger, one containing some magical elixirs and the other containing magical beast cores.

Su Qing sat cross-legged on the back of the two-winged tiger, holding a whip made of vines in her hand, whipping the air from time to time, making a loud noise, without making any attempt to conceal her whereabouts.

The bruised and battered winged tiger ran on all fours, its frustration beyond description.

A bastard tried to lure it with the smell of blood, but it didn't fall for it. He then tried to tempt it with some magical potions and monster cores, but it still didn't fall for them. Later, he pretended to be weak and provoked it, but it still didn't fall for them. As a result, the bastard got angry.

Thinking of how he had just been used as a punching bag, the two-winged tiger suppressed his resentment and ran wildly in the direction Su Qing had indicated.

As they drew closer, Su Qing became more cautious, also making the large cat beneath her move more quietly to avoid disturbing the swamp rhinos.

Although swamp rhinoceroses are not very fertile and have little breeding value, they are excellent at plowing fields once tamed, making them highly valuable economically.

Along the banks of a wide river, more than twenty swamp rhinoceroses strolled leisurely, drinking water or grazing on the grass by the river.

Su Qing's gaze swept over each rhinoceros, searching for the leader of the herd.

Find their leader, take control of him, and sign a contract; this herd of rhinos will be easily brought under control.

This is the experience I gained when I subdued the Four-Horned Demon Wolf before, and it's coming in handy now.

"That's why we need to study hard!"

Su Qing patted the winged tiger's head with a sigh, leaving the big cat somewhat bewildered.

Su Qing didn't pay attention to the big cat's confusion. With a flap of its wings, it flew directly towards the strongest swamp rhinoceros in the herd.

The sudden lightness on its back startled the two-winged tiger, who was overjoyed and fled into the distance without hesitation.

But it hadn't gone far when a gloomy face loomed large before it. Su Qing was holding the leader of the swamp rhinoceros herd in one hand and a whip in the other, watching it silently.

The two-winged tiger's hair stood on end. It turned its head to look around and quickly found a corner to relieve itself.

Seeing the big cat's actions, Su Qing finally softened and didn't hit it too hard, but she almost skinned the big cat alive.

The two-winged tiger continued to carry Su Qing on its back, but it was now in a much worse state than before. Several patches of fur were missing from its body, and its face was bruised and swollen. It ran wildly on all fours toward the next location provided by Su Qing.

And the rhinoceros king, under Su Qing's careful persuasion, signed the slave contract.

Su Qing then released her grip on the rhinoceros king's horn.

The contract took effect, and Su Qing gained control of the Rhino Commander, who in turn used the Rhino Commander to control the Rhino herd.

They were supposed to be taken along, but so many swamp rhinos were too much trouble, so Su Qing left them here first.

And because they are under contractual control, there is no worry about them running away.

Su Qing headed towards another group of golden silk apes, while the mercenary team on the other side encountered some trouble.

The burly man with the thick beard looked helpless. They had originally planned to deal with those blue pythons, but who knew that the snake den had changed owners.

A venomous snake, as thick as an adult's thigh and covered in black and white stripes, stared coldly at the creatures that had disturbed its sleep.

This situation is not uncommon in the Twilight Forest, but this is truly the first time they have encountered something like this.

The Black-striped and White-spotted Snake is a venomous magical beast. It is extremely fast and agile, and most importantly, it contains potent venom, said to be able to kill even high-ranking knights.

Their combat power is comparable to that of a Grand Knight, making them an invincible opponent for this squad, and also extremely dangerous, as they could be wiped out in an instant.

The burly man with the thick beard was secretly annoyed. He had been blinded by the potential profits and had forgotten to send someone to check. If he could get back alive, he would definitely learn from this lesson.

The five men faced off against the venomous snake. Time ticked by, but the snake continued to coldly watch them, searching for their weaknesses and looking for an opportunity to strike a fatal blow.

The five dared not make any rash moves, for fear of accidentally revealing a flaw.

This can't go on any longer. The burly man with the thick beard gritted his teeth. Coming to the snake's den was his decision, so he had to bear the consequences: "I'll make the first move, and you can take the opportunity to surround and attack!"

The voice of the burly man with the thick beard reached their ears, immediately causing them to frown.

"Boss, let me do it! You're the captain, you have the most experience, our team can't do without you!"

The baby-faced man spoke up, deciding to draw the snake's attention himself.

"Let me do it. I'm faster, and nothing might happen!"

The tall, thin man also spoke up.

Seeing these people vying for the dangerous task, Chris hesitated for a moment: "I'll do it. I'm stronger than all of you."

After Chris finished speaking, he didn't talk to the others much. He was confident in his strength and could kill the venomous snake by himself without much difficulty. He just needed to hide it from these people for a while.

He drew a short sword hidden under his clothes at his waist. It was about the size of a dagger, as black as ink, and exuded a chilling aura.

Crafted from an extremely precious cold iron, it has a chance to inflict frostbite on an opponent upon injury, slowing down the recovery process.

The moment he made a move, the black-striped snake on the ground sensed the danger, its tail leaping up forcefully like an arrow, and it opened its mouth to bite Chris.
