Chapter 139 Three Wishes and the Goldfish

Driving the carriage, Su Qing sped across the wilderness, encountering several bandits along the way. However, relying on the carriage's speed, he charged recklessly, and none of the bandits could catch him.

Of course, if they catch up, the outcome will be different!

Along the way, he didn't just travel; he would also go into large gathering places to do business. After all, although he robbed and extorted money, he was still just a wandering merchant.

Some of the goods they brought were sold, and they earned a few more silver coins. Although it was hard work to earn money this way, they felt at ease holding the money in their hands.

At the same time, they were also investigating the distribution of settlements and cities in the wilderness.

The closer to the coast, the more settlements there are; there are approximately twenty to thirty settlements throughout the entire wilderness.

Moreover, the closer to the coast, the less desolate the wilderness seemed. The settlement that Su Qing had just passed through already looked like a city.

Overall, it was still disappointing. After all, how can you expect a bunch of guys who just rob other people's money to build a decent city?

Su Qing gazed into the distance. He had been traveling for almost half a month and estimated that he would see the sea in another two or three days. He was really looking forward to the sea in this world!

...

The waves rolled and the tide surged. A girl of fifteen or sixteen sat on a rock on the shore, gazing into the distance. The sunlight shone on the seawater, refracting into colorful light, a breathtaking sight.

This wasn't the first time the girl had seen this sight, but she was always captivated by it.

The girl's skin was somewhat dark, perhaps because she often lived by the sea.

"Martha!"

A shout came from afar; it was his mother calling him. Judging by the time, it should be lunchtime.

The girl jumped off the rocks and ran towards the stone fortress in the distance.

But after taking only a couple of steps, she suddenly heard a voice in her ear: "Martha, help me!"

The voice was clear and crisp, like that of a child.

Martha stopped and looked around blankly. There was no one there, let alone children.

"I'm here!"

The voice continued to come, sounding so anxious.

Martha carefully followed the sound and slowly approached the sea, where she found a small fish trapped in a nearly dried-up puddle.

The little fish was covered in beautiful golden scales, so beautiful in the sunlight, reflecting a dazzling light. It even had a dark green necklace on its body, making it stand out from the crowd.

However, the little fish was clearly very weak. It opened and closed its mouth with difficulty and managed to utter a human voice: "Masha, save me!"

Oh my god!

The girl covered her mouth, her eyes shining with disbelief.

A fish can talk?

"Help me! I can grant you three wishes!"

The fish uttered some very classic words, but Martha didn't believe them.

If wishes could truly come true, why doesn't the fish escape on its own: "I'll save you now, but don't bite me!"

Fifteen or sixteen-year-old girls are at an innocent and carefree age, untouched by pollution, and with pure hearts.

He scooped up the little fish in his palm, ran to the seaside, and put it into the water.

The fish, having found water, immediately became joyful. After swimming around a few times, it ran back to the girl and said, "Please tell me your wish!"

"I have no wishes, just hurry back to the blue sea!"

Martha smiled, her eyes crinkling, waved, and jogged away.

The goldfish didn't leave; it waited quietly, believing the girl would return, because the pendant on its necklace was glowing.

Back in Stone Castle, her parents were sitting at the dining table waiting for her.

"Why are you back so late?"

The mother scolded him slightly. Robert, who had been engrossed in his book, put it down and looked at his lovely daughter.

Martha was overjoyed and couldn't wait to tell him about the strange thing that had just happened.

"You can't lie!"

How could a mother possibly believe such a thing? She simply assumed it was a story her daughter had made up.

Robert chuckled and teased, "Didn't you really like your cousin's dress? Why don't you wish for the same one?"

Seeing that her parents didn't believe her, Martha was furious and decided to go find the goldfish later to prove that she hadn't lied.

After lunch, Martha's uncle came to talk to her father, and her mother cleared the dishes.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Martha secretly slipped out during her afternoon nap.

I ran to the beach and to the place where the goldfish were released, but it was already empty.

Martha was instantly disappointed; the goldfish had indeed escaped!

Are you looking for me?

Suddenly, a golden fish head emerged from the sea, its round eyes staring at her.

So you were here!

Martha exclaimed with delight, "Can you come with me to meet my parents? They don't believe fish can talk, and I hope you can prove I'm not lying!"

The goldfish shook its head: "I can't leave the water!"

Martha was disappointed again in an instant and lowered her head. Suddenly, she remembered what her father had said, and looked up again, her small eyes sparkling: "Then can you give me a dress as pretty as my cousin's?"

Although she didn't really believe that a fish could grant her wish, she figured there was no harm in giving it a try.

"Of course, is this your first wish?"

The goldfish smiled, but the smile didn't seem very friendly.

The necklace pendant beneath the fish head flashed with a dark green light, and in mid-air, a beautiful dress fell into Martha's hands.
