Chapter 5 The Inheritance of Civilization

“Your Excellency, you should discuss the matter of increasing the rent in Andy Town with me.”

The old butler, with his white hair and beard, was deeply worried and felt very uneasy about the new count's tyrannical rule.

The newly appointed count, dressed elegantly and with a tall, slender figure, sat on a throne made of gold, holding a glass of red wine that emitted a faint aroma of grapes, without even lifting his eyelids.

“Butler Sam, you’re getting old. If you feel you can’t keep up, you can hand everything over to Otto.”

The young, newly appointed earl's words were filled with dissatisfaction with the old butler.

Little Lannick felt he hadn't done anything wrong; the prosperous town of Andy should pay more rent than other towns.

He needed the money to repair his castle, which he had inherited from the old count and was quite old.

Sensing the new Earl's displeasure, old Sam sighed. The old Earl had always been so kind and benevolent…

"The dragon is coming!"

Suddenly, screams erupted outside, and then hundreds of guards quickly assembled at the command of their captain.

Young Rannick and Old Sam looked at each other, both seeing fear and doubt in each other's eyes.

...

Su Qing looked at the huge castle in front of her, built with black stone and some wood, which had the style of this world from hundreds of years ago.

Spectacular and mysterious!

Su Qing was extremely satisfied. It wiggled its tail and slowly landed in front of the castle, elegantly tidying its scales like a magnificent gentleman.

The dragon's dark golden eyes looked at the welcoming guard in front of it with a mixture of surprise and delight.

"Your Excellency Dragon, may I ask why you have come to our territory?"

A burly man, over two meters tall and wearing gray armor, gripped a shield in one hand and a spear in the other, and spoke very cautiously.

He is the captain of the castle guard, born with immense strength, capable of even fighting monsters.

But when faced with a dragon that was over six meters long, his instinct was fear.

But he forced himself to suppress his fear and remain calm.

He knew that if he was afraid, the hundreds of guards behind him would also be afraid.

In that case, they would truly be powerless to fight.

"This is Earl Rangnick's territory, under the protection of King Carter. Please leave immediately."

Princess Mary felt somewhat ashamed, having been tied to her tail.

With King Carter's daughters kidnapped, mentioning his name would clearly be of little use.

Su Qing slapped them with great gentlemanly grace. His claws landed on the ground, cracking the earth in several shallow fissures, but the terrifying power subdued the hundreds of people.

Su Qing looked again at the hundreds of guards who had welcomed him, many of whom had dropped their spears to the ground.

He felt he could now reason with them: "Your count invited me to inherit his title, and I couldn't refuse, so I came!"

"fart!"

With a roar, young Lannick emerged from the castle, already clad in armor and gripping a steel sword, and furiously charged forward to fight the dragon.

This bastard actually tried to take away the territory and title that his father had passed down to him.

And what use are territory and titles to a dragon like you?

Old Sam tried to stop him, but how could the old and frail Sam possibly stop the young and strong Earl?

A terrifying aura erupted from Little Lannick, revealing him to be a formal knight. Relying on his strength, he charged fearlessly towards the dragon.

"Follow me and kill!"

He shouted to the guards, who, inspired by the count's courage, were filled with fighting spirit and took up their weapons to charge alongside him.

"It's over!"

Alan closed his eyes, feeling that these people were really courting death and would surely be killed by this hateful dragon.

Su Qing also felt that these guys were too tactless. Displeasure flashed in his dark golden dragon eyes. His blood surged and his body suddenly grew to more than 20 meters, exuding a terrifying dragon aura.

A deafening dragon roar resounded in all directions.

With a deafening roar, the captain of the guard and young Lannick, who were at the forefront, were sent flying. Seeing the situation was dire, the hundreds of knights behind them turned and ran without a word.

But they were still overtaken by the sound waves and knocked away one by one.

Hundreds of people were thrown around and were completely disoriented, but Old Sam, who was furthest away, immediately lay on the ground unharmed.

Su Qing returned to her original size, looked at the group of people sprawled out, and said gently, "Now, you should have no objections to my inheriting my brother's title, right?"

The guards were so terrified that none of them dared to speak again.

Seeing that everyone seemed to agree, Su Qing nodded and asked about her half-brother, "Where is my former earl brother?"

All eyes turned to the figure who had been hit the furthest away.

Su Qing was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected to accidentally injure his brother and felt extremely guilty. He quickly grabbed Little Lannick and said, "Brother, it was really a misunderstanding. To express my apology, I'm willing to let you be the head steward of my territory."

Those sincere words made the bewildered young Rannick want to vomit blood.

This humiliation drove him to a state of rage that caused him to lose his reason.

Seeing that young Rannick seemed about to be overwhelmed by anger again, old Sam quickly spoke up, his voice pleading earnestly, "Great dragon, what do you need? We are willing to offer you our wealth..."

Su Qing was taken aback, then looked at the old man with great admiration: "That's right, I didn't even think of that until you mentioned it. Take me to see my wealth, you'll be the castle's second steward from now on."

Old Sam shuddered, secretly looking up to see Rangnick's eyes blazing with fury.
