Chapter 73 Doing Business

The two wandered along East Street. Su Qing's gaze swept over the stalls everywhere, but nothing caught his interest.

Chris, who rarely goes out, was drawn to some strange gadgets and wandered through each stall.

Su Qing ignored him and focused her attention on the shops. She walked into one of the shops and looked at the interior decoration.

The place was simple and clean, and the few guests were all well-dressed.

However, it's likely that ordinary people wouldn't dare to enter such a shop casually.

"Sir, is there anything you need?"

A boy with an honest face stepped forward with a smile. He was wearing a standard work uniform and had clearly been trained.

Is there a divine Pure Land?

Su Qing's main goal is the Pure Land of the Gods. If the Pure Land of the Gods is not available, no matter how good other things are, Su Qing feels that he might seriously consider it.

The young man was taken aback, seemingly not expecting the other party to ask him about such important materials as soon as they opened their mouths.

However, he reacted quickly and spoke with a smile: "Please wait a moment, sir. I will go and fetch my steward to discuss this business with you!"

After the boy finished speaking, he asked another boy to serve him while he ran upstairs to the second floor.

Soon, an elderly man dressed impeccably came downstairs. He immediately spotted Su Qing, who was wrapped in a black robe, and gave a professional smile: "Hello, are you here to purchase the Pure Land of the Gods?"

Su Qing narrowed his eyes. This old man gave him a different feeling; he was clearly different from ordinary people. He was a master, well, the kind of master a high-ranking knight would be.

How many do you have here?

Sensing he was a big customer, the old man's smile widened: "How many do you need? We have twelve here for now. If you need more, we can get them to you in a short time, but you'll need to pay a deposit first."

Upon hearing that a deposit was required, Su Qing immediately abandoned the idea of having the other party arrange for the goods.

The main problem was that he really didn't have any money on him. Before leaving home, he hadn't even considered that he might have to spend money.

How much is one serving?

Su Qing inquired about the price, indicating a genuine interest in purchasing it.

"Market price: 1,000 gold coins per piece!"

The old man answered.

It doesn't seem very expensive, but you have to understand that a portion that's only the size of a little fingernail would cost hundreds of kilograms of gold to obtain.

I heard that the sacred soil of the gods is transported out of the temple by cart. I wonder when he will be able to go there and pay homage to the statues there.

If his wish could be fulfilled, Su Qing felt she would be happy to become a devout believer and prepare for inheriting the temple in the future.

It's a pity I heard they don't accept dragons there. When will this kind of racial discrimination ever disappear?

With a thought flashing through her mind, Su Qing nodded and said in a steady voice, "Okay, you can hold it for me for now. Someone will come to collect the money in a couple of days."

"Then you'd better hurry. The Pure Land of God is in high demand. Also, how will you prove that you sent them?"

The old man quickly inquired, seemingly delighted with the successful transaction.

He was indeed delighted. Twelve portions of the Pure Land of the Gods represented a deal worth twelve thousand gold coins, and he would receive at least two hundred and forty gold coins as commission.

"That person will say that Chris sent him to collect it!"

Su Qing casually remarked, putting a huge, round black pot on her younger brother.

Su Qing went to another shop and browsed through the shops one by one. There were about three shops that had the Pure Land of Gods, and two others that, although they did not, were decorated very luxuriously and sold very precious items. Su Qing also listed them as key targets for observation.

After browsing through all the shops, Su Qing was satisfied and found Chris.

Chris was standing in front of a stall, his eyes drawn to the items being sold there.

Those were crystals, each a different color, dazzling and shimmering in the sunlight, so bright they were almost blinding.

Chris had his eye on one of the aquamarine crystals, which had eye-like patterns inside.

"How much?"

Chris asked a question, clearly showing his fondness for the crystal.

"100 gold coins!"

The stall owner glanced at the well-dressed Chris and casually quoted an exorbitant price.

Chris was about to agree immediately when Su Qing slapped him on the back of the head, making him so angry his liver hurt.

This bastard really doesn't value money. A hundred gold coins would be enough to buy this stall owner.

Su Qing snatched the pocket from Chris's waist and looked inside. Besides some loose gold coins, there were also some crystal cards.

"What a spendthrift!"

Su Qing cursed, took out a gold coin and threw it to the stall owner, then quickly packed up the stall and prepared to take it away.

Before the stall owner could react, Su Qing stopped and looked at him, preparing to strip him of his clothes.

But just as he was about to make a move, he shook his head and said, "Forget it, you should just come with us!"

The stall owner was bewildered: "Where...where are you going?"

Su Qing looked at him in surprise: "I've already bought you, now you're my slave, of course you'll come with me."

The stall owner looked at the gold coin in his hand and wondered if he was dreaming. But how could he have such a bizarre dream?

Selling yourself for a single gold coin—does it mean that subconsciously you truly believe you're only worth a single gold coin?

The stall owner fell into deep thought and was pulled away by Su Qing. By the time he realized what was happening, he had been thrown into a courtyard, his money stolen, and his clothes stripped off.

"As a merciful master, I now set you free!"
